I can certainly see an exception clause put in for the 'inactivity' thing with regards to LTSers. But they won't remove the 'for any reason or no reason' clause, weather for LTSers or otherwise.
Sadness. :frown: You will be sorely and gravely missed, Heretic. Your work on the starbases and on the DOff system were watershed moments, they were great -- or are anticipated as being great -- not only because of the work and thought you put into them but the communication you imparted to us during that work. And this is…
And yet... absolutely nothing will come of this forum rage. PWE will continue on and continue slowly but surely absorbing everything that used to be Cryptic until it's just another division/subsidiary and there will be nothing left of Cryptic itself. And all this, this game and this franchise, will be nothing more than a…
I'm pretty sure I understand how, and to some extent why they broke the forum accounts system. Basically it's PWE's game now. The accounts in their forums database have precedence -- if your name matches one of those existing names, even if that name isn't associated with someone playing STO, then you're out of luck and…
Ye gods... now this is in-your-face proof of how impossible or at least improbable it will be to dig out any information from previous version of the forum. :(
You may be surprised. In the Secret World forums, for example, you cannot have a custom avatar. And according to Bran, this is not a bug, but a feature; he is delivering feedback to the appropriate people, but if they don't want it, it's not like they have to do it.
It's just a warp to the left... and then a wormhole to the ri-i-i-ight.... I'm disappointed. I don't think the goal was to 'break the community's back,' I think the goal was to make Cryptic conform still more to PWE's image. But it'll have the same effect. I wonder... has the 'ignore' list also been unlinked to the forum?…
Pretty cruddy. Not a fan. Not blaming Cryptic; this buyout was really the worst thing to happen to them. Sorry, devs/goldnames... but I think this is the mid-water point of Cryptic Studios being anything remotely resembling independent. You really did try hard, and in a lot of ways you succeeeded. You did develop a MMO in…
