Unless something major changes higher up, we aren't going to get any more features to the foundry. It's such a shame, but it doesn't make PW any money to Cryptic aren't interested. True the devs do what they can for minor additions - there's just no paid time.
While these kind of missions do kinda annoy me because I can't make them part of my head Canon, it's quite fun the think about. Kurland is trapped in a spacesuit floating through space and is never recovered. A malfunction causes the last message sent to be replayed constantly until the suit loses power.
Thanks, I thought they just removed him. It was my first winter event in 2014, so I guess I assumed it was the norm. It's kinda lifeless without him in the center though.
What's the problem with joining a large fleet? Most will let you join, rank up for a small contribution and leave again. And the reason they do it is because it works best for business, if they charged more for ships then they would sell less and make less money. And you only ever need join one fleet, because the majority…
Completely agree here, with the exception of T'Vrell never learned to hide her emotions (helps explain Foundry Missions for me), but still retains her Vulcan mannerisms. And also the addition of Kolez always working toward a Command position, but when presented with an opportunity (e.g. when I leave him on the ship) finds…
Windows XP is the second greatest OS ever made. It would be outrageous not to make it compatible. And Mac users deserve to have it taken away from them ;) .
If the button is greyed out then it has been disabled on purpose for some sort of maintenance (I think there is something odd going on tonight with the Foundry and this update.
45,000 is hardly anything in this game, and there was plenty of warning, it's called Tribble. The removal of old kits is how the game moves forward. We can't live in the past forever.
I had someone give me a 5 star rating and a message saying "Great ideas, but too much story (EDIT: Text)" or something along those lines on a blank test map that was under review. Strange, Strange people.
The only other suggestions I can think of is Safe Mode, complete uninstall/reinstall or using a different computer. Don't give up just yet. And threatening to leave won't make Cryptic do anything about it because no one else is having this problem (or speaking up about it). It's sad to see an author go because they take…
I'm nearly there now. I'll be releasing a test version either today or tomorrow. Since Cryptic or PWE haven't responded in any of my attempts to contact them, I'm going to be using placeholder assets for the moment. Approximations for 3D models and screenshots for textures.
Thanks for the interest. I've already contacted Cryptic about it and I'm hoping for a reply this week. In the mean time I'm working on the base mechanics. If they say no (which is more than likely) I will see if placeholder assets will be good enough. We know that the devs love the foundry, but they have to balance "that…
Just for the record I will not discuss assets unless it is in a PM with a dev or mod. If I'm asked to stop, I'll end the project, and I completely understand where they (and you) are coming from. However, I'm trying to support the foundry community, and I'll do what I can.
I guess I should have mentioned it earlier, it is also the reason why i am concerned the dev's might shut this down. I intend to capture the 3D model and materials from my graphics card using an application which I cannot name. I will have to get each asset and fix the origin point and scale manually. I will start off with…
While this would be cool, it provides nothing that would bring in revenue for the company. It would also be a waste of time, since the majority of the playerbase wants: - Bug Fixes - Content - Ships - Updates to Systems
Have you ever been involved in software development of any kind? Nothing is "easy peasy" when it comes to programming of this kind, especially with the Cryptic engine which the game is currently using. While you idea is good functionally, as someone with experience with software development, I can say that the solution…
Basically, a 3d environment where you can drag and drop props and arrange them, to test designs, but also to produce a list with coodinates which can then be used to reproduce it in the actual editor. It saves the constant loading and testing and you can adjust the props while you are in 3D mode, rather that having to…
Unfortunately the foundry doe snot have that capability. and from what snippets I have heard here and there, I believe even a Cryptic Missions couldn't do that. You could do this with "optional" objectives using dialog triggers, but you can't branch actual objectives this way.
