Pretty much already answered, but I'll add some further clarity. You CAN use the TOS skin on the Kelvin connie. You CANNOT use the Kelvin skin on the TOS connie.
Unfortunately that is propaganda spread by the perpetrators to try to stay out of trouble. The truth is that if it were just client side demo-record meddling, no one other than the perpetrators would be able to see it. But since other people have seen their little attention seeking shtick on the live server, they have…
By the way. Some people are like "hey, they aren't hurting anybody. What's the big deal?". Well, I'll tell you. If Cryptic allows people to run around with Shatner or Stewart's face, and they haven't paid those actors to get their likeness, they might get in legal trouble. So while it might seem like innocent fun to run…
Various lead designers have also blamed CBS throughout the years in podcast interviews. I've heard it over and over on Priority One, although I stopped listening to that a long time ago.
Absolutely my dude! http://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/1020330-ask-cryptic_-november-2012 Credit to this reddit post which gave a summary of a lot of the old quotes about an in game connie: https://www.reddit.com/r/sto/comments/2cgc90/may_as_well_get_this_thread_out_the_way_t6/cjf7xmd/
Just had a great idea: the OP should create a foundry map to show an example of how this ruined Bajor could look. Kind of like a 'proof of concept'. Not a full fledged mission, just the haze and ruins and Bajoran bodies or something lying around. It would be really interesting to see this idea brought to life!
Monster Play is a great idea. On that note, I cannot think of any species more monstrous than the Bajorans. Maybe they could be the monsters we fight against?
Since there is nothing wrong with the subject of the thread itself, please only remove/edit the inappropriate comments rather than shutting down the entire thread. Please do not throw out the baby with the bathwater!
This thread may not have much longer for this world, so I'd like to make a significant point: This is not the first thread of it's kind. That is to say, this is not the first thread discussing the many negative qualities of the Bajoran race, and interesting ways to explore those negative qualities in game. However, these…
Apples and oranges. Some people like to celebrate at funerals, some don't. That is a matter of preference. But you are literally executing every enemy you fight in the game, because that is literally how the game is written/made by the devs. You can RP something else in your head while you do it, but your RP does not…
Even if you allowed enemies to attack you first on your first play of missions, that doesn't change the fact that you killed every single one of them and took no prisoners. I know you said you RP that nonsense stuff you wrote earlier, but that's just in your head. The way the game is written/made, you execute everyone you…
See, we're talking about two different things. You are talking about some nonsense RP you have in your head when you play the game. I'm talking about the way the game is actually written, by the people who actually make it. Maybe if they inserted some dialog about any of the things you just said, that would be different.…
Seriously, think about this. You have to climb over a mountain of corpses to get to max level. Cryptic has written intentionally this game in a way where you never give your enemy a chance to surrender. You shoot them and shoot them and shoot them until their ship is a smoking fiery heap, with the people inside burning…
A very fine suggestion in a forum filled with mostly nonsense complaints. I would like to add this as well: as a part of the war between the rival hate groups, one group developed a doomsday weapon that would genetically target and kill all members of the Bajoran species. This weapon was only intended to be used in the…
The great thing about this game is there is no "pay wall". Even if these items weren't on the exchange, you could still grind dilithium to trade for zen to buy them from the zen store. This game never forces you to actually open your RL wallet, because even the items in the zen store can be gotten through an in game grind.
Games are all about self respect. If you can't respect yourself, you can't respect others, and you can't be a productive member of the gaming community. Druk gets it.
Fair point. Let's use your "Khan" example. Sure, he only made 3 appearances(counting Into Darkness), but he is one of the most iconic villains of Trek. I will grant you that. Now the question is: just because Khan is one of the most iconic villains, do you want him to be the main bad guy in every season going forward? If…
What is with people these days? You don't have to not like something just to ask a question. I never said I didn't like time travel. But just because I may like something does not mean I want it all the time. Plus, your comment about time travel being "integral" to Trek is flawed. Yes, Trek definitely has time travel in…
If there is nothing wrong with this, and it doesn't hurt anyone, then everyone should be allowed to do this. Life isn't fair, but games are supposed to be, at least in the rules. We can't have different rules for different people.
Yes my fleet and I do have a few tricks up our sleeves but I won't be discussing them here. Suffice to say we enjoyed the forum reaction after pushing the R&D packs over the 1bil threshhold!
