If you have any unused bars, you can put each of the abilities into one of those. That will stop them from appearing in the places you didn't want them. Next time it happens, click the very next tab in that window, "join existing." I have always found that whatever name is being displayed in place of the mission name matches exactly with the name of a player who started a mission that is running. This is not quite true. As a lifetime member I do have to wait in the queue. But I do not have to wait as long. When I log in, I am placed in the queue in front of any silver members, but still behind any gold members who got in line before me.
