You could try a less vague title. Vague titles aren't allowed.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything. :D

Unfortunately no. While yes ILM slipped the Mellenium Falcon into the Battle of Sector 001 as an easter egg (And slipped in R2-D2 into the 2009 Star Trek), The Falcon as is can't be brought in, and that particular fan design cannot be brought in. It is a legal NIGHTMARE that was first experienced back with the Design the Next Enterprise contest years ago before we got the Odyssey class, and several runners up. That's why we haven't had anything fan designed since. Its been Canon or Cryptic Original Designs. The closest we've had to the Design the Next Enterprise contest have been players voting on Cryptic designs for some event ships, with runners up also coming in as different ships, for example the Lukari ships, with the Triangle design winning, and the saucer and boomerang coming in close behind.

    TL;DR: Legal Issues say No.

    Much better :)

We haven't brought in ships from other games/media as far as I know. Reason is copyright and all that. I love the Falcon too, but I doubt we'll get it.

Playing a bit of a devil's advocate here.. the design does kind of look like the Defiant or Phantom type escorts... if you flip it backwards... neither of those has the forked tail but a new ship in the same design category very well could.

ACTUALLY... one of the customization options does give the Phantom a forked tail rather than the looped one.

Actually, they could do it fairly easily by making an updated Shran class with extended nacelles and the outrigger mission pods of the Gallant class.

Or even easier they could spin it as a Ferisan diplomat who happened to arrive in on a Slithus around the same time as the Borg and just could not resist the temptation to take a few swipes at it for honor or bragging rights or whatever.

I can't say I know anyone who hates Star Wars. The new movies, sure, but as an IP, no.

Can they make the Millenium Falcon? No. Some design that could have a similar silhouette? Sure. Legalistic BS makes it complicated if someone else designs it though.

at this point...sure. why not. we have cross faction piloting, so why not cross faction IP?
    make it so!

Why not just make it a carrier pet for a larger carrier with the main lance weapon on it? It could be one of the larger carrier frigate pets with a single bay for a maximum of two at one time. Just need to make sure the ai can coordinate. Since it was in the movie, star trek could say it was modeled after a mysterious ship seen during the above battle.

There is no IP loss for a ship that is that generally designed after something. Not legally. Although that doesn't seem to stop anyone these days. Falconer is not IP protected by star wars. Anyone can use it.

It more-than-vaguely resembles a ship from Star Wars - closely enough that y'all didn't even need to be told which ship.

Lucasfilm is a Disney subsidiary these days. Disney's legal department watches over them. This is the same crew (in)famous for suing a day care for painting Disney characters on the wall without a license. You think they wouldn't come after Cryptic? Or do you imagine that Perfect World's attorneys could defend STO against charges of trademark violation without costing so much money that closing the game down would be cheaper?

There is a time and a place to make a stand. This ain't it.
