That is not even remotely proof of any kind as less than 5 percent of the playerbase ever uses any of those platforms. So that equals exactly jack TRIBBLE.

Actually, only about 10% of the overall playerbase buys ANYTHING at all. (Seriously, known stat.) ;)

Its a very hard sell for me as a Romulan player. I got the Discovery Pack to support the game but this offering does not seem worth it to me frankly speaking. I will likely get it if it has a 50% off sale or it is improved considerably.

Luckily for me there are the Vaad ships for me to enjoy since the offerings for Romulans has been essentially nil for a very long time.
If you are looking for an excellent PvE fleet consider: Omega Combat Division today.

I am assuming "Raider Flanking" goes with "Raider" class (and BoP).
Except they were also described as "light escorts" the only other out there is Aquarius and it's like a raider, but has no flanking (as far as I know, never flew it) and an escort, not raider mastery buffs at T5U.

I would see why Fed may not want any "raiders" in the Starfleet, but the "light escort" designation is a bit confusing because of that.

What's the source to confirm? It isn't on the official linked page for those ships' stats. I ask since, "Community Moderators are Unpaid Volunteers and NOT Employees of PWE/Cryptic Views and Opinions May Not Reflect the Views and Opinions of PWE/Cryptic". It makes sense for them to have the raider flanking ability, it should be the Improved, & that's what the majority have bene saying, but I'm not going to spend $120 based upon BMR.

The source is: I asked, since it seemed y'all needed some clarity there, and was given that as the answer.

You might find the following article by a criptic developer interesting.

It says the Magee has raider flanking among other things

In the Ten Forward Weekly live stream that concluded awhile ago it was asked & answered as well. It is regular flanking damage at that & not the Improved raider flanking for even more detail. Citing sources is always beneficial to everyone.

That would be nice. But don't know if I would switch to it.

It is unique this Discovery one. I hope I can paint the tips of the wings a blood red color in the tailor. :::evil grin:::: :naughty:

During the Wed. Ten Forward Weekly live stream it was stated that the raiders both have flanking. It is just the regular flanking & not the Improved however. no idea about the capability of swapping ship skins between the two you mentioned, interesting inquiry.

Uh, hm... I... if I pick the game back up anytime soon, I may be snagging the Gagarin.

Rad. May well be the excuse I needed to pick my DSC toon back up. I rolled her when the Discovery content first dropped, but I was already pretty burnt out from ViL. Miffed it took until after the anniversary event to happen but I feel the itch coming back and I've surely got some lifer stipend saved up enough that I should be able to grab the Gagarin at no or nearly no personal cost...

    Decisions, decisions...

Well as much as I think this pack doesn't offer enough for the price remember to consider it since breaking a pack is hardly ever worth it. I'm still probably skipping this pack for now myself but just like many there are features within that are very tempting.

If you bought the Disc Starter pack back when then you get a deeper discount currently so look into that. If that Gagarin is the only thing that seems irresistible for you then that is great since it helps with the decision one way or another & it will be on sale.

Cryptic's marketing ploy towards us customers with this pack just leaves a bad taste. Too much like EA & Bethesda to me.
  • jexsamxjexsamx Member Posts: 2,803 Arc User
Oh don't worry, this isn't my first rodeo. Learned my lesson the hard way during LoR when I ended up buying most of the pack piecemeal anyway like an idiot. Though in my defence, I was jobless at the time, and I bought the ships over the course of a couple of years. But still.

And yeah, the Gagarin is the only thing I see in the entire bundle that I'd consider using. Not a fan of the Shran, no desire for the BOffs or combat tardigrade, and all my KDF toons are pretty much married to their ships so there's no chance they'll swap out. Not that I'd ever consider using that incredibly ugly cruiser.

The Gagarin has its flaws, sure, but I've never played a MW cruiser before and I think it's probably the sexiest ship in DSC barring the Crossfield itself and the revamped Constitution, and it's not like it's a trash tier ship either. And it's not like I haven't had Zen piling up during my months-long hiatus, so why not?

A bit of a gimmick, but pairing up the Graviton Displacer console from the Shran with the Nadion Saturation Bomb from the Patrol Escort Refit, is rather fun...

I am not a fan of Discovery and its Klingon designs. I found the ships were interesting but did not have a Klingon feel to them. Now that they are in game I really like them .My old 9 years old Kdf tac is currently flying the Qugh and I created a new toon to test the scaling M'Chla. So far I really like it. I went so far as to use the T'Kuvma armour on my BO's. Quite frankly it looks great on a bulky "real" Klingon. It looks real bad on the skinny Discovery BO. I'm having a blast at the moment. I will add my voice to others however and say that is time to move back to the real storyline. We have too much Discovery stuff at the moment.

Ended up picking up the Gagarin Battle Cruiser.

I expected it to be right on Par with the Arbiter but wow.. this thing really surprised me. This thing can put out some serious damage, the thing cut right through HSE and parsed considerably higher then most of my other ships, even without being fully optimized.

The layout of the ship combined with the Miracle Worker powers make this thing quite formidable. In my opinion, it's the jewel of this pack.

The Art Department also did their usual stellar job here.. the modernized skin looks amazing. I skipped the rest of the pack, but the Gagarin is a great ship.

Yeah, I think the Arbiter just lost top billing fed side for battlecruisers. Yes the trait is still top tier, but you can transfer the trait to any starship once unlocked.

Plus, shes beautiful to boot. Shipyard monkies definitely deserve their Romula Ale this time :)

did you try adjusting the sliders for the bulk of the boff's body? one of the tailor tabs is dedicated to sliders for tweaking body proportions.

I gotta admit that the fed MW ship is quite nice looking. Also like the BoP...just not as a KDF ship. It's rendered really well in the game and I love it as a necromonger style ship...which I always liked. MW abilities I get the feeling are under rated quite often. They can be quite powerful. The thing is, the fed raider ship looks like it's made of duplo blocks and the KDF MW ship looking like the vomit of somebody who took every single mind altering chemicals known and unknown to mankind at once.

Also no romulan ships...so no spendy on anything until I see 3 packs in a row with romulan options.

Haha.. agreed, the Fed and KDF Raiders both look.. strange to me. But I get it, beauty in the eye of the beholder and all that.

I also agree on spending, I cashed in Dilithium to buy the Gagarin and I am not spending on any packs until they follow through on their word that Romulans would not be discarded. At the rate they're going, we're both saving quite a bit of money.
