The theme of the Alliance Ships has been Antiproton. Why has the new ship an experimental Polaron weapon which doesn't fit the theme? Yeah I know its a Fed / Jem'Hadar mixed ship but should it not go along with previous Alliance Theme?
C-Store Inc. is still looking for active members on the fed side. If you don't have a fleet feel free to contact me in game @stegi.
Is it just the new experimental weapon or are all the weapons Polaron? If it is just the experimental one, then it may be something else like a drain or shield penetration effect (they had things vaguely like that in the Dominion war on DS9) and just have "Polaron" slapped into the name to convey the idea that it is a Dominion experimental weapon rather than doing any significant Polaron damage itself.
Until the devs publish the details there is no way to know for sure.
Looked to me like Antiproton for the normal ship weapons. So yeah not sure why that's what i m wondering about.

The Polaron Experimental probably reflects the Dominion side of things. To get the most out of it you'd probably need a Polaron build, but that is the beauty of STO. You don't have to stay with what something comes with.
This ship is nice and all that but it'd be nice to get faction specific ships. Seems like the ROM and KDF side of the house are being forgotten in favor of just FED stuff.
This isn't FED stuff, either. It's an Alliance ship, which means you can use it no matter which faction your captain is with. As for Klinks being forgotten, there seem to be an awful lot of ships out there that look like angry flying brickyards, not to mention the ones that somehow belch flame in the vacuum of space. The Roms might have a claim on being neglected, because while they do get ships they don't get that many ships, but really their people have never sought a wide variety of ship types (probbly because the original Star Empire was described as being very resource-poor, so they wouldn't have been building things as experiments very often).
For events like this it would essentially be same ship copied 3 times and 1 with minor modifications for Romulans, sure the art would be different but that's generally the easiest part, the stats would be more or less identical. You want to leave factions specific ships to the store or special events for that faction.
@jonsills right mate, Alliance ships aren't faction specific, which is what I was talking about. I'd like more faction specific ships and such. I get that it's cheaper to make one ship for all sides instead of several ships for them.
Cheers.
Event ships are hardly ever faction specific. I can only think of two instances - the Dyson ships in the 4th anniversary event and the Odyssey and Bortas classes in the 2nd Anniversary event.
EDIT: There were the Ambassador and Kamarag classes in the 3rd event too.

We did have the Eisenberg class released for a winter event after the actor passed away.
OK, but not exceptional. About on par with most Event ships lately, but better than earlier ones that only had one Specialization Bridge Officer. It gets full Pilot Maneuvers despite only having a Lieutenant Commander Pilot, which is fairly noteworthy. I find having only Lieutenant Miracle Worker not as impactful as say a Lt. Intel, as Mixed Armaments Synergy I and Narrow Sensor Bands I don't seem to give as much of a boost as Override Subsystem Safeties II for me, but still probably worth using over extra Tactical. I've been hearing good things about the 'Fly Her Apart' Pilot BOff ability post revamp, so that might be worth playing around with. Lieutenant Commander Universal I'd probably go Sci for budget cooldowns using Photonic Officer II.

"Bridge Officer Stations:
1x Commander Tactical
1x Lieutenant Tactical / Miracle Worker
1x Lieutenant Commander Engineer / Pilot
1x Ensign Science
1x Lieutenant Commander Universal"

Ah yes, good point. I'd forgotten about that.
