Really happy with this bundle. A little disappointed that the Typhon has Cmd/Cmd BOFF seating. Not great for advanced hanger consoles either. I'd have taken MW FDC anyday. The ship is essentially a flying flight deck!

The extended hanger bay is a must for carrier captains though so I'll be picking that ship up on console release. I just really wish they had made the valor class Fighter default on in. It's a real shame when pets like the Kodai and Valor can only be accessed with the bundle...

I prefer the design of the mk1 over the mk2 so I'm not sure they warrant me forking out for the bundle, mk2s seem essentially the same but with torp yield 2. I'll have to wait and see what people make of them.

Final remark is just well done! The best bundle since the terran bundle. Real nostalgia hit. Interesting ships and some great work by the team (including that amazing trailer).

Ah tribble it, I'll get the bundle. You deserve it.

Its very early in testing but the mk2 seem to be 50% stronger then the mk1 fighters. Again early in testing but the trait + 4Pc Obelisk set is effectively 4.3 bays worth of pets.

I wish we could remove that third nacelle-thingy from the Premonition though. I'm fine with not having more options as in having more replacable parts. But can we at least remove it? I like how the rest of the ship looks, it's a fine, sleek cruiser.

But that thing... It has a weird angle and it looks more like a strange handle in case some huge Cosmozoan needs to grab it, while it's flying in space, to throw it away or something like that.

That's the most defining feature of the ship (without you can very nearly kitbash this ship 1:1 with Sovereign and Archon) and modeling it without comes at a real cost to dev time (rigging the option, modeling the gaps, designing what you model, and adjusting textures). Ultimately Cryptic prioritizes authenticity and needs to make priority calls on niceties. This falls in the same category as someone wanting to remove the Chekov's/Springfield's mission pod. Would be nice, but it's hard to say more than that (reasonably).

PS. It's also the temporal drive of the ship (see. being an integral design facet setting the character of the ship), not a warp nacelle. The *Premonition* isn't just a funky Sovy.

I'm sure it has its function. It's still ugly though, in my opinion.

I'm probably not going to be trading out my Elite Valkyries for the Elite Valors, but then again I always liked seeing massed Torp Spread 3x12. So many torpedos...

And I wonder if whenever we get the Lamarr class if the Premonition will be tied into the Lamarr line.

What does the set do? Does it give you more of your own pets or is ir swarmed?

I never played whatever game(s) these ships are from, so no nostalgia here - and if I had a hundred bucks to spare, I'd be flying any one of these tomorrow.

That's the temporal drive, the source of its time-travel ability 😁

They came from 3 games that date back to turn of the millennium:

    Achilles- Dominion Wars (2001)
Premonition, just like the Borg Assimilator a few months ago- Armada (2000)
    Typhon- Invasion (2000)

That makes me feel old 😆

Don't feel bad, I played Champions before it was online, starting with the first paper edition, and I watched Star Trek TOS when it first aired

That means you must have your own opinion of Strange New Worlds then :D

I've still got Armada and Dominion Wars, as a PC gamer I never owned a PlayStation so I had to rely on my mate and we played Invasion on his, though he wasn't a hardcore fan like me! :D

It's awesome. And the tabletop Champions was vastly superior to the online version, mostly because you can't make characters like Yin and Yang (twins whose powers were vastly increased while within two hexes of one another) or Bluestreak (who could fly, but no higher than four meters because he was afraid of heights) in CO.

I'm 50 so remember the old games well. Don't worry about age. Remember, Picard was 58 when he took command of the Enterprise!

This is the second Bundle where I've bought the ships separately with my big stash of 100% off coupons.

Like I did with the ships in the Genesis and Command Carrier bundles then? 😁

I'm toying with the idea of doing the same with the Responder bundle. Are the mirror material variants worth the Zen when I have seven 100% coupons and no other ships I could use them on? As far as I can tell that's the only plus to getting the bundle, seems like a no-briner to me.

The 4PC gives you 8 Swarmers which is 1 bay and a third of another bay. Plus it lets you give EPtX which I use EPt weapons for pets. Unlike other summons the Swarmer count as Hanger bay pets so are boosted by everything. Just like the new Typhoon trait. Effectively we can now have 4 bays and a bit worth of pets.

Been doing more testing. I don't think the Valor mk2 are 50% stronger more like 20% stronger after more detailed testing.

I would go as far as to say Elite Nausicaan Stinger Fighter and Valor Mk2 pets are identical bar the damage type and both are the strongest pet in game for people who don't have pet firing modes like SAD or Droneships. The Mk2 are as strong without SAD as Valkyries are with SAD. Valor don't benefit much from SAD though.

In my experience the Valors get both FAW and Scatter Volley. But it does seem to be more effective when a fighter isn't mixing beams and cannons like with the Valkyries or my Elite Slavers..

I wondered about that. Valks are all pulse. It's actually incredibly important as the Mk2's are the only reason I am considering the bundle as opposed to just getting the Typhon. The Sniper rifle seems nice too though...

    Okay,
now that I've seen the ships in game, isn't the typhon a little small to be a full Carrier ? its smaller than my Lexington's nacell. maybe scale it up by 50% lol >

From what I've gathered it's essentially a hangar (well 2 hangars if you want to be technical) strapped to a basic propulsion system and lack much of the additional systems most Starfleet vessels have. Also it's from a visual source material so the size was locked down as is, if anything it might already be bigger then the source material.

EDIT:It was small enough to be transported docked under a Sovereign (ENT-E to be exact) as that's what happened in the Source material.

You can buy the ships without buying the Bundle as far as I know.

That's exactly what it is. That's why I'm using its trait on a Monitor class. I like larger ships. But it is essentially fluff. The Typhon is a flying hanger (or three). It has some science canonical wise, but it's essentially an escort.

yes i burned a 100% coupon but the carrier doesn't come with the new fighters they are locked in the bundle, which is pretty sad

Sniper Rifle is pretty good, and scratches that itch of TNG movie rifle without shiny bits. Downside right now is a couple visual bugs, and lack of audio. With luck they should be fixed in this upcoming patch, if not soon.

Mk2 have the edge. They don't gain a massive amount from SAD but enough to push them beyond MK1 with SAD. How much depends on what you are fighting. Unless you really want the fed themed version I would say just use the Stingers. Or test Stingers out before buying Valors.
