I care nothing for the crystals as I need an obscene amount to make them worthwhile and I seriously do not care for Doffs. So explain to me Cryptic why do I keep getting the exact same thing no matter what box I open?
Yeah the main ship if only a .4% chance but holy TRIBBLE with the amount I see always popping up in chat, it seems almost everyone but me is hitting that .4%.
Here is what you do then:
1: Open the Doff packs.
2: Post Doffs on the exchange to sell
3: Use the EC earned from the Doffs to buy the ship you want from the exchange.
Dont open the boxes... Put the keys on the exchange.. That gives you about 1.4mio each so your 40 keys would be about 60m and that is usually the prive for the lockbox ships.
There you go. Easy wasnt it?
And lets just forget about how ot looks like and stuff. The main problem i habe with the ship is that its useless. Well maybe thats a bit extreme but its no warship. So its not what it looks like. Only 3 tac slots. Sensor analysis will maybe be able to counter that in most cases but in now way shape or for is this a ship to do dmg with. Also the boff layout sucks beyond description. Just by the looks of it using it as a sci vessel is just plain and simple stupid because well it looks badass-ish and well a bit silly-ish and well its just no sci ship to me although it seems to be made as one. I dont get why you would want to combine that look with a sci ship and i have no idea what to do with it.
If you use the com as a tac then there is no sci left. If you use it as sci there is no tac left. And as i said - 3 tac consoles for the lol..
I wish people would stop buying it just to ?et cryptic know that selling bad stat ships for 800 lobis is not profitable. Sadly propably even 10-20 of those ships sold will bring in the money it cost to make them so they are assured to bring money in.
Still the boff layout and the console layout is just TRIBBLE and well thats what it is.
Dont open the boxes... Put the keys on the exchange.. That gives you about 1.4mio each so your 40 keys would be about 60m and that is usually the prive for the lockbox ships.

I WISH they were only 60 mil.. you MIGHT get something that no one else would want for that much, but just a few hours ago i was seeing ships on there going for 500-600 million.. That would be one heck of a lot of keys..
I Like the look of them. very menacing, and something i really wouldnt want to run into. P.s. play mind games, hakeev's been piloting one of those ships for a while.
As said taste is personal. To me they are rather ugly ships however they do fit in with the Tal Shia story line. Get the accolade and you get one for your ships' floor display, though that one I would like to fly as it doesn't look OTT to me. I wish that was one of the options available.
I watched every single episode of star trek when it first aired in the 60s till i went into the army in 68. Yes, Tholians WERe created in the 60s, at least their ships, but i dont remember ever seeing a single image of them. Much later, The Defiant went back in time answering a distress call from the mirror universe and we see tholians in the flesh, but that was much much later and contemporary to babylon 5..
Then you need to rewatch episode 64 The Tholian Web..
You see Thoilan Commander Loskene on the main view screen of the Enterprise when he contacts them.
I personally like the Destroyer for its looks; it goes with my Liberated Borg theme that I've got going.
A bunch of my Fleet mates were able to luck into or just buy the Destroyer and have stated that it seems quite underpowered.
I'm guessing that's why the Destroyer is going for reasonably low EC prices on the Exchange.
I've only seen the Adapted Battle Cruiser a couple of times in some STF's but it seems like it would be a far superior vessel when compared to the Destroyer.
I'm holding out hope for an Assimilated Scimitar like the one from KA.
It's strange how Dontras Assimilated Scimitar has the perfect Battle Cloak but the Destroyer and the Assimilated Battle Cruisers get weak excuses for cloaks because of the same Borg Technology
This is not as popular box going by the message fly-bys
Jem ships where really flying by from the Dominion and of course not a lock box but the Jem bug in a pack must have made many many millions - 1/100 chance on a 275 zen pack - they were flying by every few seconds for the first few days.
Also many people playing romulans got the legacy pack and/or buying c-store ships and playing with those.
So far I bought the T'varo, T,varo refit, Fleet T,varo, Valdore, Mogai refit , fleet mogai- too many ships to even have time to bother with the lock-box ships
would have been better maybe doing a Undine lock-box with the LoR so as not to over lap too much.
Only thing I dislike is that they put the Leech in it instead of the Aceton Assimilator.
Going with the AA first would have left a nice draw for the new Romulan players to go KDF, bolster our ranks and add some KDF profit to the books, then they could have released the Leech at the end ofnthe summer and still made bank off the feds.
They took the easy route instead....
Otherwise Im as hoppy as a Targ in slop over the new content.
I'm not sure, but I think when against the borg, the agroo on the new tal shiar ships has been upped. If you just get near them, you can agroo them. Pretty cool really.

Ahh.. cool.. thank you.. I may just do that. Those were fun shows, and the did have a habit of putting animated heads on the video screen.. it'll be fun..
I can forgive the Tal Shiar ships, even if they're not to my own tastes (as someone mentioned, great for players running Liberated Borg captains).
My ship-based problem with the box is that they just re-used ships from an older lockbox. That's a weak solution. I mean, I can understand it - lots of work on LoR and the TS Assimilated ships probably left little time for the KDF/Starfleet Mirror ships... But still, it still kind of seems weak. They could've introduced a Mirror Defiant (for all those fans of the DS9 Mirror Episodes) and a Mirror version of a Bird of Prey. (There's been KDF Mirror Cruisers and Raptors, after all, why not a Raider?)

^Words that every player should keep in mind, especially whenever there's a problem with the game...
Ive had a theory for a while now that if you arent a subscriber, or a lifetime member, you will most likely never get a decent ship from any box.. yeah sure, theres tons of mirror uni patrol escorts.. dime a dozen, but for the really good ships including new ones, i think you have to subscribe or be ready to spend hundreds on master keys.. Of course, i cant prove it, and i could be completely wrong, but it sure seems suspicious..
I can't say I particularly care for the aesthetics. However, that being said, the thing that bugs me is that with the limited ship selection available to Romulans (only one non-zen store choice per tier!) Cryptic decided to make 2 Romulan ships and make them lockbox items. Furthermore, I seem to recall something about not putting faction ships in lockboxes because that would dilute the faction....Cryptic seems to have gotten around that little promise by not making them available to the RR normally and slapping a 'Tal Shiar' sticker on the side. Really goes to show what Cryptic thinks about the Romulan Republic in terms of it being a legitimate faction.
As i see it, or rather, in my opinion, it has nothing to do with the Romulans.. They just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Rather, it has more yo do with wanting to create a unique experience for the membership, with incredible graphics and back story, but either not wanting or perhaps not able to invest in a full story line that maintains the Romulans integrity and uniqueness while fitting in somehow in what Cryptic believed to be a playable ( and easily assimilated ) manner with the existing two factions. In the end, it seems Neverwinter took precedence, and at that point, the Romulans were hosed as corporate opportunity and greed took over and funding and energy which had been getting channeled into the Romulan story was diverted away from STO to create this new game instead..

I can confirm you are completely wrong. It's all luck. I got an orb weaver after 20 something boxes. The originial gold boxes had a way better drop rate but were still a risk.
Also if you want lockbox ships just buy them. You take away the uncertainty of obtaining them while saving large amounts of ec.

Oh gods, i dont have hundreds of millions of Ec.. probably never will have. But i dont mind being proven i'm incorrect ( at least in this context )..
:::LOL:; onething I DO have however is an abundance of incredibly bad luck.

Gold subscriber here who has opened between 250 and 300 Dominion lockboxes the last 2 months... All I got to show for it ship wise were 9 mirror vo'quv... They fly like **** and they sell like ****. And all I wanted was 1 JH HEC. Had I sold the keys instead of opening those boxes I could have had that stupid ship a long time ago.
I actually suspect that for the first 1000-2000 opened boxes the drop rate for a ship is way higher then all the boxes that are opened after that. Maybe that is also the reason for the sale on keys untill the 23rd of may.

the odds of winning the top prize are around 1/200
than means you could open 10 and get it - open 200 and not get it - I know of people on the last several lock-boxs that have opened 200+ and not got the top prize
odds are just that - over time they will equal out - flipping a coin has a 50/50 chance - but you could flip it 10/20/30 time in a row in get heads - of course the odds of that happening get lower and lower after 2 times.

And your absolutely correct.. For me personally those odds are perhaps one of the most disheartening and discouraging aspects of the game. But, heh, ive got my little ship.. I may have had o buy it in the cash shop, and it may not be joe cool and classy, and it will maybe never stand up to compete with these newer ships, but its becoming a very nice little ship..
Whoever says a piece of hardware or a starship is ugly, in my eyes it is beautiful, the Tal Shiar ships are very nice, 99% of lockbox ships look great, but i am also the person who says that an alienware PC doesn't look that bad.

At first I didn't like them, but the Adapted Battlecruiser is growing on me and I might get one some day.
Like its been said there are plenty of fans of the Narada, but I'm not one of them.
