Good bundle but more sales?. Is STO or Cryptic actually financially health with putting up all these sales to entice purchases or is this the input of the VP and his experience in the mobile gaming industry and just cash grabbing

The dilex is never going to recover. You just know they will raise the cap and achieve nothing.

This is technically a 'flash' sale as it's only on for 2 days, so this wouldn't have anything to do with their financial status. This constant claim that they are in a 'poor' state isn't helpful, nor is there anything to prove it so.

People keep asking for Cryptic to bring back the bundles, so good for them by offering another chance before Black Friday or Xmas.

I already have the 10th anniversary legendary pack.

For those who don't have it and are considering buying it: it's a good pack. You get a cruiser with miracle worker seating, a pilot escort, special pets and phaser weapon unlocks, a very potent science ship - and every hero ship.

On top of that, you get all of the associated ship skins, consoles and traits - and even more of most of these things than the original ships had.

I might get the 11th anniversary pack too.

I'm not sure though, I've got so many ships already. I'm afraid I'll end up not using any of them. The Legendary Ambassador and Excelsior look great though.

The dilex is never going to recover. You just know they will raise the cap and achieve nothing.

The first cut was with the 2nd launch of the Phoenix Pack years ago, when they sabotaged it with a simultaneous key sale. Then it was the death of a thousand cuts with sale after sale after sale over time, sometimes even throwing 3 different sales simultaneously, with nothing to act as the dilithium pressure release valve.

If Cryptic really cared about the dilex, they would've kept introducing dil sink rotations to possibly alternate between sales. While learning from what happened with Neverwinter. If the studio really cared about it, they would've paid attention, and taken appropriate measures to ensure that it was maintained at an appropriate balance. Words from them nowadays are wind, when actions are more tangible.

The Legendary Excelsior is an improvement over the Resolute, which itself is an improvement on the T5 Excelsior.
The core issue with the T5 was it was extremely Engie heavy for BOff seating. Only so much you can do with 3 ensign level Engie powers. The Resolute fixed that with hybrid Command seat so you're not locked into having 3 ensign Engie powers. I believe the Legendary has a universal slot.

The Legendary BoP isn't bad either, but there are a couple parts that don't play well with each other.

How much will that be in Zen or Dollars?

Both are fun sets and worth looking at on sale. "Sale" is when they show their worth. The 10th is loaded with iconic Fed ships and comparatively the 11th seems underwhelming. A couple KDF ships into the mix sweetens the pot if you prefer playing on the other side of the fence. Rattler mentioned the Legendary BoP as being,"not bad" which is a fair assessment. Still zipping around in a legit pilot B'rel is a lot of fun even if it couldn't be considered quite optimal. It continues to present the, "Robbing Peter to pay Paul" dynamic that is BoP captaincy so that's almost iconic" in itself 😄. Not perfect but I love that ship.

The 10th Anniversary set is so good, in my book, that the only reason to not buy is if you can't afford it.

    Among the perks:
    - as mentioned all the ships come with all of the skins and consoles of their entire type (that were available at the time)
    - The Sovereign and Intrepid and one of the Connies are Miracle Worker spec ships (including the extra console slot)
    - Each of them has an all-new trait added at tier 6 (which is account wide from earning it once!), plus at tier 5 you get all previous traits for the type (that were available at the time)
    - One of the Connies has the Advanced Phaser Arrays so you can now get those for "free" via zen store reclaim
    - The Defiant is upgraded to a full 5/3 warship

The 11th is not so great, but it does have a MW Excelsior... I'm a big supporter of the Ambassador's T5 trait... and don't forget that it's really 6 ships, not 4, as the sale includes 2 T6 Zen ship coupons.

Or you don't like any of the ships in it. Or only one or two of them. Or you hate the fact that the pack was released in a VERY fed centric manner...followed by the next big legendary pack having even MORE feddie bear ships because other factions can't have just nice things for them after this massive pack to faction inequality. I can easily afford this pack...I will NEVER get this pack. There is plenty of reason to not get this pack beyond can not afford.

Principles are powerful things when you have them.

Of course, but that goes without saying.

It's like if the best steakhouse in your city was having a discount night and someone was like "wow that's a great deal!" and you say "NOT IF YOU DON'T LIKE STEAK IT'S NOT!".

Um, yeah. We get it. Obviously it's only a good deal if you like/want the ships. That's what @westmetals obviously means, and you know it.

Not true. I have zero interest in any of the connies. Already own 4 of the Odysseys. Have my favorite Crossfield already, the Terran one. Own the Defiant, Intrepid, Gal-X, don't care for Sovereign or NX-01. Truly this is just a legendary upgrade to making a bunch of ships more powerful, and the package price gets worse the more you already own. Defiant & Intrepid would obsolete my existing ones since they're a clear upgrade. L Odyssey, the only ship I'm actually interested in, is more a side-grade for the DHC & pets.

They know packaged "deals" are great for them, as it pushes people into paying for things they don't actually want. Very aggressive marketing tactics that only leave a bad impression. (goes without saying I have $0 real cash to give to anything Cryptic, ever, they lost me permanently and forever years ago).

The 10th Anniversary Bundle is very good, even better at 50% off. It is so good that sliced bread is jealous. ;)

You can look at TV/Phone/Internet bundles for the same pattern. Even if the customer has little use for say the TV/Phone parts, many of them buy the bundled deal anyways because its overall cheaper then getting them separately
In that instance sometimes the final price flat out IS cheaper, I'm a cable guy myself and when it comes to promotions it is often cheaper per month to get TV+Internet+Phone than it is to get just TV+Internet. I could speculate on the reason but since that decision is made way above me I could never be certain. It does seem to be less prevalent of an issue now though, the last time I actually looked into it for a customer it was only cheaper to get all three if they wanted our fastest internet speed, otherwise it was cheaper for them to just get TV+Internet. And again I do not mean cheaper per service, I mean cheaper period, as in all three services might be $150 while getting just the two you want would be $170 (those are completely random numbers, not necessarily actual prices). Once the promotional pricing is over though it's always cheaper to only have what you actually want.

Bulk price deals, the seller gets to sell more, passing on some savings to the customer. Problem here is there's no option for individual items even if each is priced higher. Many of those also don't take into account existing items (T5s, T6s, char-bound ships etc.).

I have most the ships in that bundle already... Just gonna wait till they release the ships individually... It's gonna happen.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

The only way that MIGHT happen is if sales suddenly take a nose dive. Considering people are always asking about it when it's not available that's gonna be awhile, if it ever happens at all.

Have we been watching a Ping-Pong match at the Olympics?

By the way, STOWIKI lists 105 Romulan Ships, etc.
