The whole "Red Alerts" thing needs a revamp to make it more interesting. Red Alerts should happen in system maps and ground maps (social zones). Location and race can be random. (Random selection of Voth, Borg, Undine, Jem Hadar, etc, attacking ESD, SOL, Vulcan, Andoria, New Rolumus, etc)
I'd really like the Enemy Encounter icons to get a revamp. They've been around since the beginning of STO, and my personal opinion is that they look a little silly. The red cloud with little ships flying around it doesn't really fit the new techie look of the new Sector Space. Perhaps it could be replaced with an animated…
I have a plea. I know there are a lot of people that have a problem with the scale of DS9. I also know that that size was chosen to give it more grandeur and that it won't be rescaled for that reason. So, I can half-heartedly accept that. How about a compromise? Can we (the people who think DS9 is too big) at least get it…
I'd like to add to the "Custom sun lighting on space maps has no effect" bug. Not only does lighting have no effect, but the sun itself won't appear in the map.
Jupiter Force is full of players that know a great deal about STO. I joined a while back and everyone is very helpful. Attend the event and introduce yourself!
This does give me some hope regarding the Fed ships : "In the end, players will have the option to fully embrace our new Intelligence aesthetic, complete with its aggressive and stealthy style, or tweak components and materials for a more traditional look."
I totally agree with crypticarmsman. The KDF and Rom ships look good. I look at them and think, "that's a Kllingon ship", "that's a Romulan ship." The Fed ships however, don't look like Star Trek Fed designs. They're too angular, too pointy. Round or oval saucers and nacelles on pylons are important to the Federation…
The Fed ships look really awful. I won't be buying those things. The Feds have a very specific look, and STO is getting further and further away from it. Yes, I understand that the Fed ships are kinda boring to design because of the limitations but I don't want to play " misc space game" I want to play Star Trek.
If I could suggest something; I recommend that if you have the time (I know it's time consuming) Mav, you might want to edit the episodes more heavily. They tend to be pretty long, and some of the banter can be cut out. Basically, it just needs some tightening for the people who don't watch it live because they want…
You are correct. Unless we can guaranty we'll get a purple with a desired set of modifiers there's no point in crafting the high-end gear. I'll just stick with the rep system and fleet gear. The lower level gear isn't worth crafting either because they're too expensive at the level you're at. (And let's be honest, at the…
Armor sets can only be applied to Off Duty costume slots. So, go to the "Head" menu in the tailor and change the costume type to Off Duty. You should then see a section for armor\suits.
If I remember correctly, the textures are actually stored on your hard drive, and have to be uncompressed before loading. The slowest part of my gaming machine is the HD. It might be interesting to start a PerfMon session while the game is running to see what the disk I/O looks like. Perhaps reading the textures from the…
I too am experiencing this issue. I even got a new video card thinking that was the issue. So, on my AMD Phenom quad-core with 4GB of RAM, running Windows 7, using both an NVIDIA 560GTX and a NVIDIA 650 GTX Ti textures won't load sometimes. (Probably about 50% of the time.)
I just want the current models fixed. They haven't been redone since launch, and their textures are all wrong. I just want the Constitution to look like this http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__...-A_quarter.jpg
That wallpaper is great! I just wish some of JamJamz time could be spent fixing the Enterprise-A textures. It still has the old weapon hardpoint nodes on it, and the material is totally wrong for that ship. It doesn't have the Aztec pattern on it, and is even missing the hydroponics bay windows on the engineering hull.
I'd personally like a defend mission where you have to defend a Tin Man from the Tal'Shiar. That'd be fun. Or perhaps, have a mission where the original Tin Man and Tam Elbron return.
Yeah, that design is pretty sweet. If JamJamz ever gets some extra time though, I wish the Galaxy Class texture errors could get fixed. http://www.stoarchive.com/blog/?p=1167
Yeah, the Nebula and the D'kyr are probably the rarest T5 ships. Now that I think of it, having a Fleet Nebula would be pretty neat. I'm off to Ship Requisitions! ;)
I agree with this sentiment, but theoretically the space portion of the game could have been reserved until you reach Captain rank with you playing ship interior and away team missions until then. I'd hate that since it's the space portion of STO that I love, however.
I agree. That would be a fun repeatable mission. Keep fighting off the Borg, saving colonists and detroying Borg ships. Hmmm. I might have to recreate this mission using the Foundry.
Perhaps this is overly simplistic, but no one is making anyone buy the suits. It's fluff like the EVA suits that pays for the game. I don't want them, they're too expensive in my opinion, but that doesn't mean that I'm being screwed by PWE. I'd love to have a new car, but I don't want to pay for one. That doesn't mean I'm…
I miss STOked too. My enthusiasm for STO has waned in part because STOked is gone. This forum aside, STOked was where I got my STO news, and it's what got me excited to play STO when new content was coming out. I feel kinda out of touch.
