I can think of a number of things the past 2 days that bug me. The issue with the launcher yesterday and the time it took to repair said issue. Ok so I used a tunnel to get the patcher loaded. Once that was done I no longer needed the tunnel I can connect to the patch server and I am patching right now in fact. This should help narrow down the problem.

Honestly now I am getting irritated. By this point I would expect at the very least for them to have located the problem and be working on a solution or an official workaround or something. But the latest update they are still investigating. Yeah someone needs to light a fire under some rears.

Ive got to at least question the wisdom of posting an upbeat state of the game while many players are unable to connect due to an issue. Just a suggestion maybe hold off on the good news next time until the problems resolved.

Cryptic is located in California. The servers are located in the Boston area. Better for people across the pond.

Cogent rarely says its having a problem even when its in the middle of a major problem. Not all issues can be fixed with a patch. For example if its an outside issue with the isp no patch in the world on cryptics end will fix it.

New java updates roll out all the time. Especially when they are trying to fix a nasty little bug in it. The STO launcher pulls from IE components I forget the details but its basically using a webpage. So no surprise there.

That is the updater program for Java. So its unrelated. Your laptop is wanting to update your current version of java with a new one. Which I would recommend letting it do.

well I just attempted to pull my router. For once that did not solve it. Really messed up this time.

From what Ive heard this hit an hour before the patch. Either its a time traveling bug it for once the patch did not break something. At least not this.

In internet terms I am right on top of the server. And yeah I just found out this started before maintenance while I was asleep. So my money is on the isp blocking access again. They have a history of these issues.

Its official they have done it again. This is an issue either with cryptics ISP or with the routers themselves. If your seeing this error right now odds are good your being blocked. You can sometimes get around this by adjusting settings on your router or by disconnecting the router. It tends to crop up after maintenance…

The biggest thing I have seen running into the hive is getting people used to the idea that the floor can and will be used against them. My suggestion would be to have a couple of red shirts beam down with the team and add a cut cinematic showing them get vaporized by the floor. The visual aid should help enforce the idea…

I would have less problem with this than I do giving say a new player all the rewards just because they buy a LTS.

They can not by definition be veteran rewards when someone starting today can instantly gain them. They don't fit the definition and to be frank I find it insulting that comparatively young accounts can now prance around with the full gauntlet of 1000 day veteran rewards. Just because they can afford to shell out for a LTS.
