Just recently, I was looking at my Steamrunner and was thinking "Hmmm, this is one canon ship that could use a model update and maybe a T6 treatment" and wouldn't you know...
Now, if you'll excuse me, just in case, I'm gonna continuously think the Nova could use a model update and maybe a T6 treatment from now on, just in case the gods granted me the gift of prophecy.
Did you post your synopsis of the Live Stream some place? I actually look forward to reading your breakdowns... I'm always in class when they broadcast...
And thanks in advance!
CM
No I didn't make one.
I typically only do the synoposis of the lviestreams when they were is tangible information regarding upcoming content on the game. The last livestream was just Kael and Thomas talking to EcHenry about the ships he has done, and, outside of the Steamrunner mention, had no information about game content.
I was really impressed with how that EC Henry described his thought process for creating ships.
Also appreciated the "easter egg" effects he tries to implement into the ships too.
I don't want a Nova, I want a Steamrunner and a Norway and a Sabre and a Yeager and an actual NEM Sovereign and a Rhode Island (yeah it'll have a Nova skin but I won't use it).
You know I wouldn't mind a Norway over the Steamrunner as well.
The only three vessels out of the list of ships still awaiting the T6 upgrade that interest me are the D'Kyr Science Vessel, Nova Science Vessel and Oberth Light Science Vessel. The latter two have been at the top of this forums request list almost from day one!

Sounds like Cryptic could open your wallet with a science vessel pack then.
Seriously, the Ha'nom would make a good 4/3 science spearhead for those who want their Romulan science captains to fly a Romulan ship, and the game could use a few more spearhead ships.
It is good that the Steamrunner is getting a T6 version, it is one of the few Federation ships that I have wanted to get for a long time but could not justify paying the almost T6 price of the bundle for a T5 ship (the T1 is not even a consideration since players usually blow though the levels where it would be useful in around an hour in normal play without powerleveling boosts with any character after their first).

I hove the Ha'nom, ever since LoR I have been in love with those original ship designs: Ha'nom, Ha'feh, Ha'akona, Ha'apax.
And this game needs some sci ships that have pilot seating, full seating preferably. And the Republic just needs more sci ships.
I've been pushing for a full Pilot spec Nova for some time now. I just can't see any other reasonable spec to have at Commander rank. Could definitely mix it up at the Lt. level - personally I'd like a Miracle Worker seat as a reference to Equinox and the (terrible) solution they came up with to their problem.

Or leave it a universal commander slot. Maybe with a ltc pilot
Iirc the nova model was a runner up for the design of the ship for ds9. Being more like the raider or destroyer layouts seems like a nice fit

Commander universal would not make much sense for the Nova because it is an established science ship, and thus should have a commander sci station. What Jex was saying is that they want that commander sci station to have Pilot spec as well. I completely agree becuase I think Pilot spec has some very nice EPG skills that are often overlooked: reinforcement squadron and coolant ignition. I have been dreaming of a EPG plasma TRIBBLE build for a while now featuring coolant ignition 3, TBR1 w/ graga mal, and warp plasma 1 on an actual science ship with secondary deflector and sci mastery perks.
I could imagine the T6 Nova having a Ankari Summoning Beacon console where you summon friendly nucleogenic lifeforms that act like the Fek'Ihri Lost Souls pets and attack enemies, and when one of them is killed, they allow you to take the body for a stackable speed and turn rate boost.
Haven't been interested in the Steamrunner much myself, but I did like that pic of the new, unfinished, model. This seems like a candidate for a Ships of the Line bundle. This probably won't happen, but it would be cool if a T6 Fleet version had a different look too. (The more part variations the better in my book, assuming we'll be able to do kitbashing.)

Did the T5 Steamrunner come with a special console? We aren't able to get it on PlayStation (it's nowhere to be found in the store), so if this new T6 version comes with one that's part of a set, please bring the T5 to the PlayStation as well, so we can complete the set bonus thingies.

According to the wiki the T1 has a console but the T5 does not. A Ships of the Line bundle seems very likely so the old versions will probably become available on console that way.
sucks they don't bother reading the forums. there has to be half a dozen more requested ships
There will be more ships added to the store before the Steamrunner is released. For normal C-Store ships I'd expect a cruiser next since we had the Luna last and we know an escort is coming later, maybe the Constellation/Cheyenne (STO includes both in the same ship)? I do hope whatever comes next has Klingon and Romulan equivalents available though.
For all we know this isn't even first on Cryptic's list of releases, it was literally "we had the person doing this on stream so we desided to show it as a tease for future content". there was literally nothing on the stream that said either "this will be the next ship we're gonna release" or "this is the only ship we're working on".
I do hope whatever comes next has Klingon and Romulan equivalents available though.
I am not going to hold my breath.
Whatever comes next is probably more likely to have a blend of Klingon and Romulan (or any other Alliance members) style rather than separate ships the way things are going lately.
We used to be able to count on 3 packs and 9 packs of ships with FED/KDF/ROM variants but those days are long gone with the ability for all factions to fly virtually any ship. Going forward, it's clear that we'll get Federation ships continuously no matter what. Sometimes we'll also get a Klingon ship as well. Sometimes a Romulan ship. Sometimes a Jem'Hadar ship but the only ones that will be 99% consistently released that will always have a faction appropriate variant will be Federation ships.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

Unless it is a purely Romulan/Reman design, my wallet stays shut. Ill play the event for an event ship, but I won't buy one of these hideous blended ships from the C-store.
