That's exactly what it is. That's why I'm using its trait on a Monitor class. I like larger ships. But it is essentially fluff. The Typhon is a flying hanger (or three). It has some science canonical wise, but it's essentially an escort.
I think that ship is the one that has parts of its decks made out of a sort of canvas-like metallic fiber that when deployed are stiffened by structural integrity fields to be solid enough to walk on without them being like a bouncy castle , which, along with most of the empty space in the hanger bays, are flattened out sort of like those popup trailer-tent camping things or the bumpouts in some RVs until deployed for action.
Or something like that anyway, I heard it secondhand since I never played the game and so never encountered the lore firsthand or really cared about it much. Rather weird for Trek, with a Niven-esque style more than anything else, but certainly doable with Trek tech.

Hmmm. You are the carrier guy, Pottsey. It's lot of money for just the Mk 2's. I do like to stay on theme as opposed to max DPS. And I have a lot of nostalgia for Invasion... Having two fights of Valours with bonus Valkyries is very tempting from a space barbie perspective.
yes i burned a 100% coupon but the carrier doesn't come with the new fighters they are locked in the bundle, which is pretty sad
How did you use the T6 coupon? Or is this a different coupon? Whenever I take my T6 coupon to the Z-store, it tells me that there are quite a few ships I can get for 100% off - but all of these are 25% off Zen, with no option to use the coupon.

There are two types of T6 coupon. One works on any T6 ship. The free T6 coupons we get from events only works old T6 ships. Free tokens always exclude the latest ships for a certain amount of time.

Interesting. I was unaware of the first type - how does one acquire those? (For future reference, obviously, as it seems unlikely I'd get one before these ships become more easily available with the second sort.)
I liked the Heritage bundle but they goofed on the Achilles class. It should have been a battlecruiser at least. The hexa pulse phasers should have been a octa mount as is in the Dominion Wars game.

I don't mind the Achilles being a Destroyer. Differentiates her from the Avenger line. Also they wouldn't have been able to make the Hexa Cannons an Experimental if the Achilles was a Battlecruiser.
As it is now, you can have the Hexa Cannons as the Experimental on say a Defiant Escort outfitted with a Cannon build that includes the Quad Cannons. So you got more dakka for your dakka!

Some of those expensive large bundle packs like the anniversary packs have T6 tokens in them. I have been told those tokens don't have the new ship restrictions that the free event tokens have. The other T6 tokens are also bound to account so no trading. I could be wrong but as far as I am aware all tradeable T6 tokens are the limited ones.

Ah. Bummer. Okay, I'll just have to resign myself to a life with the limited ones, and get these ships in like a year or so, barring a sudden magical influx of cash.

Nope. The tradeable T6 Coupons generally do not have restrictions.
The T6 Coupons, such as the ones from the Event Campaign, are bound to account and will not allow purchasing any ship that appears in the "New" category.

It sort of is a battlecruiser though, as it has 5 forward weapon slots. Ships like the Chimera, which I think was the first destroyer type in the game, only have 4.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
Then again, upon checking I now see that the Hydra also has 5 forward weapon slots and is classified as a destroyer.
This stuff gets more confusing every year. Just like how it's totally unclear what makes a 'full carrier' a full carrier.
It just says '[Ship Class-name] Carrier', but yeah, it can be confusing. They need to remove 'carrier' from all those not a full carrier and just stick with something like 'Flight Deck Cruiser' etc for them.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
Carriers have always been an issue. Unless you get really meta and specific (specific ships) or go for a lesser powered fluff build, you can only go for flight deck carriers. Which is a huge shame.
The fix is relatively easy. Just add secondary defectors to science carriers and to balance, give them less science slots and more engineering slots.
The fact that the Monitor clearly has two delectors in it's design but only one in it's stats annoys the tribble out of me.
For the Micro-Quantum Torpedoes Phalanx Array uni console from the Achilles, does it still fire upwards when mounted on other ships? I was presuming so, but I've heard that normal torps fire upwards on Achilles, so I'm now wondering if it fires out of the normal hardpoints on other ships.

Other ships wouldn't have the vertical launch system the Achilles has, so in theory they would shoot from the primary torpedo launch system. Which would probably look better on a ship like the Nebula or Lexington that has a weapons/mission pod.
The one gripe I have though is that the Torpedo Point Defense doesn't use the Phalanx launchers like everything else. The Tricobalt Tear and Quantum Artillery Barrage does, but the Torpedo Point Defense I swear is coming out of either the nose or the deflector of the Achilles. And I think the Quantum Warhead Module does that too.
I love my Achilles! This beast is great for making all my problems explode! I really wish you released these ships while Gameprint was going. I need a model Achilles!
