ship i dream of....

chrisevans34chrisevans34 Member Posts: 260 Arc User
my wishlist for this year a Voth Citadel heavy dreadnought cruiser miracle worker...be sweet as..
2 hangar bays. badass voth pets, that lance that they use, would love a console that can help benefit pets.

Also(saves creating 2 posts) would love a whole new reputation based solely around carriers & pets.
im a carrier flyer thru n thru just love em so much my all time fav type to play, i just wish could have extra hangar bays..
like a idea i had, another ship upgrade token, (yeah id buy it in a heartbeat no matter the cost(the amount ive spent on this game already, i dearnt count it lol)) so the upgrade token, adds a hangar bay to a ship so would give carriers 3 hangar bays, ships with 1 hangar 2 hangars and other suitable ships that theoritcally support a hangar bay, get a hangar bay, would be sweet as :)
would like see more console and personal space traits to do with hangar bay & pets.
i just love this playstyle so much.
like i LOVED the introduction/update to fighter to know include squadrons, would love to see all suitable style pets to fly with the squadron 'Skin' as its still 1 pet but just looks super cool, but hey i can dream yeah.....

just thought id throw it in my all time fav carrier atm, just cant put her down is my Disco D7 carrier on my Borg themed donatra romulan...
if i can figure out how to post pics of my toon n boffs n ship all fully borged out....they are on facebook page
talking of borg would love borg pets drooooool lol haha

so you want a carrier with a turn rate of 2.5, inertia of 1 and impulse modifier of .05? still only going to have 6 weapon hardpoints

As much as I like the Voth as a species, their ships aren't really that great. Those engines for example look rather primitive for a hyper-advanced species. The Citadel is probably the worst, with one ridiculously oversized exhaust pipe that looks like the bottom of a present day rocket.

If they ever release the Citadel as a playable ship, I hope they'll first redesign and update the model. Which is unlikely to happen though.

Oh, and the Voth bridge is inside the ship. ;)

Also I'm pretty sure they'll never add a third hangar to any ship, I mean the Universe was big enough to justify that and it has only 2. It's just unjustified power creep and before anyone protests saying they don't care about power creep, remember that a lot if not all of the big numbers come from clever use of game mechanics not something inherent like a third hangar would be.

If the consoles were not locked to voth ships i'd be a lot more inclined to get/use voth ships.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Yeah A2B is not for ships that use aux power as primary means of damage as using it puts your Aux power to 0 in favor of boosting other systems.

I seem to recall that at one point they explained the they could only ever do two hangers with the way the game code is structured. Attempting to go beyond that would require some massive re-engineering and redesign at a level that nobody really wants to touch.

I don't recall that, but neither of those things would surprise me given everything else I know about STO's codebase.

I remember them saying something about would not be at all easy to implement and would probably cause a significant performance hit in a Ten Forward around the time they upgraded the flight-deck ships to have two bays. There may be a synopsis of it here in the forum somewhere, though the search seems to be rather brain-dead most of the time so it probably would take too much time to hunt down at the moment.

Can you guys stop jousting over carriers? Not only is it off topic, its escalating and has attracted attention with how heated its getting.

So I just went to Google to see if any other Voth designs exist.

Turns out one of the old blogs for season 8 had a few. Some of those look a lot better than the Citadel, imo.

The fourth one from the left in the top row and the middle one in the second row would actually make great dreadnoughts or even playable city ships. Those spiky parts look like they're buildings or other types of habitats, not unlike what we see in the Dyson Sphere.

Although I don't like the rear part, the ship can, overall, actually look really majestic. Especially with some new hull materials as in this pic and video:

For the record... it was Moderator Attention. Not Dev attention.
Constructive discussion about carriers might get attention from the Devs... if done in a civil manner and in a separate thread. As I said this has gone off topic and the heated nature is drawing attention.

Is there actually a way to get dev attention?

For that matter, do devs exist?

Because I have another question I've been asking since November....

Yeah. There is. Posting your bug in the Bug Reports Subforum.

i lean towards rows one and two, far left each.

The one on the second row actually resembles the Bulwark, imo. That one could use a T6 version, if the Citadel would be too big to be playable or not released for other reasons.

The hammerhead shark one in the top row with the fins should be reserved for when they release playable Antedians. ;)
