Anniversary Giveaway

With the lead up to the anniversary event the very generous giveaway from STO has begun. When you are able to log in, today collect 4 free ship slots,

Note the 24 hour time limit to collect these generous giveaways applies. Today you have till 10am PT tomorrow to claim.

    Also, based on the description, it looks like the slots unlock on whichever character claims them from the Store, so make sure to pick them up where you want them just in case.

    The slots unlock on who claims it. if that character is at the max slots, then it creates an account bound package

    Just received this list in an email about the 13th Anniversary..

    Rewards:
    • January 19 - 4x Ship Slots
    • January 20 - 1x T5 Ship Coupon
    • January 21 - 1x Elite Services Starter Pack
    • January 22 - The Motion Picture Uniform Sale (It will be 100% off in the Uniforms tab in the Zen store)
    • January 23 - 2x Fleet Support Duty Officer Packs
    • January 24 - 2x Elite Bridge Officer Upgrade Tokens
    Except for the Uniform Sale, the giveaways will appear in the Promotions tab of the Zen store. Rewards can be claimed once per account.

    Assuming that list is correct I can probably skip the t5 coupon and the TMP uniform (I think I got it), the rest seem like something I might be interested in.

    A lot of the time, the list IS correct. Those emails are usually sent out by the marketing team.

    The TMP uniforms have been a giveaway before - those of us that have been in the game for donkeys years likely already have it.

    On the Promo tab of the Zen store, only until 10am PST on Friday (that's GMT-8 to the rest of the world)
    It's only 1 toon, not account-wide, but hey, the inadvisability of examining the dentition of complimentary equines, eh?

    It always ends noon the next day for my timezone and the next appears. So noon-noon for Central
    Now a LTS and loving it.
    Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
    I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything. :D

    That's a nice list -- even the T5 can get you the missing piece of a console set, or a ship skin unlock.

    Considering the source is Cryptic itself (I got the email to), I think we're safe......or are we!? :lol:

    Yes, the source is Cryptic - which is why you need to be even MORE cautious. I would sooner trust a fifth party to be correct over Cryptic anymore.​​

    It's a shame the bort autocannon cannot be used on other ships.
    This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    Last time I used a T5 coupon was to buy one of the T5 Andorian ships for the skin, I accidentally bought the wrong variant however so I guess I can use the current token on the variant I missed.

    That schedule spans a weekend. In the past, Friday's giveaway spanned the weekend, and they resumed on Monday. I'm betting that we don't get anything today.

    Last year was the first year we got different things each day, including the weekend, but certainly before that Friday-Sunday was 1 'bigger' freebie.

    Now, I cannot help but wonder who is supposed to be proof-reading but clearly isn't...

    A question about - Elite Bridge Officer Upgrade Tokens...
    Am I correct in my understanding that if I use this on a Green BOFF, even that Boff become Elite?

    I believe that Boffs will be auto upgraded to Ultra rare (that's the highest I think)

    It says, and I quote,
    Applying a token to your Bridge Officer will instantly add:

    Upgrade to Ultra Rare, upgrading all Inherent Traits to maximum rank for their respective types
    It doesn't say it'll increase by one rank, or by X ranks, but "to Ultra Rare" - all the way up, no matter what their current rank.

    It is like using an Ultimate Tech Upgrade but on a Boff instead of a piece of Gear.

    It is worth noting that the upgraded Traits only upgrade if there was already a Superior version in the game. For example: A Borg's Efficient will become Superior Efficient, but a Krenim's Temporal [Engineering/Science/Tactics] will remain the same.
