This 100% This is one of my biggest gripes in the game when it comes to graphics.The beams are just to damn thick and need to be thinned down some. Then again Cryptic never has been one for getting the scale of things right.

Hit Ctrl-X while downloading to see what it is.. I can almost guarantee it is the shadercache.hogg file if it is 132MB in size as me and my friend are having the same thing every time we start the launcher that file starts to get "patched".

Exactly.. STO is not the only free to play game out there and there are some pretty good ones and others going free to play shortly. All this is going to do is alienate existing players and drive them away and leave a very very sour taste in the mouth for new players coming in for the first time trying to login to play.…

No not any better at least for me...still painfully slow. Showing 35MB to download and has been at it for over an hour now. Lets put it this way my old dial up 56K modem moved faster than this download is.

I Agree.. And this would not be the first time Cryptic has made an encounter just a tad to much in terms of difficulty and needed it toned down. Example being the mission Stop The Signal...The first missions were decent, however the final Tethys Dreadnaught fight at one point was tuned to be way to difficult to complete…

Ran into a bugged mission from the officer of the Watch Fed side. This one your supposed to go to a weapon test satellite and hail it to bring in an enemy ship you are supposed to defeat. The ship appears and I open fire on it and it instantly warps out preventing me from doing the mission.

That would be a bit TRIBBLE now would it not considering it was a fed character who wore it. Though the sash should have been limited to use on the fed side to Klingon characters only.Seeing humans and non Klingon's running around with the sash on is very very wrong.

Players flying ANY Tholian ship is simply not right. I could understand the Ferengi ship,the Cardassian ship and the Jem Hadar ship.However the Tholian ship is simply pushing it to far in terms of believability.

No it is not a lifetime exclusive perk. You will get the invite along with thousands of others they will be randomly inviting throughout the beta.You will just get first shot at getting in. Because CBS said so is why and that is really all there is to it. And you can be lucky you got the Connie at all as from what I have read CBS was against the ship even going into the game at all.

PWE has removed so many things on this website since they took over it is not funny. 1. Captains profile page 2. Starships page with specs,pics and videos of the ships in action 3. The STO timeline page with the whole story up to the point you start in the game.

Thing is it does not matter if Cryptic is in control or PWE. CBS still holds the ownership and license to Star Trek and still has the final say of yes or no in terms of what can and cannot be added in to the game. Just about anything Cryptic or PWE want to add to the game has to go through CBS for approval first.

PWE does not seem to realize how passionate we are to that IP nor how protective we are to it and I can honestly say that most of our loyalties lie with Star Trek and STO and not PWE or even Cryptic. My name was the same that it was just with a 1 in front. Though this is my 3 year old PW account that I have not touched in about 2 1/2 years since back when I tried out some of PW games and found they sucked to high heaven.

I will be the first to say I do not mind the forums. I like the more clean and straight forward look. This is just my opinion though for what it is worth. So no sign from me. Only thing is that ticked me off is having to dig up my 3 year old PW account I have not used in like forever.
