I've been waiting so many years for an event like this to happen! I was hoping to get the Iaidon from an Iconian event... but that giant mace is good enough! plus Iconian ship weapons! I'm so excited!
Been a user of Perfect World Entertainment since 2009.
that's what this topic is about. its talking about the event.
Absolutely I'm also looking forward to this event.
Having a choice of playing ground or space is a big plus for me as it adds variety.
The space weapon rewards from this event also compliment the anti-proton build I made for a character that flies the Alliance Rex Pilot Escort I got for free earlier this year from the King and Collective Event.
That mace sounds like an interesting weapon, but not sure about the omni (considering we already get a set omni in Sphere of Influence). The dual heavy cannon might come in handy when I get around to building a new character (maybe the temporal event--which might take place after this campaign event, but who knows?).
Unfortunately, I'm currently hit by the "No News available" and "404 error for blogs" bugs of the website that have started to happen this week and randomly appear and disappear.

Yeah this week there has been a lot of shenanigans with the forums, the website, as well as the Arc client today. I already reported one of them to support involving broken links for latest posts on the Arcgames main forum page.
Could not care less about the ground weapon; I hate maces. The space weapons, on the other hand, are looking very nice, and I'm definitely pushing it for the Event Campaign. Even though it means going through "Gateway to Gre'thor," which is several different kinds of annoying.
I swim through a sea of stars. . . .

Gonna use Mod Color for this. Yes Kael is aware of the issue with the news feed and is working on it.

Well we don't have a HERALD AP Omni that I am aware of.

It's not a set omni. It's a crafted/weapon pack omni so you can equip it alongside a set omni.
What's the point of getting more melee weapons when the playstyle severely suffers from clumsiness - and when its sole benefit (dealing shield-ignoring damage) is completely trivialised by other stuff getting that same benefit?
I might use it on Defera a few times and then it'll likely be put in my bank. Just like most other melee weapons I once collected.
ok so we have Herald Sphere, Gateway to Grethor and Brotherhood of the Sword.
Herald sphere is going to be the longest,
Gateway is gong to be frustrating because there will be 3-4 of the team that are I pew pew pew that's what I do
and Brotherhood will be the same, because most of the team will be frosted boot sprinters who don't have a clue about consoles, let alone the troll engineers who will drop cover shields in choke points
The cover shields have their use even if some deploy them incorrectly.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Well, at least with normal difficulty being solely available, those speed runners won't be able to fail the mission with their haste. That's one positive thing I guess.

Same here, though J'Ula's mekleths and the furidon fangs proved that they can kludge up an almost modern melee combat style without changing the outdated underlying combat system. If we are very lucky they may have even put that kind of kludge in the mace (though I doubt it). Unfortunately, I get the feeling the weapon script they used in those two was something bought instead of developed in-house, or else that the scripter who did it isn't one of the current devs).
The torpedo is something exclusive to the ship, they should keep it that way, imo.
It was a bad enough decision that they released a better version of the Maelstrom torpedo right after putting the original on an expensive Legendary ship. I personally don't use the Herald torp, but to me it would be indefensible to keep the paid-for item suboptimal for so long and then suddenly release an improved version.
Some stuff should just remain exclusive to those who paid for it. But that's my (probably unpopular) opinion.

If it means getting stuff where one does not need to either pay big $ or draw pentagrams in goat blood on the floor to get, I'm for it.

I would agree with that, if the Herald Torpedo wasn't stuck at Mk X, common quality, non-upgradable and non-modifiable. At least you can upgrade and modify the Thermionic Torpedoes that come with Tholian ships.

Dude...if that's the case, I'd be marking out SO hard, because that would possibly be the first time we'd have a non-set omni as an account-wide unlock. The Pahvan one we got a couple events back is a set omni, so it kinda screws with using the ancient omni AND Pahvan omni. I also predict that crafted AP omnis will drop off in price due to this event.

I don't think the Maelstrom Quantums are inferior to the Triflouride Maelstroms. The Quantums hit harder, with a slightly longer timer. The Triflouride doesn't hit as hard, has a slightly faster timer, and leaves powerups behind. I personally think the Quantums have a better visual.
Its a case of preference really. Just like everything else in game. You may prefer the Triflourides over the Quantums. That doesn't make them "better" overall. It just happens to feel better to you.
Another example of preference would be Legendary Sovy vs Command Sovy. Some may say the Legendary is the better ship, while I personally feel that my old Command Sovy is better. Doesn't mean one is objectively better than the other. Its a preference.
Just to let folk know the quickest of the three TFOs seems to be the Brotherhood of the Sword. At least if you have a team that knows the mission. Timed runs of Brotherhood and Sphere, both felt quick. Brotherhood was 6minutes 10 seconds, Sphere was 10minutes 44 seconds. Didn't time Gateway, but with the transport run I'm sure it's longer that both of the others. Sphere and Gateway both have time gated sections, whereas Brotherhood doesn't. You just need to be familiar with how the mission works.

Well... the only timegated part is the phase two transport runs. If you got high DPS, phase 1 initial attack and phase 3 dreadnought attack go by quick.

From how i read the blog it is the weapon used by defilers so yeah I say it is a weapon slot item.

Indeed I want one as well.
