As a TFO, it's not the worst I've ever played. Not the best, but not the worst. For me, though, the real appeal is seeing the BoBW models. It gives me hope that we can get the Springfield, Niagara, Freedom, Challenger and Proto-Nebula classes to play with.
I've had this happen as well. It seems limited to just the DBB and DHCs. I've also noticed that the windows at the back and left side of the bridge glitch out and show what's behind the ship at many viewing angles.
The UI is gone, but the MW functions still work. I've had them go off (most notable is the plasma burst), but of course I don't know which one is going to trigger, because no UI.
Personally, it's tied between the Compiler science dreadnaught and the Terran Somerville. The Compiler may have a turn rating of 6, but its gargantuan size makes it feel like it turns even slower than it does. The TS's console just ruins it for me. Yeah, don't use it if I don't like it, but I prefer to preserve the flavour…
You think that's bad? Slap the Centaur saucer, Shi'kahr strut and Clarke pylons on and you get this monstrosity. Now, I love me some weird kitbashing, but this is just... I dunno. Putting on other pylons doesn't line them up with the strut's connector, which arguably looks worse. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the new…
I love the Legendary Galaxy Dreadnaught, it and its traits slots right in with my "TRIBBLE you, I'll outlast you" playstyle, but I've fallen in love with the Kelvin Destroyer, especially its experimental weapon. I slot that thing on all my ships capable of having it. My heart will always have a special place for the New…
Ah, the disco balls. I remember the heady days of the disco balls/ cryo grenade combo. Continually locking ones toon in place AND tanking your CPU at the same time!
I'd heard about this happening, and I wish I'd read this thread before, as I just deleted a lowbie toon (Paxton) in order to re-do, only to find I don't have a spare slot. Lifer, but I'm hearing that it's hit people without LT accounts as well.
Except that the new price is per character, where as the old price was for an account-wide unlock (faction dependent, of course). So in reality, you take those new prices and multiply them by the number of characters you have that can use them. That's the new price. There's only any value or savings for people who only…
There's a pair of words, that describe this who thing. They're on the tip of my tongue, starts with a "p", ends with another "p". Pinger? No. Pow- Power. Power what? Power move? No, no that's not it. Power sink? Unnn.. closer, but not correct. *snaps fingers* Oh, I've got it now! Power-creep! That's what this is doing!…
Speaking from a purely visual point of reference, the closest ship we have to the Shenzhou would actually be the Centaur class. The layout is almost identical, and I'm willing to bet that the proportions ( saucer to underslung hull to pylons to nacelles) aren't that far off either.
I would caution you to be careful with what you wish for. Learn from we who wanted a t6 Constitution class and got a ship that was put into the most random system in the game with the lowest drop rates: R&D boxes. I would not be at all surprised if Cryptic did the same with a T6 Nova. That being said, I hope that if they…
Always excellent to see a Star Trek alumni join the STO cast! I do have a bit of nitpicking to do, though. In the first paragraph it says "..spurns Worf into showing his "true Klingon self"." To spurn means to reject or to turn away from. Somehow I think that wasn't Kurn's intention. Rather, I think it was to spur Worf…
It's a buff of some sort. After looking at the vid and pausing when it pops and when an enemy is targeting you I see that the only effects on you are active abilities/buffs (the green squares) and passive abilities/buffs (the blue squares). Unfortunately you don't have the main nameplate/status panel on the screen so we…
+1 for this. Personally, I find it a little bit of a headscratcher as to why they decided to make the 20 hour limits and day switches subject to the account rather than universal to the servers. For me, the day switches at 1700 Lima, (West Coast Canada), which means I've missed a couple of days here and there for certain…
Expertise is a bit of a holdover from the pre-revamp skill system. It used to be that every boff had ticks in each skill they knew and putting exp in each tick improved the skill, usually by reducing cooldown, improving damage and/or duration and the like. When the devs tossed that out the door and made boffs able to know…
So it's down to a choice of a ship that looks vaguely Kling/Fed influenced, a Ferengi looking thing reduced to a simple shape or a (once again) uninteresting version of a Son'a cruiser. Alpha, but only because it's the most aesthetically appealing, if just barely.
Y'know, I always though the Armstrong was basically the JJverse version of a Miranda. As the Miranda was supposed to have a deflector dish, having a third nacelle would have been (aesthetically speaking) a good place for it.
If you're like me and don't have access to some of the fancy universal modules like the gateways or such the basic stuff can still be pretty good. In particular, I really like Support drone. Having two (or with the appropriate Doff, more) drones to take the heat off me in combat is a good thing. The shield heal module is…
For those asking for the Norway class, it's already in the game, sort of. The T3 Fed Escort parts include the Oslo class, which is "based off of" the Norway. Doesn't look exactly like it, but it's pretty close.
