Imagine that a friend of yours decides to start making and selling cookies. They're damn good cookies! Tasty, gooey, fantastic. But then they actually get to the "selling them" part. Turns out, they're asking for FOURTY DOLLARS per cookie! Now, you know they're good, and you want your friend to succeed, so you tell them people probably won't bother at that price. A bunch of other friends tell them the same thing. They stubbornly persist for quite some time, before finally caving in and lowering the price to $37 instead.
It's still a completely idiotic amount to be asking for, and won't change the minds of anyone that thought it was too expensive before. You still want your friend to do well, but good God, are they an imbecile.
In this analogy, does RNG act as an angry baker that randomly withholds baked goods (i.e. tokens) for those that have been patiently waiting in line for extended periods?
And if you've ever had kids selling fundraiser pies, pizza, popcorn, cookies, etc. you'd know people will still buy them even if they are outrageously expensive. If it were just the product they wanted they'd go to the store instead (likened to just buying stuff off the AH in CO).
People buy Lexus which are essentially rebranded Toyotas. Things are worth what people will pay for them.
Time will tell but I am guessing for the most part people who are willing to grind will still grind and people who aren't, won't. The price isn't going to change the decision of many players. If that were true, most MMOs wouldn't be run this way. Players are obviously willing to grind and that is why we have grind.

Our prices are not high enough to justify that analogy. I'm changing my stance on this conversation: You're just an entitled crybaby.
I would say that depends on your ability to invest time into CO, in terms of how much time can you actually invest in CO in comparison to another person.
If Player 1 can spend 12 hours grinding content a day...he/she is not going to have a problem with higher prices because he/she can afford to spend time grinding for those rewards.
Player 2 can only spend...2 hours at best grinding content a day...he/she is going to have a problem with the higher prices because the rewards are now "out of reach" (will not get them as fast as the other player) because the rewards they get for grinding are naturally going to be a lot lower than that of Player 1.
I would agree that the prices wouldn't be so insane...if we could share GCR/SCR around. But since it's been made VERY clear there will be NO storage cap raise for both currencies and that they will NOT be shareable/account bound, it's likely going to be the case that by the time "Player 2" has managed to obtain 1 of the new rewards...bigger and better rewards are out and about and the problem repeats itself.

Despite this...if I see the need to I will probably grind for certain things but I normally have a fair amount of time to invest in CO and even I would get turned off at having to work "so hard" to obtain 1 piece of gear or 1 device etc.

Are there any GCR rewards that replace other GCR rewards? Any evidence that this is a planned feature? Enjoy your tea
PS - I play between 1-2 hours a day- occasionally I go as high as 4 but not often. I don't know anyone who plays for 12 hours... that sounds tiring. The rewards are not "out of reach" for someone who plays that amount, stop being silly.

My wording never suggested that there was any evidence, it not not something I can know for certain but...games do progress and I don't think GCR will be the "end" indefinitely.
You seem to have ignored the rest of the post and just homed in on one part.
Anyway...you could play for 1-2 hours and not be able to find a team to run GCR content...or if you do the GCR content becomes problematic for a variety of reasons, so whilst if you dedicated 1-2 hours and had a guaranteed team, set up and 20 or so other players who were up for it...then yes, rewards would be alright.
But you must realize that is not the case for everyone...which is exactly what I was getting at.
