  • Indeed. The universe is not so badly designed.
  • Fast turning ship helps - I typically fail on Engi characters unless I'm playing against type and flying an escort at that stage. Also, aim the ship at the next circle marker as soon as you hit each one - don't try to follow the "path" or you'll turn too late in most cases.
  • Ok, I get the former, but why do Ushaan and Kar'takin go together? The latter is a Jem'hadar weapon, don't see either Feds or Klinks using it. Plenty of novelised weapons from Fed species to choose from. Plus they should add "Fry's Arm" to the Coliseum weapon choice.
  • Depends if there was a real Cooper and, if so, when the Undine replaced him. They may have found out about the Romulan gateway experiment after the fact and decided to put an agent on the Sphere, choosing someone familiar with the tech to replace.
  • I assume the initial Undine shot is the "combined fire" Death Star superlaser ripoff we saw them do in the VOY "Scorpion" two-parter. The one that one-shots Borg Cubes and planets. Then they broke formation to fit through the gap, so couldn't use it on us. It can probably only target massive ships or stations or planets…
  • I don't hate this game, but two suggestions: Firstly, at least at SFA, there's a mini-Q right next to the Romulan portal. In a game where players might compete to click on a Q first, this can (and did to me yesterday) lead to mis-clicking and accidentally zoning to New Romulus command. Move one or the other slightly.…
  • Unless he's a time traveller, he's a descendent. Ancestors are people born BEFORE you.
  • I'm going to surgically remove the ability of parenthood from the next person to quote that spamwall. With a blunt penknife.
  • "It's always a game of chess with them, isn't it?" Except with Cryptic, it's a very complicated game of poker, where you're not allowed to know the ruleset, played in the dark, with a dealer who smiles ALL THE TIME. (With apologies to Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman)
  • If they want to balance Roms with the other factions, fine, but RP wise saying "oh, FED aligned Roms can always fly the free giveaway" is just passing the buck. The most likely reason is that no-one is buying the FED or KDF packs and is still buying the Dhael (because we Roms got fugly ships outside of canon or C-Store)
  • Brandon, this excuse is thinner - dimensionally speaking - than the average distance between a Frenchman and anything that a Frenchman might care to sample carnal knowledge of. That is to say, it's pretty ****ing thin. The POINT of playing Romulans is that we don't WANT to be flying Fed or KDF ships. We want that sweet…
  • You don't need to run the missions to progress the rep, they just give extra marks on top of the ones you can earn in the rest of the New Romulus/Tau Dewa block. The only time you NEED to run a mission is once you max out Tier 5 rep and then claim your reward from D'Tan. But have you spoken to the Romulan Civilian in the…
  • You can also visit Defera (Orellius sector block) and beam to the invasion zone for Ground missions against the Borg. The Easy and Medium missions can largely be soloed with about an hour's play and are a consistent source of marks particularly if done during the Bonus Mark event (and most give Fleet Marks as well).
  • No, I play it later on, whilst Googling "Naughty Mature Ladies".
  • Yep, you can run the Cadre recruitment missions from both New Romulus command and Starfleet Academy simultaneously, plus you can still run the race specific DOFF recruitments at SFA. I think that's enough of an advantage without having more racial DOFF contacts at New Rom too.
  • The Elachi. They're just the Iconians' latest patsies, like the Undine and the Tal Shiar. We haven't gone up against the big boys yet.
  • Yes he is. Over by the window past the Exchange hub on the way from the transporter room (the one with the view of the island mountains).
  • Sigh. The sponsorship tokens are bind to account, yes? So what exactly is the issue with allowing us to mail them to our other characters? I'm not forking out dil or cash to buy 1000 zen to unlock an account bank slot when there's a perfectly good way of sending stuff to myself. More to the point, I shouldn't HAVE to.
  • It does LOOK from reading this that the sponsorship tokens go straight into your account bank, which is going to **** over Silvers by requiring them to pay 1000 Zen for an unlock. Why not drop it in main inventory and allow it to be mailed?
  • I kinda like the idea from the Last Unicorn Games Trek RPG sourcebook The Way of D'era that we only see green Rommie ships on screen because those are the colours of the official Romulan Star Navy who are the guys most likely to be facing our heroes, but that Senators and other powerful figures have their own fleets as…
  • This is a nice mission, but I agree with those saying it's a pain having to store your BOFFs armor while you give them suits for the mission, then having to store the suits while you do anything else... if it's some ploy to make money by forcing us to buy extra inventory or bank slots, then I suspect this isn't going to…
  • Actually, changed my mind. Use rally points (I loathe these normally, they only seem to work for me in Shooter mode) to keep your BOFFs back at the penultimate campsite, then pull enemies down towards you. The Hirogen Alpha was still a pain, but he went down without too much trouble (wandered into my Engineer's minefield).…
  • It's possible to kill the first group of Romulans before the "Subdue" objective appears, so they don't count towards it. The patch seems to have moved them back a bit, so this is less likely, but if you pull them using long-range attacks (sniper rifle, etc) and kill them before entering the area where the objective pops…
  • Yeah, this one's insane. The Hirogen Alphas either have enormous regen or each has a dedicated healer, as I've seen my entire team hit them and their health barely drop. This wouldn't be so bad but for the holoprojected reinforcements. Sci captain but focused on AoE damage/debuff rather than healing. Swapping out one Sci…
  • It's been improved - didn't bug for me - but I can see how some high DPS players could still massacre the first mob before the "Subdue Agents" popup occurs. Moving them further back has helped, but a team with sniper rifles could still take 'em out too early. Perhaps initiate the popup from the first Romulan casualty? Or…
  • Yeah, but to be fair to the author, it seems this is a blanket problem with S7 - if you're too far from an NPC, they despawn (breaks all fetch quests) and they might not spawn in the first place. I've previously (pre-S7) completed "Another Man's Hell", which is by a different author, and it's now suffering the missing NPC…
  • The storylines are great, but the missions are a bit buggy - not sure if S7 broke something, but I've encountered non-spawning NPCs in both your "No Good Deed..." and "Sacrifice" missions and I beamed into the floor (unable to get out) during the Nine of Space Deep mission, so I couldn't talk to the stranger in the Temple.
  • I seem to be accruing a lot of marks at present since my other fleet members typically fill the mark requirements of Starbase projects before I even see them (different time zones). An option to convert marks to other Starbase requirements is an idea, or perhaps the ability to trade marks in for extra fleet credits?
  • So, the Exchange lets you buy Doffs that are KDF only when you're on a FED toon? Great. That would explain why my new Warp Core Engineer is unslottable for the Unorthodox Warp Core Breach Recovery mission. Why the *?!* does it let you buy Doffs you can't use? This guy is a green Doff, and I'll be buggered if I can see any…
  • So do Advanced, although they only boost to a base of Transwarp 12, but on my Luna they're getting me to Transwarp 17.44 with driver coil points alone. Elite should be the same as the Borg or MACO engines (base Transwarp 14).
