Yeah, starship mastery. I would buy maybe 20 of those tokens right away.

Of course for me it's all about housing. If they absolutely refuse to do that could they at least bring back trophies, or have one room in the ship that is always the same regardless of ship and you can decorate this with dil items.

Using dilithium to buy Skill Specialization Points.

Using dilithium to buy the "specialized" weapons like the Advanced Phasers/Disruptors, Andorian Phasers, Dewan Plasma, & Lethean Disruptors already allow, but for the other species' starships that come with "special" weaponry that Cryptic decided not to allow upgrading for example: the Voth Bulwark from the Phoenix. If a player owns it, then they're allowed to use dilithium to outfit it with Voth Antiprotons either from Weapon Packs, Exchange, or Dilithium Store.

I like someone's Starship Mastery tokens idea too.

We'll say it again.....PERSONAL QUARTERS!!! With lots of 'improvement' and 'redevelopment' options.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

    Repeatable?

    ..
    Starship traits for alts.
    More crafted gear/mods(to reroll for).

I like the reroll tokens for dilithium idea as well. Heck maybe even buyable respec tokens for Dilithium.

I had an idea, What about giving the option of buying past event starships. Like the ones in the Phoenix box. I think 500,000 dill would be reasonable maybe more for acc unlock. I really would like an other shot at an acc unlock Bajoran interceptor.

Yes, since they are always coming out with new Ships. If they priced this to make it attractive enough, people would certainly consider spending DIL to master a Ship especially since it's per character! While perhaps not everyone, it certainly would be considered by many to speed up earning Starship Traits.

While I've always wanted Ship Interiors to be more customizable with Trophies in those 3 ship rooms; I really don't know if they will ever do this.

Yes reroll tokens purchased with DIL be good, if they cut chance of them dropping by 25%--wouldn't need more than that.

As for Buyable Character RESPEC tokens for DIL might also be very viable, if they'd take it out of the ZEN Store. Currently you'd need 150,000 DIL to get 300 ZEN for One at 500:1. Instead move it to the DIL Store, then if people wanted to buy them with ZEN they could still get them just instead by trading for DIL. While I'd suggest Reroll tokens should honor the Fleet Dilithium Mine discount extended to the Dilithium Store; perhaps the RESPEC Token similar to Phoenix (Exclude Fleet 5-15% discount) as then people who want them can still acquire them with ZEN too. So double win in a sense!

The Red Angel Suit, or the Elachi Space Set haven't gone to Phoenix or Mudd's either yet... ...just don't ignore adding new stuff to Phoenix as people still like new options in there! Also be nice to see some T5 Lobi/Lockbox (Retired) Ships show up in Phoenix or Mudd's with a more balanced approach to splitting them up between the two.

Or I had an idea for a slight variation on Fleet Holding at Drozana (that might appeal to those in smaller fleets, as well as some in larger ones) on my first post on Page 2 of this thread--also find the alternate thread linked within it shown as Page 10.

I thought it was a creative way to offer something different, and listed several idea's for her (above) or on the page linked within it... ...will they do it like many, possibly not...

Foundry, the Dil could be used to fund an actual Software Engineer to fix it once and for all. Charge a minimal Dil fee to unlock the Foundry for a month for users to access the missions. Of course content creators would have free access.

Foundry was dropped because they couldn't support it and STO at the same time. Every update resulted in a broken Foundry, and it was taking longer and longer to fix, let alone needing to add new assets on top of trying to keep everything working. That ship has sailed and is not a viable option.

I will just post my previous idea here:

I know people don't like them but.. 'Flash Sales.'

Just instead of the current Zen ones, Dilithium ones. Have occasional sales that pop up for 1-3 days where you can get items only previously available from lock boxes for Dilithium like the current Vanity Shield promotion. Maybe in a week or two, we get a couple days where you can buy an array of Kit modules, maybe some traits, Lock Box Weapons, whatever. If people know these pop up from time to time, they will hoard Dilithium and wait.. they will be less likely to go trade it for Zen, it will become more valuable. This also prevents players from converting that Dilithium to EC.

Outside of that, things to help Veterans that might want to start new characters. Things that let them skip this horrendous grind associated with new characters, tokens to complete specializations, reputations, crafting schools, etc.

Lastly, let people buy out daily event progress for Dilithium. Keep the current Zen buyout for the entire event, but one day you just don't feel like running 'To Hell With Honor' or whatever idiotic queue is in play at the time.. spend a small amount of Dilithium to get one day completion.. maybe you'll feel up to the monotony tomorrow.

Yes, ships and Vanity Shields are 'one time buy,' but you have many many things that people want. Anticipation of future pop up sales will make people hoard their Dilithium getting ready for these sales much like how people hoard Zen now waiting for the Legendary Packs. The Legendary Pack is also a 'one time buy' but people hoard to save up for it. It also prevents them from converting their saved Dilithium into Zen.

There is no such thing as a single item sink that can never be exhausted, stop looking for that. Phoenix Boxes were given as an example, but they also have a limited appeal.. you'll eventually upgrade all your items or get everything you were missing.

There is no such thing as an endless Dilithium Sink service. Stop chasing that dragon, go with variety and rarity of events.

yeah the devs are well aware what ideas will and wont work. they certainly dont need some wannabe armchair expert helping them understand what ideas will work and what wont. if someone has an idea, post it. if its good the devs might use it. if its not, they wont. what some other player thinks of it doesnt matter one bit.

Zen is to the c-store as Dil is to "X". But without "X" being anything that could be put in the c-store. otherwise, that would just be giving out stuff they could make money on. Very small sweet spot between a good enough product/service that it would be worth dil but not so good that it gets put in the c-store.

I've always thought rather than creating a new Fleet Holding, why not just slowly over time Upgrade Tier 3 out to Tier 4.

Doesn't require a new map even, just possibly 1-2 new NPC's, and a few updates to some interior/maps. I've always wanted to visit the Reman Caverns below the Embassy just to it's side. Take Turbo Lift down to a new Level, the map is already done as we can see it from the staging area. Just perhaps give some new Reman stuff to buy... ...yet would depend on the Holding.

This may not appeal to some, still it's a suggestion.

they can put some very very valuable stuff in the phoenix box.
it is so hard to get an UR or an EPIC token. I opened thousands of boxes since the launch of this box, and I got 2 epic and 1 UR (maybe 2, not sure).

I didn't even try to win an UR token to buy a ship upgrade, it is a waste of time and it is really discouraging.

This is pretty slick because it's so simple. Building up, rather than building out. Inevitably you reach an apex for a particular module but some of the holdings could expanded without committing to breaking new ground and the additional work it demand of the devs.

You pretty much nailed it. Unpredictability and limited windows are as much a requirement as actually offering something people want. It's possibly more important because acquiring that, "must have" without pressing the buyer to make a zen to dilithium transaction defeats the purpose. Short windows and "once in a lifetime opportunities" are key. This might even allow for something offered via other promotions to raise it's ugly head. Not committing to providing specific offers reliably is a strong spend point.

All infinity lock box items older than 5 years.

As time passes on the pool of items increases and the sink never ends.

Except -- and this is important -- the people who consume the most dilithium are also the ones who buy and use the most keys, so their need for things from lockboxes is quite small to nonexistent. Same problem with offering a dilithium to lobi crystal exchange.

That is quite an assumption, and one I see no practical evidence of being true.

it would be more efficient to put in the dil store all the old lobi items.
I don't want to see lock box stuff added in the dil store because these items won't be affordable at all, unless you are a hard dilithium grinder.

Make the modules in the Dill store upgradeable. Then more people would spend dill buying them and then more dill upgrading. This would only be a minor impact but ever little helps.

Got back to the old Phoenix Upgrades system as the new 24/7 with 100% Phoenix uptime event looks like a failed idea that is making the dill situation worse. It looks like players are now overall spending less dill to upgrade gear and so less dill is leaving the game from gear upgrades. If there was an increase in uptake in the use of Phoenix Upgrades which it looks like there was by a large amount as a large amount of players swapped from crafted to Phoenix , then there has been a large decrease in dill leaving the game from upgrade use due to using Phoenix over crafted.

From tracking numbers I can in game it looks like general players are spending around half as much dill as they used to for item upgrades. So many players are now have less dill outgoing and are building up larger amounts of dill due to the Phoenix Upgrades.

The best idea is allowing lobi for dill. Or buying lobi items directly of dill even if its only limited items.

EDIT: The short version is if people are spending more dill to get Phoenix Upgrades then they are spending less overall Dill upgrading gear. The net result is bad as less Dill leaves the game.

Just remember not everyone is swimming in Dil' or has the time to engage in all the farming antics. So whatever sinks are suggested should not be a "must have" or replace something freely accessible in game.

I should quantify my "must have" better. I was implying more a feeling/want than a a legitimate need. I grind my own dilithium and something would have to be attractive and in a very narrow window for me to consider buying from someone rather than doing it myself. In my case like my gameplay overall the compromise would be balancing a contribution from my stash without breaking it and subsidizing it will a dil purchase. What would put me such a position would have to be super cool to me personally but not disadvantage if I chose not to buy in.
