kits and pets. the order of the day anymore. so not only do we now have visual space vomit, we have screens full of pets now. :)
And just when you thought this category would be relatively safe, kit frames are going down the "visual vomit" hole, as a passive trait for every single non-ensign enemy you defeat:

All of this is very important strategic combat information the we need to know. It would be nearly impossible to play the game without the pixel vomit telling us all of this important information.

Indeed. It is just one big joke at this point. I get a good laugh every time they introduce a new shiny that adds even more visual vomit. What else can we do but laugh.

I found this latest mission a lot of fun. The npc banter was amusing and the twist at the end was intriguing. The voice was a neat work-around and tidily explained away.

The bit flying the Defiant was mildly disconcerting as it felt like I was fighting with one hand tied behind my back the whole time. But it was tolerable (maybe because most of my captains are set up for flying cannon boats? I don't know if any of that made a difference).

If I have one gripe, it's the locking of the action bars. That did annoy me, though I can understand why it was done.

My guess for the future? The Emperor (whoever that is, Mariner maybe?) wants an immortal body.

Well, I thought it was a fun mission. It was cool to see Janeway (both versions). And it was cool to play as the mirror version of our character. Tilly was incredibly annoying. And the mission is such a small amount of actual play-time for the amount of real world time it takes to put out these episodes. But ignoring that sad fact, it was still a fun mission.

Not a big fan of this mission either. The Defiant was miserable. Why? Well aside from it being a poor weapon layout/boff combo, I went in with a torpedo science ship captain. I don't even have a full power to weapons preset on the character, and skills of course are not setup for an energy weapon oriented ship. You guys have done this a lot better before. Cryptic also has the ability to pop a visual skin on our ship to make it look like anything else. That could have been done here too and would have made it a better reflection of our character operating similarly in the MU. Having the Mirror Defiant pop out science powers and torp spam would have made so much sense with my MU version in command.

I do not like the voicebox thing either. Why are we stuck with 20th century tech exactly (Bonus ridiculousness points for the character being a liberated Borg)? The player does not need a voice. Beyond that it was very annoying to listen to, like fingernails on a chalkboard, and I'm sure that will vary for people, but for me it is that bad.

And I get the story idea behind it, playing with our mirror counterpart is a great idea, but it doesn't at all feel like it is our mirror counterpart, just a lookalike, and I know there isn't a lot that can be done about it, because it wasn't our character or a reflection of that character which is something Cryptic just can't do properly, it was just our character's skin. That is why I prefer it just not be done at all.

Janeway was pretty well done, the big surprise at the end was interesting but concerning. Overall it wasn't the story I had an issue with but various decisions on the execution.

Heehee, I liked Tilly. Terran Janeway was scary....those arms of hers looks like she rips phone books for a hobby.

I really enjoyed the mission and it was refreshing playing a Mirror Me and flying a ship I wouldn't normal equip, and I would have never expected both to have the same skill set and stats. It was too easy to worry about stats anyway.

The modulated voice was pretty cool, and despite certain folk's dislike of it, was a great vehicle to give the Mirror player a voice.

The NPC's were all great, although Killy was getting annoying in the end.

The ending was a wowzer moment, and I've no complaints about the mission otherwise.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

I'm still leaning towards the emperor being either Wesley or Barkley. And they're building their perfect bride.

Doubtful on Barkley, that VA won't happen unless there's an impersonator.

I actually think Picard. The timing would work out.

    or
    Kurland here!

Not at all. Holograms, time travel, etc. There are tons of ways to have the character in the story in his typical captain type role ☺

Well, it seems Marshall Janeway got screwed by the Emperor, considering she still had the ISS Voyager at this time and not
the mirror equivalent of the Federation's new USS Dauntless as shown in the latest episode of Prodigy.

I don't see why Barclay would be out of the question. Dwight Schultz has done lots of video game voice work; can't imagine it'd be that hard to get him to reprise his Star Trek role.

yeah, there is janeway, yeah its trek, but its also a nikelodeon (spelling) held project. i thought the devs stated that since it is, the references and any concept from it wouldnt make it into STO...could be wrong. :)

I think its more the added complication of negotiation with Nikelodeon more than anything. We probably will see stuff from Prodigy eventually, but not anytime soon. Not only that, it did take about a year or so for us to start getting some Lower Decks stuff, and before that Discovery stuff. If Cryptic can, they are probably waiting until they have enough material to work with to make stuff for the game. Far as I am aware they generally don't get advance notice on things and are seeing a lot of this stuff at the same time we are.

If I recall... he DID already reprise his role at least once in Star Trek Elite Force II, although I think it was implied he was acting as Chief Engineer of the Enterprise-E at the time.

Ok he did, along with a couple other Trek veterans playing various roles.

Annoying Tilly spam in the same way they had Tasha Yar bitching when we met her. Or Harry Kim bossing us around in Dust to Dust. I much preferred Janeway.

There were lots of attention to detail in the episode including an updated Voyager hull outside the Conference Room window (how about adding it to the C-Store version?). I also noticed Cryptic took the time to model Tilly with her spots and snuck in some Easter Eggs.

When it comes to canon characters, Cryptic does do their best to make the character models accurate.

Only thing I find disappointing (but unsurprising) is that it's glitched.

    which easter eggs?

Check the upper atrium door before you open it. Also something on 1 door and repeated on several doors in the teleporter room. I've read there's another to do with the turbolift but I couldn't see it.
