One of my toons only misses 2 spec points till everything is maxed out. I think I played the char about 20 minutes each day the past year (ok perhaps 45 weeks I sum given vocation time and party weekends). The remaining XP for the spec trees came out of the doff system. The FE rewards are not even counted, nor are any lock box doff assignments.
There never really was any XP grind in game if one used the game to its full potential, just a tiny bit of patience. If there would have been my other 8 toons wouldn’t be where they are now (not far behind).
If the rewards of the new admiralty system make it to holodeck the way they are on tribble anybody who still “grinds” for XP and spec points is a passionate grinder who simply loves to grind and turns his back on not-grindy alternatives.

My shut-up-and-take-my-money threshold would be an expansion focused on exploration. That's it. Give me a new map with a thousand different worlds and let me go explore them. Let's have episodic content that's all about visiting strange new worlds, talking (emphasis on the talking) with alien civilisations and boldly going where no one has gone before. I'm sick of all these storylines of constant warfare. The ship combat is really fun but in terms of story give me actual exploration stories. Yes I know I can get that from the Foundry for free (and I do) but we're talking about stuff that Cryptic can offer which I'll buy with real money. I'd buy an LTS right now if Cryptic came out and announced that the next expansion will be an exploration revamp with the next year and a bit filled with exploration and diplomacy type stories set in a frontier region of space in the galaxy.
I'm not saying no to new ships and I'd love to see a T6 Vesta, Luna, Sovereign, Hegh'ta etc. But in terms of what kind of stuff I want to actually play, that's what I want.

-An aggressive Romulan ship that has attack wing settings like a Klingon bird of prey.(Not like the scimitar that stops and sits around doing nothing)

Plus the obvious T6 Typhoon and Jupiter (but only provided once you commission them it automatically removes all beard options from your character and yourself ).

I would give Cryptic my credit card, debit cards, stocks, life insurance policy, my first born, and my cat for a ship like that.
edit..That's to many consoles. It would have to be 3 science consoles.

Yes they have picked the KDF quite clean. And I no longer even wait for us to get one, EVEN ONE DECENT KLINGON SCIENCE SHIP.
Regarding the bird of prey being the only thing unique to them, some are already calling that into question as being originally Romulan design.
A Cardassian and Dominion faction (if Jem'Hadar and Vorta can be included like in the True Way) faithful to the Cardassian culture, or at least a playable Cardassian/Dominion characters for Federation and Klingon, plus Hideki, Galor and Keldon classes in the store.
A retcon for the Romulan Republic storyline, in the form of a story arc in which Klingon aligned characters could depose D'Tan and making the return to traditional Romulan values, and perhaps an analogue story for Federation allied Romulans to foil the attempt siding with D'Tan and "non-traditional" Romulans.
