This is how I see it as well. If I get a ship it's basically from L'Miren as a way to help out the Other. The dichotomy of course occures between the story and the nature of an MMO.

The only problem with the AFK penalty I have encountered is when I got SNR, disconnected from(as an example) CCA, and upon reconnect immediately auto-warped out and got the penalty. S'Golth is great, Epic with one thing added: A Hangar bay! If you look at the sides of the ventral surface it looks like it has one. T6 S'Golth Escort Carrier. For the Crescent Cannon, don't cut the cooldown time, cut the charging time. 4 seconds or so.

My favorite was when you encounter a S'Golth in one of the Elachi missions and a boff says something like "Captain, I have never seen that class of ship before". I need to see if the doff buffs the damage on the Ophidian cane, it does psi damage as well.

Also try to pick up the point blank shot trait from one of the episodes, it really helps out cannon builds. (Beams as well, cannons moreso)

Maybe just limit Kemocite to one slot per ship? Not sure how difficult that would be with regards to coding. Can confirm that. Is yours T5U? Mine show a S'Golth when T5, but switched to the standard Fed 2 nacelles and saucer when upgraded. The odd thing is this even happens when the character in question is a Rom allied with the KDF.

Fed Tactical, Level 60. During the attack on the station, the rest of Paris' squadron did not appear at all, leaving me to try and solo an Ialdon. After the inevitable, the Ialdon spawn-camped me. Finally decided to log the character out and back in, and then the squadron appeared as it should.

I think the "hero factor" has a lot to do with it. The PC can wreck Herald ships with ease cause he/she is the 'star'. The PC is basically Kirk/Picard/Sisko/Archer.
