  • Well, the patch notes are in. Not a single fix worth mentioning. I'll take this as confirmation that everything I currently loathe about the game is working as intended. I'll take my leave for good now. It was fun while the fun lasted. Grind long and prosper (a little) ,\\//
  • Yeah, I do have to give him credit for putting some heart into it. But still, most of his lines sound like he's reading The Magic Schoolbus to a bunch of kids.
  • Voice acting directed by fanboys who were apparently too star struck to ask for a second take. Tim Russ is a natural, but the rest of the gang sounds like they were reading the script for the first time. There. I said it. Like all of STO, DR's voice overs are cringeworthy.
  • I do think it would be a lot cooler to treat reps and specs like the Legacies in SWTOR. That would fix my single biggest issue with the current state of things - my poor alts being left in leveling limbo.
  • Yet, for some unfathomable reason, a Spec point costs $300 worth of boosts. One. Single. Point. Why they thought the XP boosts needed to be nerfed to a third of their payout it beyond me. They were already a complete waste of Zen...
  • Well, for starters, 1 improved tech actually costs about 10x that amount.
  • Right. So, no matter why they decided to make queues more difficult, they failed.
  • Sorry, I was replying to the person directly above my post who mentioned complaints of the game being too easy.
  • Exactly. +1
  • Is this in response to me? If so, no matter what doesn't apply. I deleted STO abruptly after Thursday's patch. The XP nerf was too demoralizing to tolerate. Ah, okay. I thought whale was just a person who spent money on a F2P game and basically helped keep it funded. In that case, I'm not a whale at all. I did have a lot…
  • Why do people still think Cryptic increased difficulty to please the high DPSers? Cryptic did that to give everyone a reason to buy high-end gear and then upgrade the TRIBBLE out of it. Plain and simple.
  • Also, F2Pers are the ones grinding away for dilithium to sell for Zen. They're the ones feeding the whales. Without them, the dil exchange would dry up and upgrades would largely cease. So, Cryptic should be more concerned with keeping the F2Pers happy and feeling accomplished more so than the whales. They may as well…
  • I thought the whole point of being a whale was instant gratification. The crafting and upgrading systems plays into this pretty hard - you can just pay to get your gear immediately - but the specialization system doesn't seem like it would appeal to whales at all. They'd have to provide a way for whales to buy…
  • Well, you're here. So you at least glanced behind you. :P Seriously, though, I uninstalled Thursday, after yet another progression nerf. I'm only here because I'm holding out hope that Cryptic will respond rationally to the situation and fix it. Futile, I know, but it's still more enjoyable than STO is right now.
  • It does put most things back when you reload the loadout, but it never gets my universal slots right. It puts one of my other boffs into the universal station and another random boff in its place, basically messing up my entire tray. All I have to do is resort my boffs, add the uni boff's abilities back to the tray, and…
  • Sarcasm, I take it? That issue is as prevalent as ever.
  • I've spent a great deal of money in this game, but I'm certainly not a whale - not the way you describe them. All this talk of lording over others and having what others don't makes spenders sound like a bunch of aristocratic douchebags. I just like having the latest shiny thing to play around with and being as effective…
  • Instead of encouraging people to play content by nerfing the "easy" grinds. Why don't they do so by making the content more rewarding? I'm not going to eat dog **** because you took away my chocolate pudding. I'm just not going to eat. Now, stop TRIBBLE around and pour some sugar on this ****!
  • Eh. The longer we go without some communication on this issue, the harder it is to keep my cool. I'm reaching bitter drunk divorcee who lost the house levels of irrationality.
  • Im already there. I deleted STO thursday and downloaded SWTOR instead. I saw the SoR ads and realized Cryptic has fantastic timing. So thanks, Geko. I would have missed it otherwise. I'll give EA some money for a while now. I shudder at the thought, but it doesn't feel nearly as filthy as giving it to PWE.
  • Hamilton has actually been around for quite a while and had some big plans for rebalancing weapon mods. It does seem odd that he left so abruptly. I admit it is suspicious that he left before a big number change and he is the number guy. But I prefer to avoid such speculation, so pretend I didn't say anything.
  • No one said "please nerf XP" or "it's okay, you can nerf XP if you want to." No one even said they typical "Hey, please nerf XP for those *******s over there." Because nobody knew they were actually going to nerf XP. No one can give them proper feedback on anything, either. They don't give us time to, because they know…
  • In many instances, the XP rewarded did not increase proportionally with the XP needed. It was a nothing for some things and a massive nerf to others.
  • Yep. Unfortunately, not the 3600ish they should be according to the OP. Doffing was ultimately nerfed.
  • Rewatched the original Power Rangers with the kids. Still the best show with dudes dressed as robots.
  • They're thinking you'll still be here this time next year simply because you haven't maxed out your specialization sheets yet. They're hanging their carrots on longer sticks. That's all.
  • They'll just knock Argala down another peg or two. They want two things here: they want us to level slowly and they want us to start playing queues and story content (to help their metrics). So, instead of boosting queues and episode replay XP too much, they're trying to make leveling via Argala and doffing as undesirable…
  • The critters definitely got a XP boost, but only a relatively small one. Unfortunately, I never documented the XP per ship before the patch. I don't know how much exactly they gained. I do know there's no randomness to the spawns. I got the same result every time I'd run the mission vs Kazon. Also, today's patch was…
  • STO is the ONLY MMO I've played for more than a month simply because of how rewarding it was, how NON-grindy it was, and how casual and alt-friendly it was, among other things. I wasn't even a Star Trek fan until after I started playing. Now, we get less rewards, which are stretched far too thin with new costs. You have to…
  • Agreed. I got fed up, logged out, and deleted the game. Upon doing so, Arc gives you the option to comment on why. There wasn't much room, but I believe I got my point accross. I'm sick and tired of them throwing one hurdle after the other at their players while so many other things go unfixed. It seems to be their primary…
