    No no, it was quite laggy. I noticed as soon as I logged in, but I thought it was just because the instance was full, as it usually happens at the start of a new event. But it was laggy *everywhere*, ground and space.

    Not agreeing with someone doesn't give you the right to be an TRIBBLE.

    Ci sono tre tipi di giocatori:
    - quelli a cui non va mai bene niente... e vanno sul forum a trollare;
    - quelli che sono talmente imbesuiti da credere a qualunque cosa i dev dicano, perfino che la luna è fatta di formaggio... e vanno sul forum a trollare;
    - quelli che credono a quello a cui è giusto credere, sono d'accordo con quello con cui è giusto essere d'accordo e sono critici con quello che non va;

    Ai giocatori dei primi due tipi, gratis in omaggio un bello specchio lucente su cui arrampicarsi. E una mazzata in testa per la loro poca intelligenza e compassione verso gli altri giocatori che non la pensano come loro.
    Agli appartenenti al terzo tipo, invece, dico grazie. Anche se non sempre si riesce a mantenere la calma, siete quelli per cui vale la pena incazzarsi.

    The boss fight at the end of the new TFO is one of the few scenarios it makes sense to have a more traditional boss fight in a setting like Star Trek's, and they did it very well IMO.

    The character I first did that on - my Kelvinized first TOS character - was carrying a Boolean Heavy Assault Cannon for that fight. Having a weapon with the power of a starship phaser in your hands seemed appropriate.

    In regards for the thing at the opening cut scene.
    I wonder if it is a planetary cloak instead of something that destroys a planet, after all Leeta talks of "toys" not just 1 thing

    I like the mission too, it feels more like a proper mission rather than glorified patrol.

    Obviously it's an industrial-sized Tantalus Field.
    Would make sense TBF.

    Most non-canon sources indicate that Spock was able to use the one he took from Captain Kirk to rather frightening effect in his rise to power. ("The Sorrows of Empire" is a good book that covers this period, by the way - I highly recommend it.)

    Loved this episode from start to finish, bug and lag free!! Environments were all nice resolutions and clean lines. Leeta looks awesome in her new model and her dialogue was fantastic. Ending didn't surprise me though as I cottoned on with early dialogue. Cannae wait to get more!

    I actually saw that ending coming. I noticed how coy they were being about the Emperor in the promotional material, realized it was supposed to be a What A Tweeest! bit and asked myself what the worst thing they could do would be.

    They did it.
    @Venture-1. @Venture from City of Heroes if you remember that. Yes, that Venture. Yes, I probably trashed your MA arc. You'll have to be specific; for me it was Tuesday.

    I dont think is the Emperor.. is not dressed as one... would be cool, and also, it's too a small ship for the Emperor... i'm spectin an Odissey or something bigger for that role

    Another thing I found incredibly ridiculous about the episode is how the station's crew keeps going "we have no idea why the Terrans showed up and what they are after, we didn't expect them".

    Really, guys? You don't think
    a high-ranked Mirror Universe admiral randomly showing up earlier and turning herself in
    would potentially have something to do with that raid?

    Uh, to be fair, they were saying those things to our character, not the one playing the character - they're not about to say something that classified when we didn't Need To Know at the time - they were probably hoping we could deal with the situation WITHOUT needing to find out about Leeta.

    We were literally asked to come see her, by her own request.

    Even without revealing her identity during the attack for some kind of misplaced element of surprise, the crew would have probably said something like "The arrival of the Terrans is very likely to have something to do with our most recent "guest" who required your presence".

    Considering they were getting trashed before we showed up, had they all died (the crew and Leeta with them), you'd have been left wondering who was the VIP since you'd have probably assumed Leeta was leading the raid and got killed by the Starfleet officers in the crossfire.

    Now that they finally fixed it I was able to play it. It was good overall, the end was cool.. it was a good episode.

    Honestly, the part that bugs me the most is that DeSoto keeps ordering me around even though he's a Commander and I am an Admiral. I wish they would just establish the character as a captain, having you be an admiral just makes no sense at all.

    'Hey, the warp core isn't working.. someone has to go into the tube and maneuver through deadly electricity and turn it on manually at a console. I know, lets send the Starfleet Admiral."

    It's not a mission specific criticism, it's story wide. I am an Admiral.. you honestly should have controlled a member of your ground party for that, or covered him while he did it. The guy barks orders at me the entire time like I am an ensign.. it's just an annoyance.
    Insert witty signature line here.

    It's not like they haven't done it before - Uneasy Selas had us actually doing what captains SHOULD be doing - ordering the lower-ranked crew to do the menial tasks...why Cryptic never did it again after that, I have no idea. Though for here, I could see why they want the player doing it - could you imagine trying to get a boff through the gaps in those discharges with their TRIBBLE, unresponsive AI?

    As opposed to the Engineer you brought with you. (Or the medic for those injuries, etc). But yeah, that's kind of an in-baked issue with "the player needs to actually do things" vs "you're a command officer with a crew of skilled minions". Even if you were just a Captain, it'd still make little sense for everyone to be saying "No, YOU tighten that bolt" to you. There's so few episodes where your away team actually helps with anything other than combat.

    (with New Rom, I'm always thinking - gee, all us Admirals with one minion trying to build a colony. My ship's just sitting there in orbit... maybe I should call down a couple hundred guys to actually get stuff done. But, no - it's a game.)

    edit: okay, that was silly. I originally had "5-letter word for a threaded fastener, starting with S" there, instead of Bolt. It was censored. :D

    It's one of my pet peeves too. It all comes down to Kirk. I never wanted to play as an admiral, but it's just one of those details I glaze over. My pips or piping tell me I'm a captain, I don't call fleet support, and I'm in the chair (or Jeffrie's tube) where I can make a difference. I look at the rank as a level identifier and ignore the rest. A shoot the moon wish would be a rank inserted like my captain's name but it's not a deal breaker. Being the fleet dog's body would make the lower rank more appropriate. The only admiral like thing I think I do is assigning ships to the admiralty missions.

    I'm talking about DeSoto who makes it clear he spoke to her ("I see you've met the prisoner. Charming, isn't she?") and she didn't change her Terran outfit, which has at least THREE Terran emblems on it.

    I'd say I could excuse the captain of the Khonshu for not knowing and not expecting Terran forces to attack...

    IF...

    IF his ship wasn't equipped with the Dimensional Portal Activator Device and DeSoto made it clear it went to prototype a few months ago and has been on the Khonshu for a while.

    And the reason they tested it here is because the barrier between the Prime and the Mirror Universe is thin at this exact location.

    At this point, if people of this station aren't expecting at least occasional Terran incursions, it's not a case of "need-to-know" basis, it's criminal ignorance/incompetence/info withdraw.

    And that's not criminal incompetence on a "woops, random hackers stole our customers' data and are blackmailing us because we knew our security sucks and did nothing" level, that's a "if we're not careful, the genocidal galactic empire a thin barrier-between-realities away from us can enter, invade and steal all our classified and potentially highly dangerous stuff including a tech allowing them to easily enter our universe!" level!

    And again, those people aren't just your classic random unlucky space station scientists, they're Starfleet Intelligence, they should know all that.

    Not to mention, some of them may not know about having someone in the brig, or may not know who is in the brig, since they have no need for everyone to know.

    Wasn't DeSoto either the commander of the station or at least someone pretty high up in the chain of command instead of a random mook. Now the captain of the intel ship guarding the base now I assume he was on a "need to know basis" and wouldn't know about Leeta.

    EDIT:As for captain of the Khonshu not expecting terran incursions, it could be a case of expecting incursions just not with this intensity mainly small raids of a ship or 2 not a full battle fleet.

    DeSoto is a Lt. Commander. While he seems to be in the know regarding the facility layout and purposes I can't think he'd be the senior officer at an installation of that scale.

    Really digging spoiler's uniform, looks like a cross between Odyssey Excursion and Dyson Sphere, those new terran badges and belts are also sexy AF NGL, overall I want that uniform, however I'm curious about their career division in Imperial Starfleet.
