Was surprised the Ambassador was inferior to the Excelsior as well. I guess that's the difference between free ships and pay ships.

Did you uncheck on-demand patching? If so that's why. It's download all the patching instead of only the vital stuff. With on-demand patching turned on, you download any updates for a zone via the load screen.

Sadly I have an iphone and it's a personal phone... and here in the USA at&t charges $50 for tethering service... so it's not an option. Private Tunnel worked fine with the on demand option still ON... I just know that the moment I go into a zone I haven't been in for awhile I'd blow through the 100mb there too. :)

Well Private Tunnel worked a whole 2 seconds for me. Unfortunately I have had on-demand patching on. What does that mean? The patcher downloads the bare minimums to patch the client and if I enter a zone that needs patching, the load screen takes 2-10 seconds longers while it updates the zone files. Great for when the…

Where is the option to disable auto patching? I just see the on demand patching and I know that's for in game patching of zones and such you haven't been to in awhile.

Since people seem to think using a VPN is a good solution, can someone suggest a VPN they've used that doesn't try to install a bunch of malware with it?

Having the same problem as everyone else. Did the tracer and everything after 12 times out. Don't see a need to add to the copy and pastes. I'm in NY. Cellphone tether is not an option for me.

To add to the fun, I reinstalled STO using Steam (the directories are notably different.) The steam version actually has files in the Live directory. When I run GameClient.exe it launches the game.
