So the Achilles will get an additional console slot.
Which means it's going to be even better and more powerful. Nice!
Now, I hope the Zen charge website works this evening. Cause I've been trying to buy the ship, but that's kind of difficult if I can't buy Zen.
I wouldn't count on it their website seems pretty much gone for good.
EDIT:Mods should probably inform the devs (if they already have not done so) that website including the store is pretty much impossible to use currently, with the store link giving nothing but a blank grey page when you click it.
EDIT2:
this being what I get when I try accessing the store link from the top of the forum
Rather strange; I was able to buy zen a couple of days ago--it's how I got enough dil to buy 250 prize packs prior to the Phoenix event (so I could get 13 upgrade tokens 😁). Or is this a different website you're talking about?

It's the Arc store page from spiritborn's screenshot. The one you get when you press the 'buy zen' button in the C-store in-game.
I don't think the issues have been present for long indeed - it seems they began when the general news page also started having problems. Which was probably last Monday or Tuesday.

I think they're aware of the website's issues in general.
It's kind of odd though that it's taking this long to fix. Surely this must be a priority, especially with a new bundle coming out. And I'd think (I know little to nothing about this stuff though) that website maintenance would be easier than updating an entire and much more complex MMO game.
So the Achilles will get an additional console slot.

Even in its bugged state the thing is a BEAST. I was just having fun with her on my Tetryon character, and slapped pretty much every artillery type console I got. Torpedo Point Defense, Quantum Artillery Barrage, Tricobalt Tear, and the Phalanx. That thing... is just evil. MUA HAHAHA
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

The Achilles is one of the few Federation ships lately that I really like visually, odd as it sounds it actually has a noticeable amount of googie aesthetics to it like the TOS connie did (though in different ways than the Enterprise did) and is not so much the tired old art deco Hollywood is so stuck on nowadays. It is nice to hear that it is good system-wise too, which makes it an even stronger contender for purchase.

I especially like its trait, and its console indeed.
I've got a few torp characters, including an all-energy one and a few that use them in combination with drain stuff.
The console, while slow, does some serious damage.
I think I might also use it on an Andorian ship, visually they combine rather well, in my opinion.
I had this new toon, that I wasn't sure what ship to fly on. Well, that's no longer an issue.
I'm even considering making some rather impactful extensions to biographies of existing characters, to explain why they're going to fly a wholly different ship.
To be honest, I have a LOT of legendary bundles to buy to finally catch up, once I start pulling in paychecks from my new job. This is definitely going to be one of them. I also hope they start selling 32c ship bundles, because I'm one of the relatively few people who actually likes the concept of detached floating parts to ships, giving them a super-futuristic look.

I don't think so. We do have doubled up events running right now with the tail end of the Summer Event and the Campaign Event starting. So please don't start doomsaying.

This is not always the case: considering the game was running on fumes for a while...then got a massive resurgence in popularity due to the revamped event schedule as well as lots of new ships, bugfixes, giveaways, and episodes. The game could definitely use more frequent episode releases, but I can understand how that's not exactly possible, given the small size of the development team.
Besides that, if the game were on the verge of being shuttered, Cryptic/DECA would straight-up tell us. I honestly don't see that happening any time soon, considering the burgeoning popularity of Trek in general, as well as plans in place for 2025 and possibly even 2026.

What "plans"??? One new mission every three months? We used to get one complete story arc every three months. New content has slowed to a crawl and all the desirable ships from the new shows are behind Lockbox lottery paywalls. When playable Romulans came out, that was a massive number of players. This? This is just pitiful. An attempt to continue to milk loyal fans while putting out as little content as possible. Even these latest episodes... let's fight the Borg, AGAIN. Are we out of ideas, Cryptic?

Cryptic isn't as big as Square Enix or Blizzard. And the QUALITY of the story missions has improved greatly. I'd rather have high quality missions over small fillers like Of Bajor.

I never thought Of Bajor was low quality. Sure, it doesn't have lens flare and a whole lot of glitz but a good story doesn't need that sort of filler to stand on it's own. I'll defend the devs any day on the (superior) quality of the earlier missions they created.

To me Of Bajor felt like it was JUST to show off the new Bajor social zone. Yea it had had some story to continue that arc, but... it felt like busywork to me.
Don't get me wrong Bajor's a beautiful map, but again... it was the busywork that I didn't like.

Yeah it felt like lower decks tasks you somehow had to do as a senior officer
A lot of missions are like that, but it's unavoidable--sometimes you have to "push paperwork" (do scans, etc.) in order to progress the story, like in actual Trek episodes. Thankfully most episodes have at least some semblance of combat/action.

That's precisely why I did like it. I enjoy Star Trek for its exploration and science themes as much as fighting. I understand that it doesn't always make for exciting gameplay, and I certainly wouldn't want every mission to be like that, but when it's done infrequently, it's a good change of pace in my opinion.
If Star Trek were only about the combat, it'd be a rather shallow game, and little more than a two-pronged MOBA. I like that this game touches on at least most of the nuances of the Star Trek fiction writ large (exploration, diplomacy, research, crafting, as well as combat).
GAME OVER

I like exploration too. I like Echoes of Light because its less combat and more adventure. But Of Bajor felt like a series of fetch quests back to back all over the map just to show off the new map.
