I just tested them and the visuals work and the icon appears for each energy type its reacting against so I dunno perhaps they fixed it?

I have a set that is epic and they seem like they are working but I will look for the icon to see if its true. I am getting the visuals of the shields working....hmmmm

I too got the breen chel gret and it will not unlock for any of my other characters, @Pinkscarab
