Winter Event 2022 - It's here

Devs or community managers,

Any word when the 2022 Winter event might start? Looks like there is a Red Alert event from Dec 1 to Dec 8 and the current Campaign feast last until Dec 6th. So is the start Dec 6 or Dec 8?

This is truly a great event year after year IMO.

    extremely easy to figure out :) latest thursday :) 12/8 If they hold to the schedule they have had for a few years now.

    I agree, it could be the 8th or following Thursday. Keep an eye out for the announcement as they do post the announcement 2 week's before winter event.

    I've already migrated my characters to their respective homeworlds. I just need to make christmas outfits at some point.

    One week actually, so if true to form it should be announced tomorrow.

    It just isn't Christmas time until psychotic rage-filled snowmen are running amok and a giant angry Fek'ihri tries to stuff everybody in a smelly sack. Also, KLINGON ICE FISHING!!

    The Red Alert event is for Consoles, likely to 'plug the gap' between the "Emperor's Will" event that just finished and the start of the Winter Wonderland.

    It used to be 35 days long, not 6 weeks - but it would frequently be extended to around 40 days, which is almost 6 weeks.
    Back then, the event required 25 days worth of progress to get the event reward ship. Nowadays, the event only requires 20 days, which is why it runs shorter, at 30 days.
    Of all Winter events in the games I've played over the years, STO's remains the most fun and bonkers of them all. I wish it could go on for another week or so.

    Now that I know what day its on i will likely be coasting the next few days and take some much needed time to relax till Tuesday. Doing things like character imprrovements on some of the characters that need tweeking.

    Too bad the Red Riker BB gun will most likely only be usable on the Winter Wonderland map. Would be nice to have another ranged physical damage weapon in the game. Reminds me of the Red Ryder LE BB gun from the Fallout games, that was a monster. Aim for the eyes and watch heads explode.

    Now that we have winter hats it would be nice to get proper cold weather gloves for next year.

    I'm looking forward to this. Might even get that new space set just for the hell of it. Wonder if it would synergize with the Breen set a bit. The full 4 piece of that gives Cryoplasma venting.

    I recall the original Borderlands also referenced this gun with a secret weapon.

    Yeah, well I killed the final boss in Fallout 1 with said BB gun so not useless in that case. :smile:

    Really though it's a moot point because I'm sure the Red Riker won't be useable on normal maps, but we'll see.

    I was thinking that weapon would actually be nice outside of Q's Winter Wonder Land.
    This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    I doubt it will be usable outside of Q's Winter Wonderland, as pretty much every weapon, except for the Nanopulse weapons, are basically powered by Q magic. But that won't stop anyone from running around with one in an RP sense.
