Exactly. Players need Advanced to be achievable without major tech upgrade and without tons of rep gear, because they need to beat Advanced to get the materials for the upgrades and the neurals for rep gear to then beat Elite. Or have the normal ones changed to give out those rewards.
As a professional that must collect and write release notes I can tell you a few things first hand: 1) The check-in comments for the version control system are seldom appropriate for customer eyes; either they are too technical (which is good for maintenance) or possibly they are embarrassing due to too many or too severe…
The Doff UI is a big step backwards. The big delay to get them all to finish is also a setback. I find it ridiculous that players enjoy having to remove and then replace doffs to get the high crit results they want, specifically the Support missions. The quote from the original poster above is ridiculous.
The only MMO boycott action that I am aware of that worked, was Star Wars Galaxies that had a protest for wookie armor. The developers added the armor. So what you really need is a demonstration. Get everyone you can to one spot in game, be silent and don't move, then at some appointed time, everyone says the same thing…
I've boycotted other things for much longer so, yes. If the issue is important enough, like maybe reverting to the old Doff UI, then I certainly would. I haven't made up my mind about Tau Dewa since i've never tried it, but I might join a boycott for solidarity.
I have this same problem. It takes about 10 seconds before my start button appears. I don't know why they have delays built in to prevent problems. They should use semaphores. I use the "clear slot" option in the catalyst window and then I can do it immediately. The delay has a different duration on each of my characters.…
I thought the point of the gear awards was to motivate players to perform their best and tough out a bad run, with the idea they might be awards a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place gear award, which *might* even be usable? So now, just bail if it isn't fast enough for you? I agree with other posters. Removing the gear is a bad idea.…
There's a serious downside to your idea. When you have even just 3 of those, the noise they make just destroy your ears... well my ears anyway. Try putting four of those on your favorite beam boat before you upgrade. You might find it intolerable.
Yes, the drops are better. You will take damage to your officers, yourself, and your ship when you die. It is not worth it. You get really good rewards from a number of the missions, and you get them no matter the difficulty you play.
I agree with essentially everything the original poster said. The previous interface was easier to use and required less clicks to do the same job (less clicks means better interface). With the old system - I seldom wasted my Caitian flight deck officers on missions that didn't need them so I could use them for the one…
I'm still throwing away bridge officer candidates so I think it would be great to have: - Doff missions that consume them (definitely) - Fleet projects that need them (maybe)
In case that wasn't enough: Start a new reputation project which is done by clicking the "reputation" tab which is in the same window you see when you bring up your inventory, and then be sure to put all the shards in it! It should complete fairly quickly and show a "collect reward" button. If not, you are doing it wrong.
Note that I received a blue Gumarre from the Request R&D mission. No, it was not the free one you get from before the change to this new crafting system since I was not maxxed out.
I have acquired R&D doffs by doing the R&D support missions at the Academy. I just received Gumarre that way yesterday. No lock boxes and I maybe have 5 of them across 3 characters.
Dumb question: Please link the dev blogs. When I google "star trek online developer blog" I get all kinds of things that are either very old, dead links, or simply not it. Thanks.
