It would be interesting, they could technically revamp the alien line of ships that used to be used for random deep space encounters and use them as a "Civilian" ship line for higher level tiers.
If they're going to start balancing the game, they need to look into other areas instead of just APA. APA I've always felt lasted to long as an attack pattern as it is. I think cutting the time down from a 30 second duration to 15 would be a good start.
Better solution, have a perma 23c toon, I have one. I remember an old game called Guild Wars that had a zone that was completely separate from the game called pre-searing, and people there had perma toons that hit max level there. There were also a lot of people who had the same argument on why they couldn't go back, the…
Hopefully they don't completely scrap the other designs. I would like some of these ships as hull options or as new ships. Beta and Gamma specifically.
I voted Theta since: Epsilon looks like someone crushed a star ship together and this was the result. I like the curved underside where the deflector dish is on Theta. The saucer on Theta stands out more than it does on Epsilon. I also like the spacing on the nacelles on Theta, since the nacelles on Epsilon looks too…
It would be pretty cool actually if you could disable ships while playing as Starfleet. Like once a ship hits 0% it's permanently disabled and out of the fight for good. This would be the default for all PvE engagements unless the mission specifies the ships be destroyed. The disabled ship would then warp out of the map…
What would be cool is if they released it as a stand alone single player game. No multiplayer support, just release it for archival purposes to showcase the game when it was in it's infancy. I wish I could have played it for a bit longer though, I only managed to get past the tutorial part.
Just wanted to say that I'm loving the new Club 47. Much more spacious and animated, also loving the El-Aurian bartender. The music is also nice, great work all around.
That would be interesting. I've always wanted bridge officers in space during non-S.T.F. PvE missions. Of course the problem with that is it's no small undertaking, the entirety of those space missions are balanced with one player in mind and would probably have to be changed to account for extra team members.
I hope for the day captain skill respecs won't be charged a fee. I'd really like to be able to hop into ESD or Qo'noS and go to trainer to adjust without having buy. Might be able to fine tune some things as well. I guess I just come from other MMO's that such a thing as skill retraining is just a normal part of game play.
Don't tell me, now we're going to find out that the Ferengi nabbed the secret Undine recipe out from under Papa Undine's nose and are now growing Undine ships thus collapsing Papa Undine's monopoly. :P
If it were a non-organic ship that adopted the design of Undine ships, I'd understand. Otherwise it just wouldn't make sense to see an organic vessel built for one pilot to be crewed by bridge and duty officers.
I'm with you, I mean it never crossed my mind that they could just take ships with 5 tactical consoles already and convert one of them to a universal. :P
They could just say both sides still participate in military exercises even though the war is over. That way they don't have to remove anything, maybe reword a few things.
