So Voth's theory is correct

jestersagejestersage Member Posts: 8 Arc User
I recall that before the announcement this month, when the Dyson Spehere's image was first posed, someone guess it was the Voth, and state the reason they would be coming to alpha quadrant want to ensure their birthright theory is correct by makign sure that there are no evidence that state otherwise - in short, pulling genocide on Alpha Quadrant.

So with this annoucement, is that theory proved correct?

Another unbeatable warfront for the Federation is exactly what it needs.

Would be nice to see how the Voth send a cloaked fleet to earth and claim it.

We don't know their reasons for being here yet, they could just be attempting to use the dyson sphere as a home so they can stop being nomadic.
    Well I can't forget a face but I won't remember y'all.

You can't prove a theory, but this doesn't disprove it. As packer3434 said, their reasons are still unknown.

Now is that "theory" in layman's terms, or a scientific theory? Because many people's layman theories have been confirmed when the relevant event rolls around, and a scientific theory is merely a model that is comprised of a group of already-confirmed facts.

I have been one of the people claiming that the new deadly Voyager enemy would be genocidal Voth since about a few days after the State of the Game and that it would be Voth the day of the State of the Game, but that was before they were associated with the Dyson Sphere. There are many reasons why an alien race would try to take over a Dyson Sphere and destruction of an entire world and every human in the galaxy is pretty low on the list. The Dyson Sphere makes the genocidal Voth theory too convoluted. It might be on their list, but there must be a better reason to do it. Why do they need to take over the Dyson Sphere to destroy Earth when they could just send their fleet of City Ships to do it.

I beleive the Voth refer to it as 'Doctrine'.

With Iconian gateways in play we dont even know where this dyson sphere is. the voth are clearly going to be important but there is no evidence to suggest they are even in the alpha quadrant or care about us at all at this stage.

Now if we go to them and start messing up their planes then perhaps things could change and they might start coming after us.

Nah, they came to battle us, because rumor is, that the Federation and it's Romulan alies, as well as Klingons, have been killing the Voth's giant dinosaur cousins in the Alpha quadrant, and making Obelisk carriers out of their dinosaur skulls.

In short, they are plenty pissed and want revenge. Silly rumors...

Well, I haven't played Season 8 yet; however, everything I have read indicates that the Voth haven't come anywhere. They are at the Dyson sphere to collect Omega particles which are an amazing yet dangerous energy source.

If I am not mistaken, the sphere is near the center of the galaxy. The Voth are not on the doorsteps of the Alpha Quadrant or Earth unless they decide to come through the gateway.

The fact that there is a conflict indicates to me that Doctrine is still the law of the land in Voth society. It will be interesting to see if Tova Veer is mentioned at all as he was the major proponent of the Distant Origin theory. He was forced to start a new career and recant his theory.
