It would grant a character bound Federation Type 8 shuttlecraft, with a nucleogenic lifeform attack pet unique console, usable on the old Nova/Rhode Island because it would be announced on April 1st.
Hypothetical remastered T5 skins will also be available separately, requiring a specific Nova 3D printed purchase that no store would ever carry.

I think the last thing this game needs is more high bloom FX.
I don't think it was an April Fools, the tweet went out at 2:59AM on April 2nd (11:59 PM April 1st on the inferior west coast), likely the last minute that it could possibly be announced without missing the scheduled date. This was probably what he was referring to when he said he had looked at the calendar and realized April 1st was on a Thursday this year and was worried no one would believe the announcement that was due to go out.
It could be just kitbashing parts into the shape of an Oberth, but the one thing that kinda makes me question that is the secondary hull, as I can't think of anything that has that particular model in game.
I'll take it with a grain of salt due to the date on the post.

Personally, I thought a T6 Oberth would have been a good pick for a Legendary TOS "Starter"(Level Boost) bundle.. seeing as all the constitutions have a Legendary version already. Miracle Worker spec with a design theme of being a 'sleeper' ship that everyone underestimates but punches way above its weight class when nobody is looking.
I just hope it comes with Jem Hadar and Romulan counterparts.
Please... no more level boost bundles. Don't even give Cryptic the idea of locking more ships away in these stupid level boost bundles.
The funny thing is that if you look very closely at the shooting model the big rollbar phasers are actually some sort of Gatling arrangement with multiple emitters. Maybe the devs could make the beam ribbon have a number of thin straight pulse lanes to give it that Gatling phaser look when firing.
Not sure where they could put the Miranda emitter rings on the Oberth and not have look out of place, though those extra thick phaser array strips on the sides look like arrays of dots instead of the single bank of cylinders that makes up a normal phaser strip so they could say it was set up like one of today's Metal Storm array guns:
Overall, regardless of whether that Oberth picture was a joke or not, it would make a very nice looking ship if they cleaned it up a little so the saucers actually meshed with each other instead of looking like they just shoved one into the other (they might be able to do that by adjusting the materials though smoothing the mesh itself a little would probably be easier in the long run).
They'll release Hologram BOffs of Warp 10 Barrier breaking 'super evolved' Captain Janeway and Lt. Paris first. 🤓
I think it's pretty much guaranteed that they're still be at least two more, one for TOS Feds and one for 2409 Feds. There will probably also be something for Jem'Hadar, though it will need some more extras since they already start at very high level anyway, maybe the Changeling species they've said they'd like to add?
For the actual TOS ship I'd rather then do a TOSified Miranda class, it's prominent enough in TWoK to justify a Legendary and TOS Mirandas are a fairly common fan art idea.

Was my thought as well after mistaking it as April prank at first.
Then the patch notes about game stability cleared it up as they obviously were the prank.

When it comes to things like T5 to T6 remasters, the only criteria considered is if someone at Cryptic personally likes the ship, that's pretty much the only criteria they use anymore. Apparently, someone on the Dev team likes this ship so here it comes.
Then when they sell 3 of them total, they will use it as another excuse not to make the Nova.
I don't really care for new ships, generally speaking though. I can only fly one at a time and I've got a couple of dozen already that I don't get to use.
Nice design, but I don't think I'd buy it.
