I'd love to see a Romulan recruitment event, we're about to get KDF recruitment come round for a 2nd time and the others have already had 2 rounds and to make it so that people don't need to roll 2 of them all the special mission reward can be in the "Romulan only content" and then nothing until the natural content starting with "cardasian struggle"
I would like to see this too. I enjoy the recruitment events.
The one thing I would drop would be the TRIBBLE melee/cloaked kills type requirements though. Even though they're kind of representative of the Klingon faction, they force you to play a certain way, or fly a certain ship (My Klingon Recruit flies one of the Gorn Multimission science ships, which doesn't have cloak - so I've still not done that one).
No, that's not Romulan specific it's for all factions.
So. It's still a Romulan Recruitment. By logic, 2409 Feds and DSC Feds need their own then too.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

KDF has it's own recruitment and they can also get to use Delta, so no Delta is multi factional and not the same thing as the KDF one.
I think you need to re-read what I wrote because I didn't refer to the KDF did I? As West say, DSC is the only faction that can't access a Recruitment event, but if folk aren't counting Delta, then 2409 Feds as well as Roms need their own. Hope that is clear enough.

YES! Romulan and Fed! I was thinking this. (Also yes I get delta recruit. That is not what we are talking about)
With year of Klingon we got updated intro and updated KDF story episodes. I'd love to see the same on Fed and Romulan faction!
As of now... the only faction that isn't eligible for a recruitment event at all is Discovery Fed... I should think you'd want them to get one, before (further) duplicates for the other factions....
That is the newest faction and doesn't require any facelift. If anything it has the most up to date scenes.
They really haven't done anything for Romulans since the end of LoR...so I wouldn't count on it unfortunately
They did revamp a bunch of the Romulan-specific story episodes at least once, and I think some of them twice.
Revamping some episodes really isn't much...there hasn't been a new uniform since LoR (And they STILL haven't fixed the Tal Shiar uniform problem)...they gave them access to their allied faction ships so they don't really make Romulan ships anymore. Haven't gotten any new playable races
Romulans are pretty much dead unfortunately...every faction is. KDF only got love because of their heavy involvement in the story. Since Klingons are pretty much non-existent post S2 Discovery you probably wont see them get much attention for a long time either
Year of the Klingon was a dud...now we're in Years of the Fed, where even the bad guys fly Fed ships
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power

It already exists.
Whan Delta Recruitment was created, it was made for all three of the then-existing factions. (A few of the rewards are exclusive to each of the three factions, too, so to earn all of them you have to play all three.)
By following that "Delta" logic though we wouldn't had needed/wanted the AoY nor KDF recruitment events.
& all this time they're still trying to rebuild New Romulus.
I had always hoped Cryptic would develop a storyline where we could go & adventure deep into that Reman focus underworld though that'd be more ground than space missions which I'm sure isn't as popular.
New Romulus was only discovered about a year or two ago game time so you cannot really expect a lot unless they just beam in buildings like the Protoss from Star Craft. Even then, they would have to find a lot of people to settle it which more often than not means extracting them from bad colonies like that mining one that was taken over by the Ferengi and other often complicated situations.
And the gate trap didn't help things any in that respect either since it resulted in a large loss of personnel, buildings, and probably infrastructure, not to mention that stuff like that tends to make people think twice about settling in a hurry.

Exactly. What the game needs is a time jump 5 years forward, then they can focus on what progress has been made for the Romulans.

Honestly I think I may have started this mess by bringing up the idea of Romulan Recruit during Year of the Klingon, it's clearly out of my hands now and I don't remember it being mentioned this much until after I brought it up a couple of times,
EDIT: turns out I didn't invent it seeing as there's posts talking about Romulan Recruitment going back to 2014, that said I may have simply popularized it.
Yes, i agree, Romulans need their own recruitment event, thats the perfect excuse to revamp maps, missions and ships.. ohh, god, the ships!... some are great, some.. are just boxes with wings... (i'm loking at you, T5, T6 D'Deridex!), it would be great, Romulans are fun to play, they have different mechanics to the feds, klings and Jems, i kinda like them.

Just combine that with Picard content and "Chef's Kiss" you get perfection.

Thank you for hijacking the thread into your own private rant about Delta Recruit not being exclusive, but you know what? The original poster did not reference that. They appeared to simply be asking for a recruitment that Romulans are eligible for.
As of now... the only faction that isn't eligible for a recruitment event at all is Discovery Fed... I should think you'd want them to get one, before (further) duplicates for the other factions....
Imagine just letting the original poster clarify what they're requesting instead of telling others what they are requesting for them.
id be open to a Rom event if it coincided with some updates to the new rom locations and such. but since they have not been touched in years, i doubt it will come to be.
Yup!, Legacy of Romulus was released... 10 years ago??... 2012, if i'm not mistaken... i think is time for some touch ups...
Aren't Romulans (or Romulan Faction Aliens) already the "best" according to the STO YouTubers? Wouldn't one with recruitment event buffs/goodies would make for a "why play anything else" type of character?
Right now, the only recruitment that has nothing to offer for a significant part of the playerbase is the so-called "Gamma" recruitment since it can only be done on a niche, genderlocked race that many have no interest whatsoever in playing.
Having a recruitment that focuses on Romulans would be great since they have been pretty much ignored for years and could use a new mission or two, but Gamma is the one that is the most broken because the faction only represents Odo's extremely atypical expeditionary force, so fixing the faction to be able to represent the canon Dominion and attract more players to actually play the Gamma recruitment (and the faction in general) is more of an issue.

They already are. Most of the "recruitment event buffs/goodies" are either account-wide anyway, or in the case of the Klingon Recruitment's special BOFF, Romulans have separate access to a BOFF with the same trait (who is actually better as that BOFF also has SRO).
I don't hold with the "why play anything else?" theory myself.... but if you want to maximize damage output, esp. space damage, Romulans do have a distinct advantage, specifically the fact that they can get SRO Science and Engineer BOFFs. The best anyone else can do in those seats is Jem'Hadar Vanguard, who give about 60% or so of the same effect and are limited to one in each profession, meaning most players have to slot at least one non-JHV BOFF as well. Meanwhile, other than BOFFs (and a couple of personal traits) everything is basically equally available to everyone.
On most ship builds (assuming a 2-tac-BOFF build on a 5-seat ship) that translates to a deficit of +4 critical hit and +10 critical severity (if you have access to the JHVs) or +6/+15 (if you don't) from the BOFF traits; I think there's a little bit from the personal traits as well.
I have to agree with Westmetals, only the Min-maxers care about chasing the Meta, Roleplayers like myself could barely care less about what's the faction or race has the best stuff.

Yeah that's also an Issue, BTW is that Changeling Guy still protesting at DS9, I'm not on PC so I wouldn't know.
The Romulan starting story is the best in the game and doesn't need more than minor touch ups along with the option to airlock Tovan.
What needs major major work is the NR adventure zone and the associated missions in the New Romulus story arc.
A recruitment event would be the perfect excuse to do this. I also think the Republic is the only faction I can identify with, so I very much would welcome a recruitment.
It won't happen though because the devs have abandoned the Republic.

I do think that it requires some minor touch ups, they already updated some art and some part of the missions some time ago, so i think the update would not be that big, i think is perfect for a recruit event, little investment, but a lot of return..

Only reason we even got a KDF event was because of the Discovery Klingon arc taking up more than a quarter of a decade
