I still wish we could get that lizard tail in aliengen. T_T Mr lizard tail still shows up in the game, and last appeared in the opening briefing scene of the final mission of the last Terran story arc.
But yeah, I know caitians and ferasans have different head shapes, but I still hope they could tweak some existing hairstyles (like the newer versions of old hairstyles) and make them available.
I also forgot, as of Lower Decks, they've shown caitians can have a lot more color pattern variety. Like T'ana's calico coloration. Wish we could get that (and consistently appearing pattern options in character editing) here.
i don't understand why they would it'd be easier to keep the base head geometry the same so you didn't have to make seperate stuff for each race, but i dunno how they did it.
Allowing TOS characters to change into the main Fed faction aliens after their own timeline seems like a good compromise.
I was not aware that was even possible since it is technically crossing subfaction lines, and even if it is I doubt many would use it since the people who are into roleplay enough to build a character to a particular concept generally would not like them starting out as some other race for the long TOS tutorial before they get to 2409.
And the people who wouldn't care about that probably would not bother to change the race once they get to 2409 unless they just cannot resist trading the original racial traits for one blank trait slot.

Its not possible right now. However there is talk of potentially opening up 2409 Fed species through the Captain Alteration Token at some point. If it comes to pass or not is the question. It kinda depends on the Code.
More Hair
caitian captains have clipping issues with Terran Odyssey and most Terran sleeveless. But Terran Excursion Cropped Has missing body parts.
Caitian Bridge Officer is broken in the store. When trying to clam it say unable to compleat transaction. The price of the product has changed. Please verify new price before purchasing.

If reporting a bug then you should of posted in the relevant sub forum. This being a general discussion your bug report will get overlooked and not seen by the devs.
Honestly, at this point I'm wondering what the point would be of adding an existing species to an existing faction. Even if it's done through the Captain Change token.
I'd rather have the Devs focus their limited resources on adding truly new species or adding new (mini-)factions. If anyone wants to play a Caitian, they can just do so through the regular Starfleet faction.
What's the point of having the same species in two different factions? Had they been included when the TOS faction launched, then it would have been nice. Now it would basically just require a lot of additional work, without it providing a really new experience.

Because people want the TOS asthetics, and the ability to basically be M'Ress. They want it for the Space Barbie.

Space Barbie is the real end game
Sure, but TOS aestatics can be had and Caitians can be played - just not at the same time. Seems to me that Dev resources are better spent developing new things instead of combining already existing things, is all I'm saying.

In fact, the only TOS aesthetic that can't be combined with Caitians is the old-fashioned gold-glitter beamout and handheld communicator. I just went in to check and put Ch'rowl into a TOS captain's uniform complete with the sleeve stripes for rank and the old sew-on patch on the chest. If I wanted to (and could afford it), I could get him a T6 Connie to level in. As it is, I can put him in a T6 Paladin and slap a Ranger skin on it...
F2P people are limited in what they can afford (many of them cannot afford anything at all. though most seem to have at least some small amount of entertainment budget), and TOS is the most out-of-pocket expensive era the game has so far. For many, the workarounds mentioned in this thread are not viable options, and on top of that the beamout effect and communicator are important parts of the space Barbie for their characters.
Also, for them the Pioneer is often the only way to get the TOS style bridge since the cstore one is way beyond reach as the pack it is in costs more than most monthly utilities. Really, the Pioneer should be a T5U like the Dominion Bugship the Jem'Hadar start out with (except it would need to be leveling of course) in order for the TOS characters to stay TOS in a way the F2Ps can afford, but that is a different matter.
Another big factor is that only real TOS characters can be Temporal Recruits, so if someone wants to do that recruitment with a Caitian, Violacian, Ithanite, Zambean, etc. they are SOL unless the 'Alien' tab is added, or the size and color restrictions are lifted on the TOS 'Human' tab in the character generator (though Caitian could not be done with just size/color options of course).
It is not a gamebreaking lack by any means, it would just be a very appreciated addition, and it would probably get people to make more Temporal Recruits to try them out (or for some probably even to buy race change coupons). And sure, the 2409 and DSC kludges do work to some degree, but all those little annoyances I mentioned (along with missing the extensive TOS tutorial with them) make them less immersive than if they were done in the proper subfaction.
I'll agree that TOS caitians would be nice, but for the moment, let's appreciate the work that was done for the caitians.
SWTOR has a 'cat' race in the Cathars, all you get for that is a tiger roar as a social. Meanwhile you get pounce for all your caitians/farasans here, and big thank you to all those who were involved (some probably aren't there anymore) who got that added, because it's an awesome melee exploit attack.

I would also like to point out that Caitians/Ferasans also have a higher Jump height than any other species in game.

Oooh, yes. I remember on older versions of spacedock there would be competitions for that where we brought out our caitians and tried to see where all we could jump to that originally were inaccessible but caitians made them accessible hehehe. Think it was done on qo'nos in first city for ferasans as well

There's definitely some interesting places to explore with that extra jump height

and it makes exloring known places easier like Nimbus III
Nope. They just get an extra trait slot to make up for the lack of race specific traits.
and i tried it yesterday and you can't make some wierd cat species thing... never saw the option for feline...
nope. kitties are C store. you will not see them in any non-paywall scenario without having to refund everyone who bought said kitties
True, but they could add just the ears and tails to the aliengen stuff to make neko type Caitians like the Kelvan ones without stepping on the cstore Caitians, especially since 'alien' does not have access to the extra jump height.

Exactly. And they can also give us the reptillian tail that one Starfleet NPC has.
I will not be happy if Cryptic gives away another race I paid money for
I support the demand/need for TOS Caitians. NOT having them is a terrible missed opportunity.
The best way to implement it is, IMHHO, is to make TOS Caitians part of the existing Species Unlock so people aren't paying for the same species twice. Those who have it can play in either era.
Would be nice to see more beard & hair options for Caitians too, but i think TOS Caitians should get priority since that Adds Value to both the existing Unlock & the TOS Starfleet.

Any possibility of additional existing hairstyles being tweaked so Caitians/Ferasans can use them, too?

Because Alien isn't "if you own this it unlocks the option", all options it has are always unlocked.

That sounds like a good option to me.
