I can't afford the bundle this year, but after looking at it I'm not too broken up about it.
The Hangar pets look interesting, but not worth buying a bundle that's over 13k zen and includes at least one ship I already have.
I do like the Chekov, and am surprised to be the only one commenting on that versatile seating. I'll probably get it as a single ship, and maybe the Atlantis too.
Those two ships do look really good! I'd love to check them out too!
The Ahwahnee should have been a Flight Deck Carrier. Why can we not have one good c-store carrier that's in the style of Starfleet, Klingon, or Romulan? The Cardassian Ghemor is good, the Jem'hadar carrier is fun. But all the other good carriers are all premium alien ships.
Edit:
That all being said, the ship looks beautiful, the pets are interesting, and the console looks to be the best carrier console, so that's a plus!
Edit2: lol
Ok, so... after looking this over and watching some videos. It looks like the focus on engineering consoles, (presumably for the Hangar Craft Power Transmission consoles) combined with the universal console and trait are intending on going all-in on pet damage and supporting your pets, rather than the other way around. encouraging a different type of playstyle... may be interesting...
The Bundle is a mixed bag for me.
Some things appeal to me while others most definitely do not.
Will crunch some numbers to see if i go bundle or T6 coupon.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

Personally I am loving the Ahwahnee though I will be flying it like a pure Command/Engineer Carrier with zero science. What videos as I heard a few people mentioned video which I seemed to have missed.
but not any other skin for the ship. even the new skin only has a single shuttle bay door from what we have seen of it
Game logic? Same reasoning explains why the Legendary Akira is one of the worst escorts in the game?
that was just the low hanging fruit i could also go into how the constellation is physically too small to house most frigates in the game as a full carrier. "game logic" still needs some base logic too it.
and the legendary akira is a cruiser something it really should have always been given how it was shown in other media. but even then it is at least a decent ship in it's won right unlike the new t6 cheyenne that is really only useful for the pets and console if they work how every one is expecting them too.
Very disappointed in the setup of the Cheyanne/Stargazer, they made it a sci carrier really not the same as the T5 ship and only one tac console so I couldn't even use my torp build on it, looks like I'm gonna have to wait for a Legendary Stargazer now, I mean come on that was flown by a hero Captain Picard so it should get a legendary version. Have absolutely no interest in the rest of the bundle.

Not so sure the Cheyenne/Ahwahnee is only useful for the pets and trait. The layout on it looks very strong if not near perfect for my type of carrier build. Not only is the console trait and pet looking strong but the ship itself looks like an amazing Engineer style carrier platform.
Oh look, more Borg stuff to further trivialise lifers' 'exclusive' playable species.
nothing in this bundle takes form the life time sub?
It doesn't 'take' anything away, no. But on top of the ships, costume items, ground kit powers etc., these liberated Borg traits are yet one more thing they never bothered to add to the veteran species to make them more interesting.
Why even advertise with an unique playable species and then add all the stuff that fits the theme everywhere except in the subscription? It's not just this one thing, it's all things combined that have made 'liberated Borg' accessible to everyone.
And not just that, they're far superior. Lifers get a species name in their bio, a mediocre trait and a skin option. Everything else, from uniforms, other tailor options and good traits to ships, is sold elsewhere.
The point then, is that players without a subscription can play better as a liberated Borg than lifers nowadays. Even though it was the lifers who were supposed to be the only ones who could play as liberated Borg. That's how all these releases have taken something that was unique to the life time sub.
…I do like the Chekov, and am surprised to be the only one commenting on that versatile seating. I'll probably get it as a single ship, and maybe the Atlantis too.
I like the Chekov as well, I kind of I dig the weird saucer shape that makes me think of the Klingons Bortas, the Vor’kang, and Vor’ral class battle cruises, and I mean that in a good way. I do very much hope there is a proper Springfield Class hull option as well.
If I were to pick it up, I’d want it to blend in with my Nebula, Monitor, New Orleans, and Dreadnaught Cruiser. I’ve always liked the Galaxy Class aesthetic, just not the specific way they are arranged on the Galaxy Class itself.
In terms of more standard looking Federation Cruisers, I love the Ambassador Class far far more than the Galaxy Class, and there were several Ambassador Class cruisers lost at the Battle of Wolf 359, this could have been a lovely opportunity to do something new with the Ambassador, Narendra, and Yamaguchi Hull in a specializing other that Temporal.
Thanks for the Advanced Light Cruiser, Allied Escort Bundles, Jem-Hadar Light Battlecruiser, and Mek'leth

T6 updates for the Kamarag & Vor'Cha
Heavy Cruiser & a Movie Era Style AoY Utility Cruiser
I'm rather sad with the Devs interpretation of the Ahwahnee as the T6 Cheyenne as a carrier. I didn't see this coming and this is not one of those nice subversions of expectation experience. It border's the nonsensical. The chassis for the heavy cruisers is still kind of small. I get that the Constellation has a plethora of hangar doors surrounding its thick saucer rim which likely inspired the idea, but I don't see how it could carry more than a single hangar, like the Earhart or the Clarke.
Even the Ahwahnee's artwork only has the single hangar out in the back. It doesn't yell out 'carrier' anymore than any other cruiser. It's like the feature was bluntly slapped on the chassis 'just because'.
I should be getting onboard with the Flight Deck Carrier bandwagon: at least then most of its cruiser identity would be preserved with the extra weapons and the possible switch of bridge officer seating. God knows we need a nice Flight Deck Carrier that's an actual 2410+ Starfleet ship.
...but I feel ill-at-ease because a Flight Deck Carrier wouldn't make any more sense than a Carrier does. Many other ships would have been deserving of that classification such as the Legendary Akira or the Jupiter. And yet... we know how those went.
I could let my fondness for the Cheyenne take over and more mindlessly just grab it to toy with it. I mean, I've been here 14 years and novelty is nice. I'm also especially fond of the Cheyenne even though it looks more like a future Constellation... and I thought we had enough of those with the Sagan. But even if I would just go along... is a Science Carrier. I've flown science carrier I liked such as the Jupiter. And, in time, it just get obvious that you're in an underperforming ship where you have to put in more effort and investment to only achieve the lower average of what other players are able to achieve with less of a sweat.
Plainly: Science Carriers are not fun! I've worn weary of playing something I want to like and underperform because of bad design, which the Science Carriers are! Stop perpetuating them if they cannot be saved!
Finally, I'm going bitter, because this was the most sought after vessel for me in this bundle... and this was it. It was our chance to have a T6 Cheyenne. We got it! And I'm not going to delude myself with thinking there's going to be another one. The chance to get a T6 Cheyenne has been squandered. I would have loved to get one, but that's not what we got.
A Flight Deck Carrier might salvage some of that, but even still, that wouldn't be a T6 Cheyenne.
I am rather put off, enough to bother about posting on the official boards. I could go on with elements such as the bundle not having the Picard S3 costumes I hoped for (because that was the potential thematic I saw in a resurgence of the Borg post-viewing PIC S3); the nonsensical premium ship no one wanted; or wax on at length about the Atlantis being the homerun I never saw coming... but I think others have spoken their piece over those topics already.
I'm disappointed, and the Rex Alliance Escort is the only thing preventing me from truly thinking that STO is starting year 2024 with a whimper.
Any, you know, individual ships coming out again, or is it gonna be bundle onlys?
If the last two are anything to go by... yes you can get the ships other than the Adapted Destroyer on their own.
I want that rifle, and I've saved up for the bundle so I'm gonna pull the trigger on the bundle. Also need those ship slots on a character anyways. She's my TNG themed character and has all the current TNG themed ships and no more slots for the new ones.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

I didnt think there was a ship I cared less about that the rumored inclusion of the Parliament... then the Tal Shiar Adapted Destroyer showed up... and I learned there was indeed a ship I cared about less.
I would have probably bought the bundle if it had included the Parliament, some of the exclusives are neat and would fit my borg themed toon... and for my main I like flying fed ships... but the TSAD just sorta kills it for me... doesnt even have a useful console/warpcore because their locked to the two adapted ships... What a huge miss. Hopefully its either replaced with a different ship or a new one is added before the sales start, otherwse this bundle probably dies pretty quickly.

Just wanted to say thanks for the Checkov. A battle cloak would've been nice, especially after the Cyclone made clear that Starfleet isn't avoiding them any more, but this is fine.
My biggest disappointment is that after all this time we still don't have an Intel Strike Wing Escort. So many Intel ships, but if you want some pets to go with your Intel seating, your choices are the extremely weak hull on the Caelain or the sluggishness of the Vengeance, and nothing better in either capacity than those two.
And of course, nothing Klingon. They really should add a big disclaimer in bold letters on character creation that simply says "Don't expect any new content for this faction because you're going to get a reskin once every couple years at best." I feel sorry for any new player, rare as they may be 14 years later, who starts playing under the mistaken impression that Klinks will get even a tenth of the content that Feds do.

Such as? Atrox and Jupiter are your other science carriers with an eng lean (in the c-store) and I find it disingenuous to say they're better sci carriers to a dual spec MW/CMD rocking a hangar pet apocalypse buff universal console (and 5 eng AND 5 sci consoles). Your other choices are either leaning full sci (Jem'Hadar Vanguard, Monitor) which the Ahwahnee still equals in science console space, hanging out in the middle (Seneca), or in premium formats with much, much, much higher costs (but still don't offer the ability to max out advanced hangar console space AND science. Where premium carriers tend to shine is in their TAC leanings). Basically, the Ahwahnee looks to be one of the best sci carriers in the game, if not THE best, because nothing else allows such intense specialization in science carrier core attributes while still offering a punchy console to buff the build further.
PS. the advanced consoles have become incredibly cheap on the exchange thanks to Elite Random TFOs, and should be recommended to newbies as one of the most accessible paths to power now, especially where there's obvious synergy like carriers. There's no point in excluding these from one's "could this be good?" calculations. Folks are free to dive headlong into them.

Yeah, as another lifer I don't see any conflict between the traits offered here and my XB. For one, they're labeled as mirror Borg. As a prime XB, my character isn't going to take to that gladly for RP. Same with the new costume options this season. There's new Borg traits from lock boxes that do fit the RP theme but those are relatively cheap and handy to have on other species in the event of desired synergy. Species traits in almost all cases are invisible as the effect and difference in buffs is incredibly marginal. Even between my ROM and my human FED, I don't notice the difference in crit buffing vs. hull regen. XB also aren't alone in having traits they can plausibly theme themselves to available in other forms. Ex. Vulcans, Klingons, and Humans.
Nowhere in the game was it ever stated that your species traits will never be superseded by future development. After 14 years, that's going to happen, and I'd MUCH rather let Cryptic experiment for everyone's benefit with oft requested themes (ex. Borg) than hold out to feed a sense of exclusivity in a minor aspect of the LTS. The best Liberated Borg parts are still exclusive to them, those were not distributed to other players, and things like the lobi Borg gear are also *supplemental* rather than core to the XB experience. The LTS XB is just not a magic ticket to all future content development, hording material like a greedy dragon, and that's okay.

There might be better options for people running Sci Carrier builds although I cannot think of any. For someone like me running a pure pet damage build and is running a Engineer Command style carrier. I can find no better option then this new ship. It has a perfect layout for optimising my pet damage for my style of build. Plus is looks great as well and even looks like an Engineer Carrier. I would take this new Carrier over any FDC. It might not be to everyone liking but I love it. I see it as a superior version of the Seneca.
The Mandukar's special console and warp core are still ship-restricted. Couldn't that be lifted at this point, especially if the ship is an anniversary bundle bonus?

I don't see why you would reach that conclusion.
And good for you. I don't really see how it's relevant, I'm not saying that all lifers should agree with me, I'm just stating my reasons for not being interested in paid products any longer.
The one ship I wanted is the worst ship in the bundle. I don't care about the meta traits that will get nerfed after everyone buys them. Hard pass for me!

I was SUPER excited for the borg probes, but ...they're really dumb. How are these supposed to benefit from hangar pet consoles, hangar pet traits, etc. when they literally just run in and kill themselves immediately? Does that even benefit from the +torp dmg from the consoles?

Based on my initial leveling of the new Carrier...
Its interesting. Yea she only has one Tac Console, but properly outfitted and running the Type 7 shuttles, it seems to balance out. Instead of stacking damage consoles for yourself, you're getting 12 stacks of AP Beta from the shuttles.
I think the new carrier will suffer fighting Terrans, but she is one that is a bit more reliant on her hanger pets. Not amazing, but not terrible either. And this was just with the standard issue Type 7s she comes with. The character I ran her on does have Superior Area Denial, and I did slot my own AP Beta as well, so other than the turn rate of a bus (Base Turn Rate of 7) didn't do to bad in patrols.

Notable missions: Apex [AEI], Gemini [SSF], Trident [AEI], Evolution's Smile [SSF], Transcendence
Looking for something new to play? I've started building Foundry missions again in visual novel form!
The USS Princeton has the same registry number as the USS Seneca: NCC- 95800
Vendorians?
I don't see why you would reach that conclusion.
And good for you. I don't really see how it's relevant, I'm not saying that all lifers should agree with me, I'm just stating my reasons for not being interested in paid products any longer.
