I doubt there are many foundry authors that have a better understanding and working knowledge of states/triggers than me... including their limitations. I only say this just to make sure we're all on the same page.
I think I may have narrowed down the cause of this... or at least have a better working theory. I did a run through of The Omega Fallout (ST-HO39X8MNZ) tonight. This is an old mission but I recently made a few changes. Most of the stuff was very minor... a couple costume updates and fixing some text/object titles. However,…
I forgot to confirm this. It's happening in one of my missions, too. Boffs are getting stuck in a triggered horizontal forcefield (The Omega Fallout ST-HO39X8MNZ). I know this sort of thing has always been dicey, with triggered stuff, so who knows... but it does seem much worse than it used to be (or should be).
My initial thought was the same... manual publish/door issues/etc. But I think there might be more to this. I've recently been tweaking my missions for the Top 3 and have been running them for testing. Today, I noticed 2 things in "A Taste of Collateral Damage" (ST-HPMDJ5JQR). First... pathing does seem a little wonky at…
There's the "scanning beam" or whatever it's called that makes a pretty distinctive sound. I used it in my last mission. Also, in a map I was working on for an unpublished (and probably abandoned) mission, I sunk a ToS medical table into the floor so I could get that sound in the room. I remember some plants make noises,…
It can be tricky but do-able with a little smoke and mirrors. Something tells me npcs inside a planet might get messy... like them popping out. Maybe put them inside an asteroid inside the planet. That should also keep them somewhat stationary. I remember Kortaag's mission (Amicus Apparatus) had a sequence where you fly by…
It was roughly one hour between your posted idea and your resignation. A total of 2 people responded. The forums are an odd beast. Insider communities as well. Those who talk the loudest or the most don't necessarily represent the whole or have the best ideas.
You felt the need to come into the PvP forums to say this? Hate to break it to you but this is where PvP is discussed. Do you also go around to the forums of other, under represented communities and flame them? How about the foundry forum? I bet their community is even smaller and therefore their opinions would matter even…
New project is in the initial stages... some maps are coming along nicely. The story is still scattered in my head. Impressive how you guys all seem to have titles before you start. That's always the last thing I do.
Hmm. I already fixed my mission to accommodate the new animation. I have some borg that need to be dead and placed rather precisely in their alcoves to avoid clipping. Changing it back to the old face down will require another edit, which will be a pain. :( Though I wouldn't mind having both "dead" options available.
Thank you for the review. A few comments: Long story as to why the floor is the way it is... but I dig it. Haha. It's ok... it's supposed to be funny. I've commented on this in other review responses. I have done everything possible to minimize the pathing issue. At this point, let's just say your boffs are free to roam…
The answer to this and almost every other question here can be found in this thread. TL/DR version: crypticfrost is awesome and had them turn on the editor early so we could fix our missions (while keeping reviews disabled). Publishing errors are the same as in the past... try to publish during off-peak hours until it gets…
Thanks for the solution, crypticfrost. Much appreciated. Last night I was able to get into the editor and republish two of my missions (both started at the old ESD wall console #1). Publishing was successful for both and their new starting doors in the new ESD worked just fine. If you are having problems publishing, I…
Cinematic focus: off Shadows: Off Dynamic Lighting: Off Underwater View: Off Max Physics Debris: lower it In your case of "fuzziness," the dynamic lighting is probably the culprit. But I recommend playing with the other settings I mentioned as well.
Not only that, it starts at the old esd wall console #1. No missions with esd starting doors are currently working (unless it's an npc). I'll let you know if it gets fixed... otherwise, it won't be playable for another month or two until the editor comes back online.
Like crypticfrost said in the post I quoted in the OP, this can probably be fixed once the editor comes back online in 3-5 weeks and manually republishing your missions. I've heard reports of pathing issues as well. That is usually fixed in the same way.
Thank you for the pictures. That's how it's supposed to work. Unfortunately, neither of those consoles work as a starting door for either of my published missions on holodeck. I have scoured every inch of ESD with my missions added to my "in progress" list to make sure the door wasn't elsewhere.
Most of the exterior maps are all the same exact size. A few, pulled from Cryptic missions, may be sized differently. Off the top of my head, the Nopada desert map is probably the biggest. However, be advised you have a limit of 64 buildings per map. This includes actual buildings (like Starfleet Military Base - Large 01,…
