  • All the patrols. Solanae space (and ground) battlegrounds. The dilithium mine. Fleet holdings. New Romulus, Nakura, that desert world. The Voth battlegrounds in the Delta Quadrant, the list goes on. I'm quite confused by the negative reaction. I don't see how this harms any existing gameplay - unless you all secretly…
  • Its so nice to hear from one of the devs. At any rate, I am not expecting to see fleets of uninhabited ships flying to systems. Or even for the ships to actually, in any way, to fly to the systems. I expect to select a ship from my selection, and a counter starts. Perhaps 1 hour later, like a DOFF or Admiralty assignment,…
  • It's similar, but different, a refinement of the idea.
  • A version of STO worth playing would have to come to the XBOX One first.
  • I don't know if you noticed, but the profusion of skills, limits of the action bars, means that if you don't use keybinds you are running at a massive disadvantage, and can't clear top end content anyway. Or you've magically found a way to have your mouse cursor in 3 places at once. If so, do share.
  • The ability to transwarp directly to missions is a boon I'll definitely grant - and it does largely make this request redundant - as regards missions specifically. However other mission "types" suddenly also become convenient and easy: * I could send ships to Patrols * I could send ships to space battle zones like the…
  • I thought the environmental suits were specifically there to force the set bonuses to break for those maps. If you want to keep the set bonus there is a quest quite early on that gives you a breather device that *seems* to provide all the protection of an environmental suit for the cost of a device slot. Its worth…
  • Also I had some items that, before the recent level raise, were not ∞ but where blank which I thought was scaling, and when placed in the Upgrade interface became level XIII. But with the DSC update level 65 and XV is the new max, so presumably I could have max levels now. Ironically I didn't even upgrade them.
  • No. No it won't. I queue for TFOs and - when a ground map comes up in the rotation I alt-f4 out. I'm sure many do. You can't force people to play content they don't want to play.
  • Now if only the stupid "hold down control or we'll remind you to hold down control" dialog can be removed.
  • God yes. Or just some sorting options for the list: * Sort by Rank * Sort by Career * Sort by Station And/Or An editable "notes" box for each BOFF with some text that can show up on tooltips etc.
  • The "Plan Screen" is the screen you get when you click on the "Plan" button. It's where you assign the ships, where you see the event name, what extra rewards the event offers offers, and extra requirements the event adds. This screen is the screen that needs the Pass button.
  • The point is that the pass button is only available when looking at the assignment summary - which does NOT show the event reward, or any event based requirement changes. When you actually open the assignment suddenly its e.g. 150, not 50 science required, and perhaps "Event Rewards: None" which makes it a pretty easy…
  • I have pretty much deleted all my characters that are not some kind of recruit and/or have penciled in slots of characters I'm going to create when the recruitment events are re-run. Currently my actively played characters are an AoD - purely because there was no recruitment event, a Romulan Delta and a Jem'hadar Gamma.…
  • I had a low level Delta Recruit that I started replaying recently and these missions are required for completion of the Delta Recruit objectives. They were not appearing for me at all and I had decided that I would complete all the missions I could and then open a bug report for the remaining ones. And then - just flying…
  • I think it was close to R2500 or ~$300 at the time. Seemed like a good deal. I'd recently come off World of Warcraft having spent way more and clearly STO would be even better than that! Or at least good.
  • On the tooltip for Cannons and Turrets (and Beams) the damage class is listed as "Energy Damage" whereas Torpedoes and Mines are listed as "Kinetic Damage".
  • I prefer playing fewer rather than more characters so my plan - which might make some sense to you - is: * Across my toons, have (at least) 1 each of each career: Tac, Science and Engineering: as this means I can craft all the skill manuals. * Additionally, at least 1 toon of each available faction: 1 Starfleet, 1 Rom, 1…
  • Never buy anything with Zen thats not on Special. Specials come around. Never buy anything with Zen thats tradeable. Everything tradable will be cheaper to buy for EC. Wait for the 20Key Lockbox special with ultimate upgrades. Sink ALL your remaining Zen into this. Keep the Ultimate upgrades and use them to instantly…
  • The other game made in literally the same engine is Champions Online. In Champions every major social hub has a portal to "The Armory" - an area where you can change your characters build at no cost and engage in combat against combat dummies. Once you were sure you had picked the right skills, gear etc. you would exit the…
  • There's a word for concealing what you are selling to drive sales when people buy the wrong thing. Unethical I think it is.
  • I'm not sure. What is the point of sector space? It is a legacy holdover. As you rightly point out, DOFF missions require (currently) that you visit the nebulae or cluster and the tour the galaxy explicitly requires sector space. However, all these arguments were initially leveraged at Alerts and PvE queues, and they…
  • So I fired up the console version. Haven't played to the point where it is necessary to auto-trigger skills. My first impression was, the game is a much more polished experience on the console. The HUD mode is the only mode available and results in you really seeing the world that's there. Unlike PC where HUD is broken and…
  • Do you mind me asking why? It is my assertion that the game already has too many social hubs and adding more dilutes, rather than increases their value. This page lists 10 major hubs and 8 minor hubs. Fleets add another 7. I want to include ship bridges in this list because, presumably Cryptic sell them because we buy…
  • Apparently I am showing my age by not being all up in the Twitch.
  • The boffs, and things on sale? All good. The community to build them? Good. The new fleet social hub? Really? No one actually wants that. The only reason these maps are visited 99% of the time is to buy the items. Ive been in one fleet that managed to stage the occasional meeting in the meeting room of the Fleet Research…
  • In general I agree. Why they hell then do they keep on adding more fleet holdings as though we give a damn? "Oh look - a TOS themed station! Yet another place for me to never bother to visit". It would be nice if they spent more time making us visit fewer maps is really the essence of my thought. Perhaps they could…
  • Ima going to download STO for XB1 and see what the fuss is about.
  • They don't actually activate in reverse order. The usual order is left to right - i.e. STO executes the keybinding in order from left to right and it is therefore expected that the first skill that is valid that is encountered triggers and the remaining skills are not triggered because now a skill is actively queued.…
  • LMB or RMB seperately select targets that are clicked on or turn the screen when held and moved. LMB+RMB held together turn the ship to face the direction of the camera. It confuses me how people manage to use the keys quite frankly.
