I want them to fix it too. I fiddled a long time trying to get STO to run in Linux. It works but the graphics were flaky and I didn't like the feel. XP was available form older equipment so I installed and used it. Im not about to purchase a new OS and trash my system trying to install it and it is beyond infuriating to…
I tried this too and it works in XP and may get around the different menu issues as a temp fix until they fix ARC : Go to search in the Start menu, click search for "all files and folders" - Then type/ copy paste "Star Trek Online" no quotes of course - Press search - the one that comes up with the icon, and/or around 63 k…
I am on a dual boot system with XP just for playing STO. Look in your program files for the Game Launcher (It looks like a federation icon) usually in a "Star Trek Online" file (usually in "Perfect World" file). Bypass the ARC thing (for now) completely. I just got done playing so it works for sure with XP. Tell us if it…
XP and similar: Go into "Program Files" select "Perfect World Entertainment" go into the STO file select star track online launcher. Or better yet copy and paste a link on your desktop to it.
"Arc.exe - Entry Point Not Found" InterlockedCompareExchange64 could not be located in dynamic link library in kernel32.dll - tried reinstalling ARC. Didnt work. If it wasn't broke, someone shouldn't have "fixed" it
Game launcher wont even come up for me now. ARC launcher is stuck sometimes too. The server hamster is just holding on to his wheel now, screaming wildly as it spins out of control.
Phil it just ditched most of my "Uneasy allies" progress it seems . I restarted and am waiting to get in to see if I can get back onto it. Otherwise I will have to drop it and try again I guess. Its having a lot of trouble. I wonder what the user count is. This new recruitment thing seems to be really popular. Im having…
I think it may really be down now. The US game server at least. Ok it may just be exceptionally slow do to very heavy use. "The website is experiencing technical difficulties. Normal game play is not affected." I dont think thats a bad thing. Just annoying.
Malcom Sissel I dont like him. Isnt he the one that threatened to "dock my pay" a while back for some fix it mission? If so its him. He is a Undine, I am sure of it.
Around 4 - 6 AM is easy to get in. I jsut kinda accept that is the way I will be playing over the next few weeks. The update has a weird color feel to it Im not sure I like. You all shouldn’t be so quick to throw the free to play people under the bus. In game they are usually the best players for the equipment they are…
I dont think its as innovative as it could be. It seems to directed to a type of audience, tweaked for populist appeal. Its not really what ST was about - that its remebered for. If you are going to go for that type of character development route British TV sifi of the last few years is far more innovative.
There will be a federation of planets by the time I get back online the way this is going. I liked it better before. I still had plenty of stuff to do and just brought my own ship. It was better before this.
This needs to be resolved. 20 million + people and growing a day use Ubuntu. I play STO on a old XP computer that I resuscitated for that purpose alone - a concept obscene to a Linux user. Free to play and open source should work beautifully together. Im upgrading to the latest Ubuntu version 13.04 today (54/7) […
