Can we NOT use our own pics for our Avatar anymore? Is there a reason for this or is it coming in a future patch.

Or am I just being a comp nOOb and cannot figure out how to put my own Avatar pic in.
Any feed back would be helpful...

    Ya I agree, I'd GLADLY trade the signature space for the avatar space, but you could simply create a sig pic.

    Wastes ALOT of forum space, don't it ?

    I don't get why I can set my own custom profile pic but can't have it as my forums picture? There is not a single thing stopping them from letting us do that other than they just don't want us to have the ability.

    yup, in the peoples republic we only alllow 8 types of people, so 8 avatars should suffice!

    The avatar issue is more likely than not temporary people. Get over it.

    The core forum software they are using supports custom avatars giving its just a few versions up from what was running on Cryptic's site but they have it actually turned off.

    I wouldn't be suprised if they offer custom avatars in the future in the C-Store. No wait, scratch that, they'll offer it as a 1,000 day veteran award THAN offer it in the C-Store.

    Yeah, these new forums make terrible use of vertical space. Were these designed before the widespread use of widescreen monitors for gaming? I suspect that the vast majority of their customer base has widescreen monitors, if not, maybe just a greater percentage than the population at large.

    Thank you all for the feed back, I feel much better now knowing that it was The Borg Queen that made us all the same and not my incompetence in operating the "Change Avatar" button.

    You may be surprised. In the Secret World forums, for example, you cannot have a custom avatar. And according to Bran, this is not a bug, but a feature; he is delivering feedback to the appropriate people, but if they don't want it, it's not like they have to do it.

    Nah you see, the Borg assimilate advanced technologies and cultures in their pursuit of perfection. If PWE were the Borg, we would have gotten a much sweeter forum with more features and not less. PWE is like the reverse Borg. Instead of going after the latest technologies they can, they're off trying to assimilate that old fax machine in the dump.

    :eek: I knew I should not have thrown out my windows 97 set up disk...maybe I can buy a new/used one on EBAY.

    Dude it is your lucky day! Sitting on my desk at work, still in the box WITH the plastic wrapping on it is "Windows for WorkGroups Add-on" AND Windows 3.1!
