I'm posting this question because a few days ago I spotted on DS9 a Mangalore from The Fifth Element movie. It/he was really impressive & very recognizable it was so good.
It just got me to thinking what are some others that others have seen & been impressed by?
Years & years ago I remember seeing the Harry Potter cast down on Nimbus lol.

I've managed to make (On a Trill mind you) Lucina from Fire Emblem, Red Alert 3 Tanya, Red Alert 3 Natasha, Lara Croft, Sami from Advance Wars, a pretty good Yang Xiao Long from RWBY... Although I didn't change the face at all. Just outfit and hair.
And the best part of all of this is... can always say our Captains were on the Holodeck. We've seen people dress up for holodeck adventures in the past. So IMO its perfecty reasonable that we can mock up some characters.
A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch." "We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"
Passion and Serenity are one.
I gain power by understanding both.
In the chaos of their battle, I bring order.
I am a shadow, darkness born from light.
The Force is united within me.
How? We don't have berets...why they had her wear a beret in the first place, I'll never understand - she should've been wearing a ushanka.
Ushankas are bloody hot in anything but winter weather for starters (at least if it's the hat I'm thinking about), also beret though originally not Russian (it was French IIRC but don't quote me on that) is now pretty an universal sign of special forces.
I might've seen that Yoda one, or another Yoda one, awhile back now that you mention it. It was enough for me to pause what I was doing & take a second & third look.

I agree with the holodeck one can probably always bypass or include it with continuity. C&C was my first RTS game eons ago. I might've seen a Lara Croft now that you mention previously.

Lara is actually pretty doable with one of the "swimsuit" tops, which actually isn't location locked. Honestly if we could change the color of the tank top we have access to it would be even better. But it is forever gray...
Seen all sorts of Yoda, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Spider-man, Deadpool, Cyclops from X-men, Mandalorians, Homer Simpsons, Shrek, Avatar aliens, Doctor Strange... etc...
"Please, Captain, not in front of the Klingons." Spock to Kirk, as Kirk is about to hug him.

Wow, the faces of those 3 are really what stands out to me & are well done.

Wow those are cool! Nicely done whomever made those.
So glad this is not the City of Heroes Homecoming server. The anal retentive people there would totally lose their TRIBBLE over others making homage characters from existing properties. They outright ban it over there, which is totally stupid in my opinion.
CoHH probably does it to avoid takedown notices and other copyright related problems.

And other games have no issues with companies like the House of Mouse and their ilk over copyright and trademark related problems?
Pretty sure the HC team struck some kind of deal with NCSoft and had to agree to NCSoft's terms to be allowed to run the server. I think the 2 main rules were they couldn't make any profit and they couldn't allow any blatant copyright stuff. That's why you have to keep a secret identity you run around with then switch to your 'real' costume on a mission

There are also some very good approximations of Homer Simpson and the Addams family.
While I've read some that are pretty good in the past it's sort of why I emphasized "seen" & not "read" in the title.
About your unique &/or original I have to agree there are some awesome ones out there created by players.

Had to omit headgear.

Once you get past the Star Trek section (which is great, mind you) there are some really far out stuff. See Ninja Turtles, Simpsons, Spongebob

Oh nice, thanks for the link.
The stance, face and colour is easy enough but what would the outfit choices be?
There's few outfits that are close enough to the standard imperial top, it's not a really complex design after all.
Mostly Jupiter variant uniforms I believe. The Odyssey Veteran might also make for a good one.
