I never assumed that my characters were the emperor, and nothing in the previous episode suggested that they were anyway. It's not something that would work, for a lot of reasons (first and foremost being that PCs can be any species, and Terrans would never accept an alien as their ruler, especially in the case of Klingons and Cardassians).

Nope. I always thought 'Evil Me' would just be an officer of the Terran starfleet. And, in the cut scenes, the emperor is refereed to as "HIM".
I also wonder how this works for Discovery captains, since Tilly said she killed the Terran counterpart after the captain was killed.
And my main character, which is a virtual me, is an Al-Eurian, one of Guinan's race, I DOUBT the Terran Empire, which are extremely xenophobic, would CONSIDER, much less ALLOW, a non human to be on the throne. I'm surprised Kumarki was amongst them.

To be fair... they did refer to Georgiou as Emperor rather than Empress when she ruled the Terran Empire. But that could have been a personal choice to help boost up the power and mistique that is the leader of the Terran Empire. Kind of like "my rule transcends gender based titles" ego.
But yea... everything we have points to the Emperor actually being male. Who they are... is still a mystery.

That's what I wanna know too. There's gotta be some special dialog between a DSC Captain and Mirror Tilly after what she said back when we first met her over Pahvo.

Well... they let Leeta in as a Captain, and later an Admiral. It seems that the xenophobia is not quite as rampant as it was in the 23rd Century. If you prove yourself worthy of a command, either by merit, assassination, or some other method, the Empire will recognize that. Now if your crew will listen to you... that's another story. Probably gotta scare them or earn their respect, and that would be harder for a non human. Kumaaarke must have scared loyalty into her crew. She's rather... trigger happy.
And my main is a female Trill so... she must have done something to not only earn her rank, but title as well.

Nope. There's some slightly different banter between the PC and Killy on the way to the turbolift after the briefing at the start of the mission, but noting addressing how the PC survived the assassination attempt but also made it into the future like Killy did. This was the only thing about the new mission I found disappointing.

I'm wondering if Tilly tried to use something mycelial to kill the DSC character, only to have a similar situation happen to the Fed DSC like when J'ula tried to fire her weapon. Instead of death, catapulted through time. Effect at the time would appear to be death and thus... out of sight, out of mind. But I can see some potential in more banter in the future if they keep that in mind.
It would be nice if they addressed it in some significant way. She officially became captain by killing our DSC captains' mirror counterpart, you'd think it would be a really big deal for them to be coming face to face again.

It was literally mentioned multiple times, by various characters, that she tried it with a spoon.
A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch." "We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"
Passion and Serenity are one.

In the chaos of their battle, I bring order.
I am a shadow, darkness born from light.
The Force is united within me.
It was never implied you are the Emperor, so that’s your fault for thinking that.
The only thing I’m mildly disappointed about is that our mirror counterpart is commanding the ISS Defiant and we didn’t get a mirror version of our ship.
The only let down for me was the poor quality, the story was excellent, the graphics design top notch but it was all let down by the terrible gameplay which is far by the worst in the entire game. I hated every moment of it. Never going near this horrible mission again. Its a shame as the graphics and story I would rate within the top 1% but the gameplay is the worst 1%.

Spoons are not mycelial.
Tilly probably lied to be fair, it’s unlikely a spoon could do that kind of damage where you have to replace your voicebox.

Well depends on how the spoon was used, snap the head of a metallic spoon and stab someone in their throat with it and it could do enough damage, or sharpen the edge of said spoon.
Just because it was spoon doesn't have to mean it was an unmodified spoon, Tilly probably told it in a way that would make your death seem the most embarrassing.

It's probably an Agony Spoon, with extra spikes. Maybe even... a spork!

This, the story and cinematography are great.. the game play absolutely sucks.
This mission is about as much fun as a colonoscopy. I am so sick of missions where I have to play someone other then my own character or fly a crappy cryptic designed ship.
I guess I'm the minority, I really liked this episode, and the game play was fine for me. It wasn't hard, glad the mobs had few hitpoints, nothing really hard about the mechanics. They went hand in hand with the story. I understand why they limit the ship/char. They can tune the encounters to one set of variables and gear because everyone ends up having the same ship/character. Don't have to worry if it is too easy or too hard depending on what kind of gear a person has. I guess that makes it easier for them to make missions.
I'm glad for this new mission myself, I enjoyed it immensely, and will be running it on all my chars, one char a day for my daily update to the event. That should get me my new ship easy!

Don't think you're in the minority here. Seems that for the most part the new episode is being well received. At least as far as I can tell.
No, I think this new episode is awesome. THAT ending! Wow!
Also, did people really think mirror us was the Emperor? I never got that impression at the end of Firewall
"We've learned that friendship isn't always easy. But there's no doubt it's worth fighting for."
You guys used the rifle more often than the laughably OP and short-cooldown abilities?
But why?
EDIT: In fact, I just went in-game to see if it's possible to do a no-rifle run and it is in fact very easy without dying once, even with a sci PC who has the worst abilities of the three careers (the agonizer brain scramble that kills your target too fast so they can't damage others efficiently and the agonizer chain that has awful targeting).

I didn't say I didn't use the (agreeably) OP abilities. But doesn't being overly-reliant on those to be the primary source of damage, due to the rifle being as much use an underwater hairdryer, seem a bit daft?
As a sci-&-exotic-focused (well, mostly) player in general in this game, I'm offended by this statement. :P
jk, of course.
But yeah, I definitely agree the rifle sucks and the allied NPCs are horrible outside of strong damage (when they deign to shoot), like usual.
(not having a "cooldown reduced to nothing" build, I'm not used to playing piano on the ability keys. So I don't always pay the best attention to them. I used the one tac ability mixed in with shooting, but it was mostly shooting. Of course, I also don't have a "melt the enemy without thought" build, so the shooting didn't seem too terribly weak compared to normal ground gameplay. /shrug?)
Ran into another major gameplay problem. My skill build is completely wrong for the ship we are forced into. Meaning my damage was bouncing off the enemies doing almost no damage making it x10 harder then it should have been. I was sitting there for what felt like 5 minuets watching the station shields go down and then another 5 minuets watching the hull very slowly go down. That is a very poor gameplay design. If you are going force people into a pre built ship you should give us the core stats to use that ship. Its horrible enough being forced into another character but its even worse to be forced into that character without any of the right skills to use the equipment.

No, the entire game is like that now; kit spam is the order of the day - your weapon is only for looking pretty and completing set bonuses (if any).
You can thank Mudd's Time Device and Cryptic's refusal to fix it for that.

I DID like that surprise curveball at the end though, the TARGET of the raid on Jupiter Station. THAT was a shock.
well Star Trek Legacy is now well and truly canon to STO
I don't see how that can be said. We got a connection back to TMP. I don't see anything that can connect to Legacy.
