Well mostly in US but then Cryptic is a US based company, back here you're generally expected to obey age restrictions and if you give your 10 year old a 18 rated game it's your fault not the game company's fault.
It is the same in the US too. If the parent doesn't follow the rating system here, that's on the parent, not the company. That is especially true of physical copies of games. How the hell is a game company supposed to know a 10 year old bought a physical copy of DOOM at the local Gamestop?
IMO people like Jack Thompson are idiots who don't understand things and just want to ride the rage train. But that would probably be a discussion for another thread.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

True but the Finnish court system allows judges to dismiss cases they know for fact are meritless. It's generally harder to sue someone on questionable or non-existent merits here then it is on USA (even if 99% of those meritless cases fail in the US once they got in-front of a judge).
Okay, my Fed Delta Recruit, Ael i-ShiKahr t'Fael (her parents were Romulan refugees who met in a resettlement camp on Vulcan), is now commanding USS Philip K. TRIBBLE. Digging the look of the ShiKahr-class rollbar on there, and yes, the scanner effect comes from the deflector dish up there.

Of course, the list was also formed over a decade ago, so there's bound to be some weird TRIBBLE on there. I let Travis know about this and he's gonna fix it when he has a sec.
As a side note, this was the first self-sealing-stem-bolt question I've had in years. I asked production, who sent me to Paul, our writer, who sent me to Keith, our lead programmer, who sent me to Travis, our other programmer. That used to happen allllll the time when I was new, I *usually* go to the right person first this time.
I really don't understand why certain names are even prohibited at all. I get the whole 'no swear words' part, but in some cases, it seems to make absolutely no sense.
For quite some time now, my main KDF character was flying the "I.K.S. Gorkon" and now I am not allowed to name my ship "Gorkon" anymore. Why is that? Is there any possible reason for the name "Gorkon" to be forbidden?
A while ago, I tried to name one of my ships the "U.S.S. Monitor" and wasn't allowed to. So what's wrong with the name "Monitor"?
Seriously, I don't get it...
"Gorkon" may have been taken off recently out of respect for the late David Warner, who played the character in ST 6.
As for the Monitor, it may have to do with the fact that the most famous ship by that name was involved in the US Civil War, a war so contentious that some of those from the losing side (over a century and a half ago) still want to call it "The War of Northern Aggression". It's quite possible that the game devs are unaware of the landing ship USS Monitor LSV-5, during the waning days of the Second World War (she was commissioned just before the battle of Leyte Gulf in the Pacific theater), and think the ironclad was the only ship to bear the name.

This one seems odd, because they don't normally add names to the restricted list. For example, Discovery is a valid ship name because Star Trek: Discovery didn't exist when STO first launched.

Is this on the list? Yes? Block.
Is this on the list? No? Do nothing.

Just guessing here, obviously.
