Not that you can see, but they have to fix bugs in it that people report, any medium-large-scale changes like the graphics overhaul are going to include work to get it up to date, etc. Plus they have to consider the overall experience, if BGO is going to be beneficial to new players and worth the time.

Amen to this, I hope they cut all Delta Quadrant content from the game (except the Vaadwaur). Actually it's from a production design from Planet of the Titans which was a totally different concept from Phase II. It was by Ralph McQuarrie who did the technical designs for Star Wars too.

The Fed starting arc included Soong and Augment experiments so it's not really anything new. They haven't done anything intelligent with either of them so far so if they do bring him back in I hope they give him an actual personality and real motivations.

From what's been said about Tribble, it sounds like the new effects aren't really ready for prime time period (modern console hardware isn't fundamentally different from PC hardware). The first wave of console users are basically going to be QA and loadtesting, which explains why the release hasn't been that hyped too.

The Dominion dred is already in the game, it has been for a while. I think they're just giving it a new model. I'm sure the other one will be available for lobi in the PC version.

Not possible, since they have to run separate instances for each console. Their pops, even combined, will probably never equal PC. The Fed should have more ship diversity in general. The Vulcans, the Andorians, even the Xindi are members along with countless other races. You would think their ships wouldn't all look 98% identical. Or at least there would be more non-saucer-based options.

There is the Jemhadar Dreadnought and Escort Carrier already. I highly doubt there's going to be a Cardassian one since they, you know, suck. Come to think of it, Dominion lock boxes have been around for a while... It's where I got my Jem'Hadar Carrier.

The Scimitar and its offshoots as well as the Scorpion are Reman designs. There's a Reman equipment set you can get as New Romulus rep rewards and the Reman guards consumables. Not bad considering they're a subrace of the most neglected faction in the game.

You're summing up pretty well how things got to this state (Rom and KDF were never full-fledged factions and so were never fully adopted by many players). What exactly do you mean by "creating another version of the game"? Make a sequel to STO? Most MMOs don't fully shut down until years after their sequels come out, and they'll have to do something to make money while it's in development.

It's a good thing Gene isn't alive to see how resentful and bitter some of his self-proclaimed "fans" are. He wasn't Bill Watterson but he wasn't L. Ron Hubbard either. You could always, you know, quit spending money on it if you find it all this to be so morally objectionable. ;)
