So i'm wondering why we are not getting any feedback from the devs about this. In an ideal world they would put things on hold and fix bugs that hinder progress. As a paying customer i feel we should all be compensated for this kind of thing if you don't plan on fixing it
I had my very first DR replaying SoI and ran into that bug. Thankfully she found her console she needed (don't know how she didn't get that one or the one in SBS, but now she can go on and get the other eps she hasn't played yet.) Hopefully the bugged one in DQ will be fixed soon as she hasn't done that one so will need it for completion. Just glad there's no time limit on completion, I've had her for years and play her occasionally to progress her.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything.

The game is Free to Play. Any payment you make is of your own choice. You are not losing anything in monetary forms by not able to play this mission.
For everyone else, the devs are working on the issue, the last update they game (which was in this weeks 10FWD) was this;
Cryptic is aware of the "Sphere of Influence" bug with the "simon says" portion not having the icons show up. Jesse tried to replicate it internally, but couldn't, and its being looked into now by the software team.

Besides, there are superior items to be had in the reputations pane. The Gamma Task Force warp core comes to mind, and is available early (from tier 2 onward). Use it on a MW ship to make full use of the cyclical slipstream and zip around at warp 52.8!

True the rewards from this mission are outdated. However, this mission is part of Solanee Dyson Sphere episode which is a required arc to finish for unlocking rewards for the Delta, Gamma, Temporal, and Klingon recruit characters. Yes, not game breaking but annoying. This bug has been around before so I'm sure it'll get fixed; we just have to wait.
I mean, it is technically still possible to finish the mission, but having to blind-guess your way through the Simon puzzle is tedious. At least it "saves" once you get each section correct. Imagine having to do the entire three-stage puzzle all over again if you mess up...and at least there isn't a limited time to get it right.
The devs know about the problem, but could not replicate it on Redshirt, so they've decided to send the problem off to the software experts. That means that they're actively looking at and attempting to solve the bug. So that's good news.
Well it seems this bug has reappeared, I ran into it yesterday, tried again today, redid the mission several times, but the colored puzzle just doesn't appear and there is no sound, so it can't be completed based on that either. It's very frustrating and annoying to have a problem that has been fixed and resolved appear again. I get it guys, this Cryptic - DECA thing is really bothering you and keeping you busy, but the players are very frustrated.
Actually, Sphere of Influence has a good warp core/singularity which is a decent holdover until you can get the more powerful Gamma warp core (the Obelisk warp core offers 100% slipstream turn rate, cuts slipstream cooldown in half, and a 20% slipstream speed bonus). If used on a miracle-worker ship, you get the cyclical slipstream drive, which gives you a maximum of 90 seconds of slipstream speed, and a minimum cooldown of 15 seconds before you can use it again...meaning you can spend a majority of your time cruising around the galaxy at warp 39.6 (if you have the slipstream speed boost skill active). VERY useful for Tour the Galaxy.

Exactly... and it should also be mentioned that you don't get the story thread bonus with any recruit character if you skip this mission. So it would be nice if this bug was fixed as soon as possible ... again.
On a KDF Recruit, I have re-ran the Sphere of Influence story mission 5 times so far. Every time I get to the gateway platform during 'The Other Side', the graphics for the puzzle do no show. When I go to reconfigure controls, I get a message saying 'Correct' then 'Repeat' but no symbols are showing anywhere.
Dropping the mission, signing out, leaving it for days does nothing to resolve this.
Same here...not just on a KDF Recruit but all Characters...this is an old Bug that keeps comming back...would be really nice if it was fixed and than STAY fixed......
True alters don't have a "main". Account wide unlocks for all unique event and mission rewards!!

My question regarding the bug affecting both Sphere of Influence and A Step Between Stars:
Will this affect my ability to advance through the Dyson Sphere and gain access to the Battlezones there? Will it also affect my ability to access the Delta Quadrant?

The episodes should not affect your ability to progress through Dysn Sphere just skip the broken ones and go back to them when/if they fix them. Unless they broke the skip function that is.
I think this sort of thing is prob why they added the skip function.
Just played the mission, can confirm the bug still exists despite reports from other players that it has been fixed.
Well, it *was* fixed. This thread just happens to go back 6 or 7 months to the last time it broke before this time it broke.
Yeah, I've run into this bug a LOT. They have actually fixed it more than once, but a subsequent update breaks it again. Like others, I've submitted tickets and been told "Rest assured that the developers are already aware of the issue and are working on a fix. " I guess maybe someone should remind the devs that any updates AFTER they fix this bug should not break it again. Very Frustrating!!
Still no mention of this in the patch notes or known issues.
(And yes, I know they *must* be aware of it by now, I just wish they would actually put it in writing.)
There is normaly a mini Game repeat the colours...
But there were no Symbols shows...
So you cannot solve it.
In Reddit same problem...
The color memory puzzle is not displaying. I get the list of colors/shapes in the dialogue box, but the pattern to repeat doesn't appear. Anyone else have this problem? Googling turned up nothing, and switching off Lighting 2.0 didn't help.

I have a feeling when they patch the fix, along with several of the other recurring bugs the newer patch contains the broken code and not the fix so they are basically over writing the fix with the broken code.
They kept doing that with the boff related bugs awhile back and then it was fix with 1 patch next patch breaks it next patch fixes and so on until they permanently fixed the bugs.
But they do not seem to have learnt any lessons from that debacle. At least if its the same problem now.
The issue with that is that this bug reappeared following the February 29 patch, and has not been fixed since, despite three additional patches having been applied since then. So that particular patch is what is needed to be troubleshot in order to possibly determine what caused the mission-breaking bugs to reappear.
Also of note is that whatever patches fixed the bugs in the past would need to be examined, in hopes of finding a common thread.
The "call and response" segment on the final platform does not flash the color-coded symbols before asking the player to repeat, so unless one gets extremely lucky in guessing, it's not possible to activate the gateway to get to the next part of the mission.

This problem persists and apparently cannot be resolved, so why do many of us buy a Lifetime subscription of €300 if the bug is not resolved, it has been around for almost a year. After a long time I finally wanted to let a certain character go further in the game and I had to play this mission and I came across this bug and what should I do? Stop everything again and continue with another alt, when will it finally be resolved so that we can finally move on?
Yeah, this is getting old. SO busy making new stuff and ignoring old issues it feels like. Seriously, either include a method to SKIP the damned "puzzle", or fix it!
