How does the shape of the vessel determine the best possible placement for weapons? In STO, firing arc is determined by the type of weapon, not the ship's class or shape. And..Engine wash? I don't think that's really an issue...The ion trail left behind by a Federation vessel does not really affect the performance of…
Alpha looks nice..Great form in the artwork..and different enough to be a keeper. I love the saucer design on the Gamma, however the deflector array just seems too chunky and out of place. Looks like a glorified Nova. :# Even though I voted for Gamma last round... Going with Alpha. EDIT: To be quite honest, if these…
Hear hear. The interesting choices seem to have been nixed by the majority - i'm actually not looking forward to seeing the release of the carrier at this point.
I'm putting my money on Sigma. It has a nice compact design that really seems to "work". It feels like Trek. Why do you need a ship that's sprawled out in all directions in order to dispense fighters? Did you ever consider the possibility that Sigma might actually be a bit larger than Omega if it gets modeled?
Peace is a lie: There are only half saucers. Through half saucers, I gain angularity. Through angularity, I gain chevrons. Through chevrons, I gain triangles. Through triangles, my orderliness is broken. The Federation Star Destroyers shall free me.
The thing I don't understand is why people are talking about size already - that is not what this round is about, and you can't tell size anyway because they are all the same size.
A small vessel deploying any fighters at all doesn't seem to be as believable for me. I think they could scale up the deployment of fighters by vessel size. Tiny starship: Satellites and turrets only. Small starship: 3 fighters. Medium starship: 6 fighters or 1 tiny starship. Large Starship(breen carrier): 12 fighters, 1…
Beta looks less like a conventional ship and more of a practical design for a vessel made to haul fighters. I'm going with Beta. To me, Alpha looked too similar to the Prometheus and Intrepid designs - time for something different.
Retiring the main holodeck server? A) If this is a joke, I'm trying to find the humor in it. B) If it's real, well, all things must come to an end and I'm moving on. There are people who have invested five years playing on the server. I guess this doesn't mean a thing. Personally, I feel that this is not moving forward,…
So... They're eliminating the Holodeck server? Excuse me, but I am not downloading 10GB's all over again just to start from level 1. If this is an april fool's joke, it's a bit late, and I'm not seeing humor in it.
Mine is the USS Casey. As in General George Casey from M.A.C.O. Also in SecondLife, it's the name of a training bootcamp for the 'United Federation Starfleet Marines'. My captain, Sara Llewellyn, is a marine in that group.
