I started playing the game during closed beta. After getting a key by winning a trivia challenge in the old #STO IRC. I was impressed. The game had great potential. The planned systems - such as genesis for procedurally based exploration and being able to revisit and share unique civilizations - never came to be. I went on…
Under the Dome? So far its more of a concept clone of the intro to Stargate Universe, complete with random supply crates that had no way of coming through.
I've been eyeing a lot of these 'D'Deridex is horrible' threads lately, and honestly, at VA I'm really not having any major problems. It's an adjustment as a player who has primarily used escorts in the past, but I have not found it to be any where near as crippling as others here seem to feel it is. I'm running 3 dual…
I replayed this at Vice Admiral, with the D'Deridex retrofit. Ship was equipped with random green weapons I had picked up, plus an Aegis set I crafted. With the exception of a MK XI RCS console, and a MK XI shield capacity console, all my other consoles were the warbird specific ones from the legacy pack. At that point I…
The queues and server instability are generally in the realm of normal launch pains for a new MMO... STO isn't new... and they really should have known upgrades would be needed due to the influx of new and returning players. I can understand the issues, though. What I can't understand, or forgive, is the server not…
I suspect that if it were as simple as just resetting the location, they would have done it by now. Most likely the character files have been corrupted and they're trying to figure out how to repair them so that they can be recovered. Simple recovery may be impossible even if they do fix what caused the error to begin…
Considering I hit 40 last night, with 17 hours played time... not using boosts, and not really rushing anything - after having to restart new characters twice because of the infinite Server Not Responding error... Yeah. It's not hard at all.
I'm playing this at the moment, and the problem is basically that all of the allied ships are useless, and the enemy fleet - now numbering around 30 vessels, with several dreadnaughts, will mass fire and destroy anything that it fires at. There isn't a load out which could defend against this.
You guys are not alone. I just don't understand why people keep trying to suggest client side solutions to what can be nothing other than a server side problem.
Theres two issues: Some people are just experiencing extreme lag on map transfers. Others, like myself, are completely cut off from using certain characters because they will not load at all. For the second time of day and server load are not part of the equation. Trust me: I've been up all night and my other characters…
It's possible that something in your character file, on cryptic's server, is corrupted. I have the same issue with one of my new Romulans. It persists even after I copied that character over to tribble.
I think they broke something with certain characters... since I only get this one on the Romulan I want to play, and can use new characters and other previously existing ones with no issue.
Work Around: select one of the other pants that has 3 or 4 color options. Change all them to the color you want, and then change back to the tos pants.
I'd be happy if some of the remaining, and more glaring bugs from closed beta had actually been fixed, and the new c-store ships had actually been testable at all.
I actually have had this problem on Holodeck on live for the last few months... and it was not on tribble while I was testing it. Back on Holodeck now, and the problem is there again.
