I just find it odd that Cryptic and other companies think it is useful to spend time and effort programming content that is only going to be viable/played by less than 30% of their player base. I certainly get that people who have worked their buns off to get 15K and higher gear don't want to be grouped with bots,…
Our alliance ran a couple teams through it, discussed it as it was going on and after. After the discussion, and reading thread/comments here and other places, I will be giving the event a complete pass. Another win for Crypticode!
Actually I also read it as "log in during event to create an eligible character, then your character will get these rewards while levelling or doing AI campaign". I could easily have completed the 100 Incentives for the AI campaign during the holidays... except they time-gated it. Then I had some non-gaming time because of…
TBH the mix of 10 runs per character, per day, buggy implementation, patches that don't actually fix anything, a primary reward being an artifact weapon set that will take us at least 4 full events (120 runs of minimally interesting content, per character, with no final reward for months), and that doesn't even have any…
Cryptic has this unfortunate tendency to program in something that is massively exploitable, then take ages to respond to/correct it, then 'correct' it by nerfing it into non-existence. Then they put in insane RNG and massive grind walls (5,000,000 South Sea credits for W4, anyone?), and then they throw a hissy fit when…
Agreed with OP. Requiring millions of points in credits, and then also making the cash-in system clunky, slow and prone to error, with no buyback or refund, is extremely poor design. Protection of specific items would be the best solution, but if not, a second best would be something like a 'sell all items of this type'…
The green/uncommon version summons a 300/300 tool useable at profession level 40, which beats the 280/280 you get from Mithral at level 44. It's almost as good as the Blackiron 315/315 which you don't get until profession level 60.
Wait, what? Bug fixes? Giving fair value for things you paid for and they subsequently took away? Accurate time windows displayed? Not ending events early? Expecting community managers to actually interact with the community? What is wrong with you people? YOU GUYS ARE WAAAAY TOO DEMANDING! Chill baby, chill!
I'm not a build expert, I'm barely passably well informed. So just some basic thoughts here: - You will need AD to advance, in some ways. So, farming AD is a goal. You should be doing your daily Random Queue, all your invokes for bonus rAD, weekly Dread Ring, Sharandar quests; whatever you can get your hands on to bring in…
Thank you very much noworries! Now I, too, have no worries! A response so clear and to the point that for now I will even gloss over the haziness of "a future update" and instead just cross my fingers and hope for the best! :)
Well, the time limits were a factor, but I can't really say a 'screwed over' type factor. - If you started a new Recruit character, it gets very nice benefits all by itself, without looking at Incentives. - If you started 1 new character, it will get all those benefits plus 100 Incentives of rewards. - If you looked at the…
Cryptic has this weird tendency to appear to be trying to do something nice ("Holiday sale! 30% off everything!") while actually shooting themselves in the foot, PR-wise ("But no sale for you, people who are on holiday, New Years work shifts, visiting family, don't log in 2-3 times per day, every day, or live on the wrong…
Yeah the fire/hire thing happened again this morning, fired Boern Norrdal to hire Bree Underleaf (jewellers)… got back a lower level Boern Norrdal. Looks like they still have some bugs to work out (says the master of understatement). Anyone have any ideas on the mechanics on 2 different crafters doing the same thing but…
A couple weeks ago (for about 10 days), it was STO that was lagging/rubberbanding regularly for a lot of people. This past week, STO seems okay (still some complaints) but Neverwinter is getting more laggy and rubberbandy. Had two Tiamat's fail this morning because of lag at the moment of completion (partially fail, that…
The Dragonborn Race pack is the new, cheaper, better pack, with more stuff in it. It directly replaces the Dragonborn Legend pack, which was the older version. If you already gave your money to Cryptic for the Legend pack, you cannot have the new one, you cannot have the stuff in it. If you have not already given your…
Login works fine for me, then sometimes it DCs while trying to show the character list. Mostly the character comes up okay, then it quickly loads @97% of the "PE map loading" screen, then it stops and DCs a minute later. Takes about 10 tries to get onto a character (so far). Reports from CO and STO show that they are…
Small update on my last post, which I'm not getting the 'Edit' icon for atm: Checked again this morning - my Mount XP insignia actually work in the Sharandar 'hub' where the tree/Merissara are, but do not work in the Blighted Grove area or in the Master of the Hunt skirmish.
Yeah, I got back from family visiting, thought "Hey I'd better log in and grab this chest"... "Oh wait look there IS no chest". Some people checked on the 4th, said it wasn't there at that point.
There may be some general issues with things active in different areas in Mod 15 - or there may be some old issues that I've just not noticed before. For instance, I put some Exp/Gold/Glory mount insignia on a couple chars for Mod15 to bump up Exp/Gold a bit. Went to Sharandar, noticed that my single Utility enchantment…
Some clarification: - Neverember Incentives come from Adventurers Reward packs as you level a Neverember Recruit character up. From what I have seen, they come in as 10 or 5 Incentives per payout, not 4. There is an account-wide limit of 200 Incentives. - - Acorns are the Acquisitions Inc. Campaign currency. They are used…
Well I would tend to agree. I'm not sure Cryptic even really knows what the levelling/gearing process is supposed to be anymore. There is a *lot* of content to play through on the way to 70... but you level up so fast that you have no reason to do more than 1/3 of it. (Edit: Of course, someone who genuinely wants to…
The Vistani gear all comes with minimum rank 6 enchants in it, so unless someone is paying to pull 6's out and put 5's in, not sure why you would be seeing 5's. Otoh, I think a lot of players forget after a while what 'levelling up' is like. Even before the salvage removal, you got virtually zero salvage. You aren't doing…
Just as a note, I wouldn't feel I had a 'right' to receive something that was added to a package some time after I bought it. That's not the angle I look at this sort of thing from. On the other hand, from a strictly business perspective, treating the people who have already spent money with you as valued customers whom…
I don't have any sources handy, but I seem to recall some dev discussion from a few years back that indicated along the lines of "no new classes until we get the current ones somewhat balanced". Since they are still stumbling about with ham-handed balance fixes, seems like anything new would still be a ways off.
Related to the OP (Is crafting still worth it, and if so, which professions?): In the old system, I had some Jewelry crafters who, at level 25, could make 'Personalized' Rings, Belts, and Necks. The rings didn't matter much because Seals buy better ones... but the Necks and Belts were the best items I could get for those…
Potions go on your "utility belt" - a set of slots usually bottom middle of screen, I think they are normally tied to the keys 4, 5, and 6. You can drag potions or some devices from your inventory and drop them in those slots, then trigger them with the 4-5-6 keys. For a good learning class, you can probably take any class…
Bad analogy, really. A replacement car (or even just replacing seats) is a physically separate object that cost as much or more to produce than the original. The only rational argument here is, "What makes sense for Cryptic to do, as a business entity who wants to encourage its' customers to spend more money and recommend…
Cryptic and other game devs often forget a fairly basic principle of business: it is all well and good to try to entice new customers, but the people who have already spent money at your business are far more likely to spend money there again than a 'potential new customer'. Well, unless you make it a practice to rip your…
